Lahnea groaned and her face claimed a scowl as its own as she went over to walk her fingers along the edge of Butterfly's head. "Still brimming with it. Wouldn't be here otherwise. And you know, I wouldn't mind him forcefully sending me through a portal here on any other day. Your world has a lot of neat stuff, with your strange engineering techniques and what not, and I've met some wild people. But you've all got this weird reaction to Twili. Still, wouldn't have minded this whole Light Realm challenge if it didn't include you," Lahnea explained, glancing over at Rii. "Learning about you changed a lot of things I thought I had figured out about my master. Karis doesn't seem like such a bad guy in our realm. Not anymore. But I guess that's why he sent me and not himself. He tends to do that with his problems. We have no idea why the wall is down, which is why I'm here. I'm supposed to fix it and of course, bonus, you guys don't hate me. I think. I did find you at a bad time. Sorry."
"I can understand that," Rii assured her with a smile. "You've been very helpful. And I'm sure in normal circumstances you're not so serious."
Lahnea smiled sadly. "Yeah, well master prefers me serious," Lahnea answered. There was an awkward pause before she blew air out of her mouth forcefully and turned to Argoth. "Anything else?"

"I have had some experience with Twili. An old friend of mine is one. Haven't seen him in ages though." Argoth interjected after Lahnea mentioned the weird reaction people had to her species. When she finished and asked him if there was anything else he shook his head. "I think I've got it. But, what happens now?" he asked.

Lahnea hoisted Butterfly's head off the dresser and wedged it underneath her arm. "Well, I have to contact my master. That'll take all night, I'm sure. Then I have a few contacts to investigate about the wall. Luckily your Light Realm isn't full of strangers. Until then, though, I'd stay here. If the hunters already in the city, I can keep them out. And there shouldn't be anymore besides that group you just fought. I imagine they have other hunting parties looking elsewhere, and they're going back to regroup. Hopefully I'll be back in twenty four hours with the wall back up. Then Butterfly can activate his friends and take the hunters back to the kingdom for good. End of story. Nice and easy, like a smooth raid," Lahnea answered with a grin. "Now if you don't mind. I've got a thirteen foot metal tower with no head outside being babysat by a violinist and some weird mountain creature."
"A Goron, Miss Engineer. I think you'd rather like their culture if you were to visit their mountain," Rii offered.
"Point me in a direction, Miss Healer, and I'll go there after we finish your adventure."
Rii nodded before hopping up to approach her, hands on her hips."You're planning on sleeping, yes?"
Lahnea could see where that question was headed as she quickly waved Rii's words off and headed for the door. But then Rii had her finned arms wrapped around the Twili. Lahnea was surprised to see a very stern look in Rii's green eyes. "Believe me when I tell you that I'll know if you don't sleep. I'll make it my business, for all the work you're doing for me," she assured the teenager in a sing song voice.
"Right, fine. I'll pull an all-nighter some other time. Ruin all my fun." With a smile, Rii pulled back. "Now I'm going. But stay put this time. Finding you was hard enough last time," Lahnea teased. Then her smile fell. "And make sure guard dog does his job well." And then she was gone.
"Argoth," Rii insisted after her before sighing as she stepped away from the door once more, turning to Argoth. "Poor luck that she can't be where she wants. If I could only gather all the hunters and show Karis' magic isn't in me, then she could go be as wild as she wanted." She paused. "You too, you know. Though with what little cloth I have it might take me that long to make you a shirt." She smiled at him and managed a laugh, though admittedly it wasn't such a free laugh as she would have liked. She still hadn't exactly gotten a reaction out of her... friend?

Argoth laughed slightly when Lahnea referred to him as Rii's guard dog. At first that's perhaps what he was, but as the night progressed their relationship had grown to something much greater than he had ever imagined. Argoth decided that now that the two of them were finally alone together that they should talk about where this was headed, but right now something else was more pressing. It occurred to him that since learning about Rii's story, he hadn't said much about it to her.
What do I even say? What is there to say? Argoth pondered. Maybe he should ask her how she feels? She told him the story, but not what her feelings are about it all. Maybe that's what there was to talk about because Argoth knew how he felt about it. Perhaps they should exchange.
"What was it like living with him?" he asked.

