"Nope, this is all new to me! Asking questions is bad business for a person of my particularly peculiar interests..." Eldrin said with a shrug, deliberately twisting his words for some reason he couldn't honestly fathom.
So... Rii heard voices and Argoth remembered nothing before becoming an assassin. Eldrin twirled a blade of grass between his index finger and thumb pensively as he pondered this news. If Rii learned things by touch, Eldrin knew he would have to avoid physical contact with the Zora, though he didn't really know why. It was nothing against Rii herself, but for some reason he felt like only bad things could come of her discovering his past. He had never suffered memory loss, but he also didn't really know much of his origins. All he knew was that his mother's name was Maia, and that she was a Sheikah who had been raised by the Gerudo. She was an old friend of Ayishe's, but the trail ended there. Maia had disappeared, leaving her infant son in Ayishe's care. He knew nothing else. But the thing was, he didn't want to know... Eldrin was fine living his life the way he was living it, no complications, no life changing journeys of self discovery...
On the other hand, the thief was perfectly fine with accompanying his friends on just such a journey. "Maybe Torak knows more about your past, Argoth."

Argoth thought about that for a moment. Could Torak even tell him anything? Why did he join the assassins in the first place? He barely remembered the night he had dragged himself to Torak, asking him to accept him into the guild. There were too many questions and not enough answers. Perhaps Torak was his best lead at the moment. However, Argoth hadn't seen Torak since he had been back, not even back at HQ, so where could he be?
Argoth turned to Eldrin and replied, "Yeah, maybe he does, but I haven't seen him since I came back."
His eyes wandered off and fixated on a specific spot on the ground, this was his 'I'm deep in thought' face. Argoth had never really thought about digging up his past before and it puzzled him as to why he never wanted to. There were a lot of questions that he wanted answers to. Then a rather exciting thought struck him; maybe his new friend Rii would like to join him on an adventure to find out. He knew that he didn't need to ask Eldrin, he was going to come anyway. They always did. With that he turned to his new and only Zora friend and asked, "Hey Rii, how's about joining me to find out? You too, Eldrin."

Rii smiled. It was almost like a commission. There was no promise of payment, but it did mean she'd have to be dedicated to a certain group. But she was just fine with that. She'd be with Maximus, who was an adorable lad, and there would likely be Eldrin, who was a clever guy, and there was Argoth, who she would get to learn more about as time went on. "I look forward to it," she replied with a warm smile.
She briefly wondered about other things as she replied. Had she not hugged Argoth, she might not have focused on him enough to sense that he had memory loss. What if her other friends were suffering of medical injuries and illnesses that she could fix, she just hadn't noticed? Not to mention, she had yet to hug Maximus or Eldrin despite having known them longer than Argoth! The tragedy! She loved hugging people!

"Sweet! I'm down..." Eldrin said with grin. It had been a while since he'd been on an adventure with Argoth. The thief stood up and dusted grass off of his breeches. "Let's go! Wait... Where are we going?" he asked, looking suddenly confused. Torak had disappeared quite some time ago... Who knew where he could be?
(It's short, I know... But, at least it moves things along...)

"Well alright!" Argoth said happily, "Lets go find Torak. We'll go to HQ first."
"Not to be a downer boss, but Torak hasn't been seen in months. Nobody knows where he even is." Max chimed in.
"Oh," Argoth sounded disappointed, not only did he want to ask Torak about his arrival at the assassins but he also just wanted to see him. It had been forever and he had only recently come back to life. "Well, we'll head to HQ anyway, I need to pick up something very special. Everybody ready to go?"

Rii was about to say she was ready whenever they were. And then it dawned on her! She hadn't hugged Eldrin despite having known him longer than Argoth, and now she was dead set on hugging him. But she was sure that didn't mean she was any less ready for the adventure, so she dismissed it.
For now.
"Always. Would anyone like a ride?" Rii asked, smiling as she patted her new horse's neck from her place on the ground.

(Of course, I'm not gonna make that one easy... ) Eldrin smiled, turning away from the others. Riding to the desert sure sounded better than walking, and on a stolen steed was more his style anyway. Yet, the thief knew he couldn't risk it. If he rode with her, he'd have to touch Rii. "So, back to the desert," he said, almost inaudibly. A warm summer wind caressed his face, making his scar itch... Eldrin sighed and walked alongside his friends. An unconscious smile adorned his face. It was good to have these kinds of friends... The good kind. [Exit Eldrin]

"Me!! I want a ride!" Max shouted, jumping up and down with excitement. He ran over to Rii and held her hand, "I'm gonna go with Rii, Argoth. She needs to know where the hideout is anyway. We'll meet you there."
Argoth smiled at the young boy's eagerness to ride Billiam once more, "Alright kid, don't be too much trouble for her." Argoth said jokingly.

Rii was sad that Eldrin instantly turned down her offer. She thought since he had helped her get the horse he had earned the right to ride Billiam, not that she would've cared either way. She was always ready to assist. Still, she smiled broadly as Maximus instantly claimed a spot on her horse, laughing as he claimed her hand.
And then, as Maximus continued to talk and Argoth replied, Rii felt something at the edge of her mind. Maximus. Hylian male. 9. Internal untamed demon soul infection. No. No. No, no, no, not to Maximus. Rii swore her blood froze. She felt all the happiness on her face drain to be replaced by utter horror. "Maximus," Rii whispered, positive her voice had never been so... somber.
Rii's gaze fell onto the nine-year-old happily holding her hand."You know," she began, her voice still soft. Something like that couldn't possibly have gone unnoticed by the one who had the infection. Her voice grew slightly louder as she turned to face Argoth, but it was still so unbearably soft that she wondered if Maximus had even heard the seven words she said. Her horror was slowly being replaced by a very unfamiliar feeling just around the edges. "And so do you."

Max was overcome with joy that he was able to ride Billiam again, so much so in fact that he hadn't heard a word Rii said. "Can we go now Rii? I wanna show you our hideout," Max said giddily.
"You two be careful," Argoth said as he turned around to leave. "I'll meet you there."

Rii gave a soft smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Alright, Maximus. Up with you," she said, lifting him up into the saddle. When she mounted, she placed him in front of her so she could keep him near and watch him as they rode. She knew illness and disease and pain rarely considered the patient.
But knowing things didn't necessarily make it easier. It was still a nine-year-old child. A very sweet child, at that. Rii was not familiar with treating demon soul infections, but she knew what it was. She knew what it entailed, but she had never experienced it first hand. Still, Maximus did not deserve it. She knew one didn't just 'catch' a demon soul infection like one did a cough. This was purposeful, and three words that Rii had never had cross her mind sprang to the forefront of her thoughts. How could they?
