She remembered pacing a room, fingers twitching frantically. Her mentor had entered, saying something about 'proving herself', and while Lahnea had tried to take it as a joke (as she usually did when it came to these sorts of things) her mentor continued on, face solemn. She'd tried to tell him to leave so she could start the test he had obviously prepared for her, but still he remained. He opened a portal. Lahnea's eyes widened as she glanced over at the growing hole. "Master?"
"I won't be the one leaving."
Then she was sucked inside and everything went black.
Usually, this meant waking up in some sort of field being stared at by a random child who then would run off and tell their parents that a stranger had fallen from the sky. Of course, Lahnea wasn't quite sure where she was going to hit, as the only thing she could see was the sky above her. At least, until she had fallen far enough that there were also several castle turrets in the distance Then she was close enough to hear the murmurs of people trading secrets and the frantic roars of people chasing criminals and bidding over exotic goods. Did someone just bid five hundred rupees? Speaking of which, what in the name of Midna was a rupee? Unless...
And then she hit... well, something.
(ooc: I don't care what it is so long as she can live through it. (so, you know, not a giant spike))

She hit... a fireball. Well, ok, not a fireball. She almost hit a fireball, but a man in a black longcoat saw her falling and dispersed the fireball into a cushion-y updraft of warm air that was somehow enough to keep the girl from splattering like a tomato hitting a wall.
"You ok?" The man asked. He wasn't sure if he cared. He noticed she was a Twili, and he had been trained to fight against them. On the other hand, he was trying to break free of the man who had trained him like that. In short, it was something just short of a dilemma. He would would at least make sure she hadn't broken anything before moving on.

Well, Lahnea had expected to land on ground, maybe on top of a thatched roof of some poor stall owner that would crumble beneath her. So long as it had been a normal surface she would've lived. Twili were especially durable that way (otherwise the portals would open nearer to the ground, wouldn't they?) but it seemed someone hadn't been fully aware. Instead of hitting any real surface, Lahnea first encountered... warm air? It was not what she had expected, but it was warm enough that it must've been fresh off of some raging inferno.
Then she hit the ground, back uncomfortably warm and eyes struggling to focus on an actual object after the impact. Lahnea registered someone saying 'you okay' and then realized she actually understood them. That's right. According to legend somehow both the Twili and Hylians had come to speak the same language, despite being in two very different worlds. Curious to see who had saved her with warm air (she was still mostly focused on that, as it fascinated her to no end), Lahnea pushed herself up and into a crouching position so she could look up at the man. Finally her eyes found purchase and his image sharpened.
"Yeah, sturdy bones," she replied hurriedly, standing within the next second to look around. "So, this... is Hyrule?" Lahnea couldn't help but sound a little confused and maybe a tad unimpressed. Though it did look better than the images of it back home. She'd only ever seen depictions which were often twisted through racist hate or simply because descriptions and observations were spread through word of mouth or the briefest of glimpses.

"There's less nothing if you pick a direction and walk." He said, gesturing around. He still wasn't sure if he wanted the Twili around. She could very well turn hostile. "No burns, right?" He asked. He didn't know exactly what temperature Hylians burned at, and she was a Twili. Even more different. A bit curious to see what her species could take, he started to slowly pull heat from the air around her, dropping the temperature.

Lahnea shrugged. "Nothin' I can't handle," she replied with a smile as she felt a light sting spread throughout her back. She'd been right. The warm air had to have been straight from a fire to have burned her back."Must've been the warm air that caught me. Do you-"
The air grew cooler as she glanced around again. Lahnea cocked her head, amused by the inconsistency. "You Hylians have weird weather. Hot air, cool air, make a-" Just like before she cut herself off, finally thinking about it.
It was possible neither the warm or cool air was natural. "Do you guys have magic here?" she asked, thinking back to all the magic that tended to roam the Twilight Realm.

Faro hesitated. He would basically rat himself out if he answered either way. The only difference was whether she found out from him or someone else. Besides, he knew the Twili Realm had magic too, how on Din's brown Earth would she have gotten here without it? He finally stopped screwing with the air temperature.
"Yes." He answered.