Rii had decided to reach into her pack for the third time in an attempt to start her work on Argoth's shirt, as she wasn't sure if he was going to say anything. As she pulled out her spare white tunic, he asked his question.
She paused with a webbed hand grasping a spool of thread, then she pulled it out slowly before reaching for a sewing needle. How to describe what living with Karis was like? She thought maybe she could pick a word, but in the end her mind settled for three. "Unfortunate, conflicting, and... Almost a lot of things. He was almost forgivable, and at the same time everything he did was so unforgivable to most people. Almost a kind man until his cowardice won. I knew he wasn't necessarily lying. He loved me, but everything he did was contradicting. He fed me and offered me these fanciful garments and just as fast refused to let me leave my room or look outside the window. He told me nothing meant more to him than my happiness, but the moment I didn't grant him what he claimed would make him happiest..." Rii let the bag slide out of her fingers and hit the floor inches below before she straightened and looked over at Argoth. "He took it instead. He was so in love with me but wouldn't truly speak to me. He wanted me a breath away and at arm's length all at the same time. Karis was so... confused. He wanted me to be a lover almost as much as he wanted me to be a pretty, mute doll. He wanted to be a good man almost as much as he wanted to be a powerful, feared man."
She shook her head and came to sit next to Argoth again. Her fingers were already softly tearing at the stitching in her tunic, disassembling the spare garment so she could reassemble it bigger and shaped for Argoth's torso. "A large, hollow prison. Nobody talked to me besides the automatons. Butterfly would sneak me out to help the villagers when plague came, but I'd have to return and my supplies were taken until Karis needed me to use them. It was worse when I was pregnant... to a point. Karis discovered my escapades and stopped them entirely. The automatons, for fear of hurting me, were removed. But then, Karis visited me more. He wanted to dance and laugh but it was all... very strange" Rii cocked her head to one side as the extra tunic finally fell apart in her hands, now two long pieces of white cloth ready to be rearranged. Very strange, now that she thought about it. She'd thought about it a lot, but it never appeared too strange until it came out of her mouth.

Argoth listened carefully. The way Rii explained her imprisonment was perplexing. How could someone evil enough to act on the desire to rape try so hard to be loving and compassionate? Argoth felt as if the love and compassion Karis tried to use on Rii was only compensation for what he really felt inside. Like Rii had explained, he wanted her locked up, away from the world and to be his only. He loved her so much that he would do anything for her, but he was so insecure with himself that he felt the need to lock her away from the world so she could never leave him. He must have known his actions were immoral and wrong, so he felt the need to make up for them by giving Rii fancy clothes and gifts.
Argoth knew this type of person. Many times had he rescued women just like Rii from them, only it was inadvertently. These were the worst types of cowards, and when Rii had finished it only fueled the fire that burned as his anger. This time however, Argoth decided that being angry at Karis would get him nowhere. By the sound of it, Argoth was going to end up meeting Karis, according to Lahnea of course. If he did meet him, Argoth didn't want to start a confrontation, not only for his own safety because Karis was a Twili with extensive magical prowess, but also for Rii's sake.
Argoth shook his head in disgust and turned his head to face Rii. He felt like she might want to talk more about her life with Karis but to be honest Argoth really didn't want to. It only sparked emotions in him he previously didn't know existed. Now that he and Rii had something that was more than friendship, bringing up her past with Karis made him feel uncomfortable and angry.
To divert his attention for a moment he looked down at the shirt Rii was constructing for him. HE reached out and grabbed onto it while looking her in the eyes. Argoth smiled at her and said, "Its okay, Rii, you don't need to go through the trouble. Besides, I do believe you said that great abdominal muscles never hurt anybody." Argoth let out a chuckle and continued to smile at her.

After answer Argoth's question, Rii noted he still hadn't verbally reacted. But at the same time, she knew. He was frustrated, angry. She didn't want him to be these things because of her. But he'd asked, and she wasn't going to hide what had happened to her. Rii wasn't one for dishonesty.
But then he was grabbing her garment in progress. "Well it's too late for that. It's already in two. How rude of you to tell me to go back on it now," she replied with a playful grin before picking up one piece of scrap fabric and wrapping it around his torso. Hm, it was a little too long and not wide enough. With an experimental turn she found it was then wide enough, but not long enough. Well, she'd have to be inventive with the second piece, that was for sure. "Once it's done you are under no obligation to put it back on. I won't be insulted if you never wear it so long as you take it."
She started making tears here and stitches there while a smile grew on her face. "I'd prefer it stays off if your abdominal muscles are alright with that."

