Azrael's eyes shifted up to the top of Kell's head as he lifted up his hat to reveal the snoring fairy resting amongst the locks of his hair.
The monk blinked and let out a chuckle.
"The sprout and I don't quite see eye to eye so you don't have to worry about me narcing to him about your narcoleptic firefly." Az said in a reassuring tone as he snapped his fingers, seeing if he could get the fairy to wake up.
"Lazy little shit..." Az thought. The guardian fairies are supposed to help and guide their assigned Kokiri, not take naps under their caps. But... who is he to judge? He had a job to do as well and was passed out in the leaves.
His mission got a whole lot more complicated. Az had been following the spiritual energy of a very ancient and unknown entity. The Sheikah monk had never felt this presence before and could not find any record of the energy in any book nor did any magic user know of such an entity until an old man he met in a dark ally told him to check the Lost Woods. Usually Az would not listen to the words of an old man... except this old man was King Rauru IV who ruled over 200 years ago.
The monk shook his head and looked over at Rolaka
"Unless any of your Goron brothers had horns then I suggest you take a few steps back. Don't run over Squirrel." Az said, reaching towards his belt. Upon his belt sat a few gourd bottles with an interesting symbol painted on it in a black ink.

"A dangerous quest to meet a witch and ask her for exploding flowers? Count me in!"
Before they left, she would need to gather her things. Vai began collecting her korok seeds and dumping them in her pack. She did not get far though, as Kell soon revealed his fairy. The Gerudo's green eyes lit up at the sight, and she rushed over. "Ooooooh! You have a fairy?!" she exclaimed, poking him in the belly. "He's already getting plump!" She did not have a chance to ask when Kell was planning on eating him, because the goron spoke up then.
The goron introduced himself as Rolaka, and said he was from somewhere called Goron City. Suddenly pieces began to fall into place. About a month ago, the Old Man and Vai had found a local restaurant and decided to stop in for dinner. The place had served various bizarre dishes, including literal rocks, and one amazing one. That was when she discovered curry. The Hylian who ran the place had said that the owner was on a trip to a far-off place called Goron City to get more Goron spice. That suddenly made a lot of sense, hearing Rolaka speak. And the things he said were wonderous. She found herself gravitating toward Rolaka.
"Hold on, big guy. You're telling me that you come from a place with pit-fighting, rivers of lava, and plants that explode with flavor and... explosions?" Vai asked, her eyes glazed over as if she were already there. "You have to take me there! I bet I could be a pit-fighting champ, too!"

Kell spoke up excitedly. "We'll be passing right by there! We can stop in for supplies, if you want. Like I said earlier, the way to Borma's dwelling is really dangerous this time of year. The fire keese must've hatched a couple of weeks ago. It wouldn't hurt to supply yourself with healing potions and maybe a long-range weapon, if you don't have one."
Kell took a wooden slingshot off his belt and pulled the empty sling back as if to shoot, his tongue was sticking out as he squinted with one eye to aim at the trees.
"We don't wanna wait much longer." He said putting his slingshot away and feeling fierce alongside his new fearsome friends. "I think we should get going."
Laslo gave a loud snore as if to agree, though he certainly wasn't conscious.
And with the rest of the party's approval, they were off. Keltopher led them into the dense forest until they came upon a rather gigantic hollow tree with an entrance leading down into an underground tunnel that was bumpy with roots and winding vines.
They traveled the tunnel until they came to a branch in the path and a wooden sign that read "GORON CITY" with an arrow pointing left. The other route didn't specify what lay ahead, but that was the way to Borma's.
"What d'ya say? Should we stop in Goron City?"

Azrael walked a bit behind of the group and kept his distance a bit. While he did just stumble upon them expecting a fight of some sort and then realizing they were friendlies did not mean he trusted them as far as he could throw them.
Rolaka seemed to be the most trustworthy of these new friends. The Goron seemed unaware of the spirit that had hitched a ride in his shadow. Az patted the gourd that sat on the right side of his belt on his hip and allowed a small smile.
He had been looking for this particular one. This spirit was a rather nasty and tricky one that knew the even most well kept secrets. If any knew what he wanted to know then this one would.
"What d'ya say? Should we stop in Goron City?" Kell spoke up, this caused Azrael to look over at the wooden sign in front of them.
Goron City
Az could feel the pull towards the city of the Gorons and for a moment pondered why this feeling was coming to him. It almost felt like a voice. If one were calling to him from a long distance in a cave mixed with the sound of a million electric Keese flapping their wings at the same time.
"I wouldn't mind stopping in Goron City. Been meaning to pick up some Goron Spice for my Fire Like-Like oyster." Azrael said, reaching deep within his brown robe for his rupee wallet on the left side of body.
Still damn full.
"Huh... either I got better at pickpocketing or that dream I had winning all of those Termina Hold em games was real." Az thought, shrugging slightly as he shifted himself, as he pulled his hand back out his fingers graced along the hilt of his new weapon.
Sometimes he swore the voice came from within the sword. Lately he had been too drunk to even think about it or too deep in the next dark supernatural thing he had stumbled upon.
Perhaps once he can get back to The Sleeping Giant in Clock Town he could rent a room (Gran Gran gave him free lifetime stay at the inn after slaying a rather nasty box demon who took up residence in the latest shipment of limes from the Faron region) and figure out if it was a spirit within the sword or a key to someone or something's dimension or prison.
After all... he did not even know it's name.

