Ahhh! I just got back from the midnight premier!!! 3 hours long, sooo good. GO SEE THAT MOVIE AND DON'T WASTE ANY TIME! Go now I'm totally not going to class tomorrow. After the 3 hour movie, we had to jump start our car AND, the cops pulled us over for expired tags of one freakin' day. So now it's 4:30 and I'm about to pass out. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Did you guys hear about the mass shooting at the premier in Colorado? Some nut job opened fire and killed 14(?) people. 38 wounded. As much as I am tempted to make a joke, I shan't.

I fail to see how it would be funny, but ok.

So I lied a little bit. I just got out of the theater...I'm with Kadina on this one, this movie is absolutely amazing, go see it as soon as you possibly can.

Yeahhhh-no. I'm not really a Batman fan number one and two, it seems to be unfair that these poor people at Aurora were shot and killed by some freaking nutjob who thinks he's the damn Joker just because they wanted to see a movie. . .

It's also unfair to the filmmakers and people who put a lot of time and effort into this 3 hour movie only to have people not see it because of one man's sick decision.

Okay guys, enough about the shooting. I understand it was horrible and all, but we aren't here to discuss such heinous things. This should be about the movie and how great it was. You know, happy things, not sad, violent things.

No one's brushing it off. I've seen it on Tumblr, on Facebook, on the news, on the internet, and it's all my family talked about for two hours. I've had it with being depressed today. It scares me to think that I can enter a theatre under the impression that I'll be home in three hours with stories of how bad or hilarious or amazing a movie was, and then never return. But I've seen people discuss this topic, and if it doesn't boil down to them wanting the guy to get the electric chair (where the topic then goes on to death penalty discussion) it goes on to the NRA and the 2nd amendment, and it gets messy. There are some who just purely talk about how tragic it is, so I'm not saying it's not worth talking about or that nothing meaningful comes out of it. It was beyond sad to hear that news. But this thread was created to discuss the actual movie from what I can tell, and they're talking about the death everywhere else.
Just an opinion.
I haven't seen the movie myself. I keep getting mixed reviews on it. Plus, I have a dark secret... I haven't seen any Batman movies. Shhh, don't tell anyone..

Slow down there Lien. Nobody brushed off anything. The thread was created to discuss the movie. Not to discuss a horrific shooting that I have already seen enough of today.
I haven't checked yet Rii but I'm pretty sure that is a federal offense. You might want to watch Batman Begins or The Dark Knight before the fuzz show up at your door;)
Haha, I kid I kid...or am I?

I really want to, but I feel like I should read the comic books first, which sounds time consuming. Is that necessary to enjoy the movies, or can I get away without reading the books?

Oh pshh. I havent read any batman comics, but then again I knew all about him before I watched the movies. No, you dont need to ready anything. Batman Begins will give you what you need to know and then the rest is as follows.

The movies barely follow the comic book storylines.
It is a great movie.
The ending really blew my mind.