Argoth could tell that Rii knew what he was feeling. He had not voiced it, but he knew. Argoth wasn't one for expressing himself much. He didn't like putting his feelings onto other people. Perhaps it was also because Rii and him hadn't developed enough of a relationship for him to feel comfortable to do so. Whatever this relationship was. Were they considered dating now? He had no idea. After this talk was over he would make sure to bring it up. Once he was comfortable enough, or perhaps when he felt the time was right during their conversation he would say how he felt about Karis and the situation. For now however, he would just continue with their conversation.
"My abdominal muscles are okay with that," he replied giving her a smile and a light laugh.

"My gain, then," Rii managed to say through her laughter as she continued her stitching. Miraculously, with some adjustments she was able to create a simple tunic for Argoth. Well, almost. "Almost enough fabric for this side... Oh! I've been meaning to do this anyway!" Rii set the tunic down, one side left to stitch together but not quite wide enough for her assassin. She reached into her pack and fished out one long piece of purple fabric. She imagined purple and white was not quite the look Argoth was going for on his tunic. He probably would want a solid tunic.
But she wouldn't mind adding a splash of color to her own look.
"Sorry if my abdominal muscles don't measure up to yours," she apologized with a smile beforehand as she reached behind her head to where her tunic was tied at the base of her neck, untying it quickly before pulling her entire tunic up and over her head. She was in shape due to the fact that she swam constantly, but zora muscle structure in females wasn't quite as pronounced as it was in males.
Unfazed by this change in wardrobe, Rii proceeded to tear at the top of her tunic bare-chested. This would be perfect. A spare ring and she could redo her own look and finish Argoth's tunic with the spare white cloth from her own shirt.

Argoth laughed slightly at Rii's comment, he was glad she liked his appearance. Something happened then that Argoth had never seen coming; Rii took her tunic off. Beneath was nothing but skin and Argoth couldn't help but stare. He hoped she didn't notice him but by this point it was already too late. It was such a surprise to him that he didn't even say anything back about her ab comment. Probably because he was staring at them so intently. Well, that and the rest of her upper half. Not only was Argoth attracted to her emotionally but physically as well. And as he was staring he suddenly realized just how beautiful she actually was. He felt blood rush to a specific region of his lower body and he folded a leg to conceal it. He blushed slightly and tried to make up for the time he had spent ogling her obvious beauty.
"I don't know what you are talking about," Argoth began, "You have great abdominal muscles."
It wasn't until after he said it that he realized that that was a dead giveaway to his staring. And obvious awkwardness. He slapped a hand to his forehead and laughed. Turning his head back to her he flashed her a smile that said, "I really like you."
The blood in his nether regions returned to the rest of his body and he unfolded his leg. He leaned forward and placed both elbows on his knees while looking at the ground. For some reason he was nervous to talk to Rii about their future relationship. Perhaps it was because he didn't want to scare her off. After a moment to collect himself he turned back to her, "So uhm, after all that's happened tonight, where does that leave us? I mean, we did share something back there right? I know I felt something at least. I don't know about you but I think I really like you and I don't want to rush things but I thought now was as good of a time as any to discuss what this even is? What I'm trying to say is that I think there is something here and that maybe we should act on it and make it more than just what it is now and I hope you are okay with that cause-

Rii silently smiled as Argoth complimented her abs and she finished tearing off the right amount of cloth from her tunic. He'd been looking, and while she would laugh at him later for his reaction to her shirtless-ness, considering zoras were like that all the time, she was very pleased. He'd looked. She had started stitching the white cloth onto his tunic-in-process when he had confessed that he liked her. Her needle froze and her green eyes flickered over to him. Something about his voice. She knew he was serious, and her heart beat picked up in her chest. She wanted to respond, but he continued to go. So, shaking her head, Rii returned to her project and listened very carefully.
Somewhere in his muddled confession she'd realized he wasn't going to stop. He was going to keep spouting his questions and keep elaborating on why he was hoping they'd be together and she wondered what was the bluntest way for her to eliminate all his problems.
Well, his tunic was done.
So, right as he was about to explain why he wanted her to be okay with the idea of furthering their relationship, she threw his tunic aside with her's and pressed a webbed hand firmly to his mouth. "Shhh. Silence for two seconds, please," she whispered as she lifted his arms off his knees maneuvered herself onto his lap. "We're thinking the same thing." Then Rii cocked her head to one side and offered him a smile.