Eldrin had come into the market district to meet with a local leatherworker. He needed the straps on Avarice fixed, and had neither the skills nor the materials to do it himself. He held the broken gauntlet in one hand and a wallet stuffed with rupees in the other. The wallet was not his, of course. He was wandering through the market (showing a surprising amount of self control in that he wasn't stealing anything) when he noticed... a portal? It seemed like a hole had been ripped in the fabric of the sky. Then it just sort off... spit out a person... It was almost like some other dimension was dumping it's trash off in Hyrule. After a moment of consideration. Eldrin decided that Avarice could wait... This was bound to be interesting.
Eldrin found the spot where she had landed quickly, but he was not the first. A man in a black longcoat was talking to the new arrival. A man he quickly recognized as Faro. The person who had fallen from the sky portal was... odd. Her skin was nearly white, but not pale. It had a quality to it that Eldrin wasn't sure he'd ever seen on a human. Her hair was golden, or maybe orange... It seemed the more he looked, the more the colors changed. Or maybe they weren't changing, maybe his eyes were adjusting to them. Her eyes were red, and gold where they should've been white. Teal markings wove across her skin and her clothes. She was definitely not from around here...
Eldrin stepped up beside Faro. "Should've expected to find you when I saw people falling from the sky... This some crazy plot of the Big Guy's? Nevermind... I don't wanna know... What I do wanna know is, what the hell is that?" He watched the strange woman with a warm glow in his red eyes and a crooked smile on his lips.

"See, that was the reaction I was expecting! Sir Mystery over here did - what was that, temperature magic? - and, I don't know... it was... refreshing?" Lahnea's train of thought died as she stared at stranger number one, the one that she had dubbed Sir Mystery. Lacking anything more to say on the matter, she shook her head and ran a pale teal-white hand over her gold and orange braid, pulling it so that it rested on her chest instead of against her back. "But I much prefer your reaction. I'd like to say that I'm the most gorgeous woman you'll ever meet," Lahnea began, a grin on her face, "but most people just say I'm a Twili, from the Twilight Realm. Never heard of it?"

Malevolence perked up when Eldrin approached, finally speaking on the subject.
Oh good, Eldrin's here. Now we don't have to talk to it anymore.[/b] Malevolence thought happily.
She's a she, not an it... I think. He thought back.
Oh ho ho, so are you going to tell her that you're racist against her kind? I'm sure it will take that well.[/b]
Faro let a growl escape him. Out loud, and without meaning to. He had no idea how to treat Lahnea. Part of him said as a friend, the other said as an enemy. I guess it only mattered if he decided to report her presence to Ganon. She might be hunted down, and he didn't want that. Or did he? He clenched his fist. This was so stupid. Breaking down in indecision at the first sign of grey. Of choice. He sighed internally. This was going to be a long day...

Eldrin raised an eyebrow when she told him that she was a Twili. "Oh, I've heard of it... Just didn't expect to see any falling from the sky..." He thought back to the last time he'd seen Kalathor. Kalathor wasn't a Twili though, but a Hylian warped by Twilight magic... Or something like that... Eldrin didn't think he'd ever seen a genuine Twili.
"Well, Miss Twili, it's truly a pleasure to meet you," he crossed his right arm over his abdomen and shifted his left leg behind him before dipping into a deep, extravagant bow, waving his left arm away from his body as he did. "You can call me Eldrin, partial Sheikah, thief extraordinaire, and general purveyor of all things unlawful." He rose from the bow and assumed a more relaxed stance. "And you, my dear, are quite unlawful... Being an illegal alien and whatnot..." He glanced around the marketplace. They were drawing quite the crowd by this point. It wouldn't be long before the Hylian Guard arrived. "Mayhap it'd be best if we moved on to a more quiet place..." The more he thought about it, the more this situation seemed bad. After all, he was a wanted criminal himself, Faro was technically an enemy of the state... and the Twili... well, it had been nearly forever since a Twili had arrived in Hyrule. She would either be treated as some sort of ambassador, or a test subject. Hylians knew very little about the Twili and their realm. He wouldn't be surprised if she ended up in the middle of a giant tug-of-war between the major powers of the world. Twilight Magic was notoriously powerful... Ganondorf would surely love to get his hands on it, and thus the king would want it as well. Even if the king had naught but noble causes in mind, he would still have to lock this woman away... If only to keep her out of Ganon's clutches...

Lahnea found herself smirking at the word 'unlawful'. What a fun word it was.
"Mayhap it'd be best if we moved on to a more quiet place..."
Lahnea had looked around right when she had landed, but no one but the first stranger had been there. Now that Eldrin pointed it out, though, Lahnea realized that her falling form had finally attracted the attention she had expected. "Not in the mood for chaos? What sort of thief are you?" Lahnea teased as the confused people grew nearer. She enjoyed their reaction, as she had never been stared at for such a reason.
"A pale skinned creature? With markings and fire for hair? Woman, this better not be a jest."
Lahnea stiffened. Okay, that was a guard. It seemed both worlds carried the same 'this-means-business' voice.
"Fine, I'll have it your way for now," Lahnea quickly amended, red eyes scanning for the best escape route. "Know any good ones?" A thief, she could trust. If he knew somewhere in particular, she would follow.