Rolaka did not dwell much on the new company he found himself in. While they certainly had spunk, Rolaka could only assume they were civilians for the time being. He swore to correct his error with the boy, and that was enough for him. As Keltopher lead them through the Lost Woods, Rolaka followed immediately behind, ready to move at the sight of danger. However, that danger never came, Kell clearly knew these woods well. Along the way, he had been pestered by the young Gerudo girl. Vai assaulted Rolaka with her curiosity about Goron City and Death Mountain at-large. He chose not to answer too definitively, not simply because her endless inquiry wore on his nerves, but because she would soon see for herself the wonders of the Mountain.
As the party came to the crossroads in the tunnel, Kell called for a vote to visit Goron City. Kell seemed to need supplies, Azrael showed his interest, and Rolaka was surprised Vai hadn't immediately bolted down the left passage to the City. "Oh, I suppose we can rest there for a... few minutes." He shot a sly grin down at Vai, who looked as though she herself would start exploding in fireworks.
Typically, only outsiders deemed worthy or granted special permissions could enter the City. However, in recent months, the Goron Elder(s?) had changed positions on Goron isolation and allowed all types to tour and trade with their people. In a time not so long ago, walking into the Goron's capital with three strangers would have been considered a massive breach in security. Nowadays, Rolaka was giving the Elders exactly what they wanted.
At least now they won't think I've gone AWOL... he thought.

"Yes! We should definitely stop for… supplies… or something." Vai beamed back up at Rolaka.
She was dying to get out of these tunnels. Endless hours of trudging through a dimly lit tunnel and token conversation had driven her up the wall. Literally. To alleviate the boredom she had tried walking on the ceiling after the first hour. The novelty of seeing her companions walking upside down had worn off quicker than she had expected. Plus she had started to fall behind because her sticky walk was slightly slower than a normal walking pace.
Then, she had harassed Rolaka mercilessly with questions about Goron City, then Goron culture, then a rather uncomfortable detour into Goron biology, then Goron cuisine, then… well, it went on like that long enough to drive even the most patient Goron mad.
Now, though, they were nearly there, and she bubbled with excitement. Vai started off down the path to Goron City ahead of the others, not looking to see if they followed.

Kell laughed happily and chased after Vai down the tunnel. He was thoroughly enjoying the company of his new friends; the fist bump from Rolaka instilled an immediate trust and big brother-like bond, Azraels talk of cooking made him eager to share a meal with the cool and mysterious spirit talker, and Vai’s sticky ceiling walking shenanigans amused him to no end as he tried leaping up to reach her overhead on their journey there.
As the group entered Goron City, they were greeted with warm air and the rich earthly smells of soil and stone. The walls were decorated in goron murals and symbols painted with red clay and depicting a long history of their founding and the royal goron family. One illustration showed a large serpent like dragon breathing fire as it rose from the center of Death Mountain.
The city was rumbling with life. Goron merchants hawked their wares on a mid-level tier around the city’s center and sold everything from bomb-flowers to rock-sirloin and various salt and mineral powders. A goron tailor was fitting a patron to a fire-resistant tunic while another interested customer admired a pair of rock-like gauntlets. Another merchant had a dazzling display of gems and ores claiming that certain ones had specific mystical qualities of the elemental nature. And then there was your standard potions-maker selling elixirs of healing and various viles of cooling, luck, and strengthening abilities.
Aside from the market, there was no shortage of activity. A game of chess with stone-carved figurine pieces in the shapes of different races was being played by a couple of studious looking gorons, children played marbles and bowling here and there. One male goron coaxed patrons to enter a test of strength to win a stone boomerang with an ice-like gem inlaid in the elbow of the weapon.
There were also flyers for pit fighting events and several champions were posted up along various walls and bulletin areas with nearby groups of gamblers exchanging bets. Perhaps there was one of Rolaka.
“Welcome to Goron City!!” Kell lifted his arms up in excitement while he spun around gesturing with bright eyes at the wonder of it all. The beat of drums and the bustling atmosphere seemed to welcome their arrival.
—— Lots to engage with here. Feel free to interact with anything previously mentioned or makeup whatever you like! It’s Goron City, y’all! *Woot woot*