Her hand pressed against his lips and he immediately stopped talking. Rii's words seemed cold at first and Argoth almost felt sick to his stomach. His obvious nervousness and rambling were snuffing out any hope for anything more than friendship, he was sure of it. I brought it up too soon. I knew it. Way to go. His mind tortured him. Similar thoughts filled his brain until he heard her utter the words, "we're thinking the same thing." Relief and confusion both set up shop at the exact same time. One part of his brain knew exactly what she meant, the other asked confounded, What the hell does that mean? So many thoughts were rushing through his mind it was impossible to tell if she was actually thinking the same as he was. She never actually admitted that she liked him too, and to some small degree that worried him. He knew that by what she said she meant that she did, but it wasn't a direct confession. Perhaps he was feeling disappointment and not worry. He would have liked more than just something that simple, but maybe that was all she was capable of saying. Argoth began to think that he just might have ruined it when he started rambling. If he had stuck to a single question, maybe she would have said more.
He tried not to display his clear over thinking of the situation and smiled back at her just as he had before. After removing her hand from his mouth of course. Argoth wanted to say more, wanted to ask her how she felt but nothing came out. It's probably better if I just don't say anything else, he thought, fearing he would just ramble again.

Rii gave a dissatisfied 'hm'. That wasn't the reaction she wanted, so she put her hand back over his frown (technically he was smiling, but she didn't believe that for a second), even though she was frowning too. It couldn't be that maybe it was because she hadn't actually said anything? In her last relationship it hadn't been necessary. Then again, she wasn't with that zora anymore.
"Let's try this again because I think something went wrong here." She leaned forward to rest her forehead against his. "I like you. I like talking to you, and hugging you, and sitting here, actually" His lap was comfortable. Chairs were always so-so. She'd never tried human laps before. Rii then stretched out her free hand to rest over his chest, wrapped as it was. "So I would like to take this further. Though I'm not sure what that means for Hylians. Lovers? Is that alright?"
Then she removed her hand from his mouth again.

All of Argoth's anxiety instantly vanished when the words, "I like you" came from Rii's lips. He liked being this close to Rii. Her forehead rested on his while she sat on his lap. Her other hand gently touching his wrapped chest while she spoke. Argoth didn't really care what they called it as long as Rii was his to have. A smile brighter than the sun appeared on his face and when she removed her hand from his lips he wasted no time in pressing them to hers. He left all of his emotion in that kiss. Every word he could have said to match hers, every movement he could have made to reassure her, every facial expression or body language he could have expressed. All of it was there in that kiss. He wished the bandages were no longer on his chest so he could truly have that do-over Rii had talked of earlier, but he knew that because they were still on his chest, Rii would not complete her promise. That was fine with him though. He could wait.
While thoughts of the recent events flooded his mind, he had forgotten to pull away from the kiss he was bestowing upon Rii. He had no idea how long he had been pressed up against her face but to be honest he really didn't care. It felt so right that he could have been there forever for all he knew. Ending the kiss Argoth looked into Rii's gorgeous green eyes, "Lovers is fine with me."

Already knowing she would likely never find herself pulling away from a kiss with Argoth, Rii thoroughly enjoyed his reaction the second time around, once her words were to his satisfaction.
"Lovers is fine with me."
Rii smiled and kissed him again, pleased with this reaction too. When she pulled away, still breathless from both of the rather long kisses they'd shared, she leaned forward and rested her head against his shoulder. listening for his heart beat. She caught it faintly in the confines of his chest and, because for whatever reason she felt it absolutely necessary, she kissed the base of his throat upon hearing it and sighed happily. "Me too," Rii murmured with a glow about her as she adjusted herself in his lap so she could finish sewing up her own tunic with the new purple and the ring from her pack. It only took her around a minute, as she simply had to wrap part of the cloth around half the ring and stitch it so the ring would never escape. She did the same with the white cloth and her revamped tunic was complete. "And now we can both get dressed in the morning," she rejoiced lightly, tossing the needle and thread into her pack and stretching, careful not to lean back against Argoth because of his wounds. Then she cast a glance over at Argoth before going to move off of him. "Speaking of which, you. Sleep. Alright?"