"A few." He admitted, trying to come off as helpful. He couldn't take his amber eyes off the Twili, but not in a good way. If everything he'd been taught was true, she'd stab him in the back as soon as he turned around, then jump back through her portal to escape punishment like the coward he thought she was. Still, she didn't seem to know much, and he could use that. However, did he want to? He wasn't Ganon's biggest fan at the moment, and Eldrin was here. Eldrin might seem naive, but that was all a facade. A mask. A lie. Eldrin would already have figured that Faro trying to take the girl was a possibility. It was doubtful that Faro would get far with her, even if he wanted to bring her to Ganon. This situation would likely prove to be very annoying.

Lahnea glanced per at Faro, eyebrows raised in slight surprise that he had spoken first. Lahnea often dealt with consequences as they came and found she could follow a person she barely knew and not care, so it wasn't that she was wary of him at the moment. It was more that he had come off as more stand-offish, and had also tried some weird temperature magic on her, whereas Eldrin seemed sociable, friendly, clever.
But so long as she didn't get caught by guards she would go with it. "Alright, Temperature Magic, lead the way," she offered, gesturing to whatever lay beyond.

Eldrin was just as surprised as the Twili to hear Faro offer to help. That growl earlier hadn't come from nowhere, and that look in his eyes... Eldrin knew Faro well, even considered him a good friend, it was no difficult feat for him to catch the hatred burning in those amber depths. Faro had issues with this girl, there was no doubt about that. So why would he offer help? A trap, obviously... but would he really try anything with Eldrin there? Eldrin wasn't particularly powerful, and not even a great fighter, but he was clever. Faro knew this much. Still though, he would go along with Faro for now. Overt distrust would hardly benefit them. Of course, following a follower of Ganon to a secluded location was particularly risky... Ganondorf had several safehouses set up throughout Hyrule Castle Town, it would only be too easy for Faro to draw them into a trap. Furthermore, the Twili didn't seem to sense the tension in the air. Or perhaps, she was also playing the fool. Eldrin's eyes lit up. That was a very interesting possibility. He'd never faced another who employed the same as him. It wasn't entirely impossible that she could be a spy for the Twilight Realm. She could be figuring out a way to open a permanent portal, and thus herald an interrealm invasion the likes of which had never been seen. He would have to ignore that little likelihood. His first goal would be to keep her safe from Faro, preferably by convincing him that she was alright. If she turned out to be no good, well then he would deal with that when it came. "Alright, Temperature Magic, lead the way,""Indeed, let us see what you have in store for us," Eldrin added, locking eyes with Faro, his wording deliberately suggestive. "Oh, and by the way, may I suggest you lend Miss Twili your coat? That way, we might cover up some of her oddity for the time being," he suggested. Removing Faro's longcoat would make it far more difficult for him to hide any weapons or the like. Not to mention, the coat was probably enchanted to resist fire, that way he wasn't constantly having to repair it. Thus, he was giving the Twili nearly full body protection from Faro's pyrokinesis, while simultaneously exposing Faro. Faro and the Twili were almost the same height, so it would fit her well. He knew full well that Faro would see directly through his intentions, but also knew that he couldn't really refuse without seeming suspicious. Eldrin smirked, his eyes glinting mischievously... this was turning out to be a fun day... (Whew! That was a metric crapton of introspection... Sorry if it got boring for a while there, but I had a lot for Eldrin to consider. ;D)

"Gah, fine. It's not like I need the damn thing anyway." He said. He pulled the black longcoat off his shoulders and threw it to Lahnea. Underneath, it seemed Faro favored to wear a sleeveless black undershirt. With Malevolence inhabiting him, the seals were perfectly visible now that the coat was gone. Starting from his shoulders as a black circle, the markings trailed down to his elbows in a straight black line, where another circle located on the outer surface of the elbow. From there, the line trailed down to his wrists where there was yet another circle. From his wrists trailed much shorter lines. These lines ended in half-circles that adorned the backs of Faro's hands. When his fists came together, they would make the circle whole.
"Don't get dirt on it." He grumbled. He knew what Eldrin was trying to do, and the fact that he saw Lahnea as less than a person already wasn't helping at all. Still, he didn't have much choice. He started walking away from the guard without waiting for the others to follow.
