Eldrin jumped to his feet and followed the young assassin. After surveying the shop for several minutes, Eldrin decided to capitalize on Max's age. "Okay, you go in there and act like you're lost and can't find your father. When the shopkeeper helps you look for him identify Mike as your dad. In the meantime I'll be stealing some poles." He said to Max. "Oh, and remember to act cute and innocent and helpless and all that junk!" The thief said, disappearing into some shrubs.

Maximus smiled and winked at Eldrin, "I got this," he said rubbing his eyes and forcing tears to his eyes. He put on an innocent distressed face and wandered into the fishing shop. The man behind the counter didn't notice him at first, he was engrossed in a book with his feet on the countertop. Maximus let out a small giggle but not loud enough to be heard by the clerk. He walked up to the counter and lightly poked the man's shoes. With the best innocent and helpless voice he could muster max asked, "Uhm, sir, can you help me?"
The shop owner looked up over his book and returned his feet to the floor. He rested his book on the counter and smiled, leaning in to say, "Sure kid, what do you need."
Max looked down at the ground and wiped a tear from his eye, "I'm lost...I can't seem to find my daddy. Can you help me find him?"
The man stood up and looked around, he seemed a bit anxious to leave the store unattended but walked around to meet Max on the other side anyway. "Absolutely," he comforted bending down on one knee to look at the nine year old boy, "Where did you see him last?"
Max turned around toward the door, "We were out there, sitting by the pond. I dozed off for a bit. And when I woke up he wasn't anywhere I looked around but couldn't find him. So I came here for help," he explained.
The shop owner placed a hand on Max's shoulder and smiled at him, "Don't worry kid, we'll find him. Whaddya say we go outside and take a look?" Come on." The man led Max outside the door and they wandered off a little left to the entranc.
Alrigth Edlrin, head on in, Max thought.

Eldrin snickered and slipped into the shop unnoticed. He walked around the store picking up three fishing rods, a tacklebox, the shop owner's book, and more bait than they could ever need. He slipped out the back of the shop and put all of the ill gotten fishing supplies by Mike, then he went to get Max.
"Hey! Maxey!" He said, running over to Max and the shop owner. "Me 'n Dad've been lookin' everywhere fer ya!" He said, putting on a random accent for no good reason. "What'choo doin' over here? Well, c'mon then! Let's get goin'!" He said grabbing Max by the arm and dragging him off to where Mike lay.
The thief dropped into the grass next to Mike and laughed. "Beautiful, kid! I'll make a thief outa you yet!"

"You will be a terrible father," Mike commented in a near monotone voice. "Argoth would be disappointed in you." He didn't move, he remained completly still and still had his eyes shut. He still hoped he could sleep.

The store manager blinked a couple of times as Eldrin swooped in and seized Maximus. He scratched his head in a 'whatever' type of manner and returned his shop.
Max laughed as he sat down next to Mike, "Psshh, Argoth wouldn't care, we're just having a little fun. Hey Eldrin you wanna have a contest as to who can catch the most fish?" he challenged looking over at the thief.

(Alright, I'm becoming increasingly impatient with this thread, so now I will insert the plot.)
"Don't tire yourself, it's a nice day so relax. I promise you, you'll feel great," Mike suggested. "Then again, I not saying you can't have fun. I'm just saying you should-" He was interrupted mid-sentence by an arrow that suddenly flew from the trees above. Mike caught the arrow with only his thumb and index finger only and inch from his left eye. His eyes snapped open and he had a small amount of anger on his face, most likely because his day off was ruined.
He stood and looked in the direction the arrow had come from, a rustle was in the trees in the northwest. The disturbance in the branches had ceased, the one responsible had fled. However, the arrow had a note attached.Who would have the courage to disrupt my day? He thought. He picked off the letter, opened it, and read the message.
Mike,
It's been a long time since we seen one another. And I believe we have some unfinished business that we should really take care of. I'll be waiting for our big reunion... atop Death Mountain, he he he he he! Hope to see you soon, if you survive HAHA!
Your 'friend'- Kei
Mike's face wa full of anger at this point, "Kei," he repeated in a gruff angered tone. He crumpled up the note, stuck it back onto the arrow, and threw said arrow like a kunai. It stuck into a tree on the far side of the lake. Without even telling his friends about the situation, Mike leaped into the trees and quickly traveled across the tops. This time, you die. Mike thought as he jumped across the branches.

Maximus had just cast his pole into the water when Mike took off intot he trees. He hadn't noticed the arrow or the note that were sent to Mike for he was too engrossed in beating Eldrin at fishing. "Hey! Where you going!" Max yelled after him, getting up and following at roughly the same speed.

Unlike Max, Eldrin was in less of a hurry to chase Mike. Rather, he calmly made his way to the other side of the lake and read Kei's note. "Hm... Another ninja fight?" He muttered to himself. He shrugged and walked in the direction of Death Mountain, pocketing the note.
