Eldrin walked through Clock Town, humming his lullaby softly. His face was painted with black scrollwork patterns of several curvy lines branching off into others, curling, swirling, coiling, stopping abruptly. The lines had blunt ends, sharp ends and some even had dots at the end. The overall affect of this odd pattern gave the impression that the thief's face was being covered in strange, wicked vines and tendrils of darkness. A few passersby stopped and stared, some even questioned him about it. The thief just smiled and ignored them, which they found quite rude. Oddly, every person that walked away from the cheerful thief found themselves to feel a bit lighter. Perhaps the young man's pleasant demeanor and state of permanent bliss warmed their hearts and improved their mood... Or perhaps they were just missing a couple rupees and any jewelry they had been wearing... Eldrin's destination was a mystery even to himself. As usual he was unsure of why he was where he was or what he was doing there. In fact, he wouldn't have even known where he was if Clock Tower didn't loom ominously over the entire city as a constant reminder to the people of their oppression in the cruel hands of time... Or as a happy beacon of hope and treasured landmark... Whichever you preferred. Suddenly he stopped in his tracks. Several people behind him were startled by this abrupt halt and grumbled at him as they walked away. The thief didn't care. His wide eyes were fixated on two people ahead of him. An unnervingly tall woman wearing a long black leather overcoat with the Gerudo symbol on the back. Her red hair ran down her back in an simple but long braid. Next to her stood a young boy, almost a foot shorter than the woman. He wore a blindingly white cowl with the hood down, revealing his short light brown hair. The inside of the hood was visibly a very vibrant blue. His right arm was covered by the cape of his cowl, but Eldrin knew that it was made of strange white stone. They were both standing with their backs to the thief. The woman was staring at Clock Tower and the boy was looking up at the woman. Instantly Eldrin was filled with mixed emotions. Fear, no, terror, at seeing the woman. Yet, he was excited to see the boy, overjoyed in fact. "I knew it! He's alive... But what is he doing with her?!" He thought, smiling nervously. He weighed his options. [/b] Scram now and escape the woman but not see the boy. B. Stay and face her but get reunited with the boy. [/ul] Not very good choices... But then again... [/b] Scram now and escape the woman, then track them down later when she isn't around and get reunited with the boy. [/ul] He snickered deviously at his new plan and turned, sneaking quietly away. "I've already noticed you Eldrin. Run if you want, but we both know it is folly." The woman's voice rang out, stopping the thief in his tracks. She still wasn't facing him. Her voice was harsh and chastizing... A condition as permanent as Eldrin's happiness. Dismayed, Eldrin walked over to the woman. "Run? Of course not! I was going to walk away... Very quickly..." He said chuckling nervously. "You never change..." She muttered, sighing. "Come, let us head to the Stock Pot. I am quite parched from our journey." She said, walking away at a brisk pace. "Which means she's not drunk enough yet." Eldrin whispered to the boy. The boy stifled a laugh and instead smiled at Eldrin in response. "She drank four bottles of rum this morning... Said it was to wake her up." He commented. Eldrin chuckled. "That's Ayishe for ya," He said, smiling at the boy. "So how've you been, Sayo? Guess I taught you to play dead pretty well, huh?"Sayo smiled. "Sorry... I had too. We'll explain later." He said, looking guilty. "It's ok," He said. Then, without warning, he embraced Sayo in a hug. Sayo gasped, partially because Eldrin was crushing him, but mainly because it was unlike the thief to show affection so directly. He smiled and returned the hug. "If you two are done," Ayishe said suddenly, staring at them. "I need alcohol to wash down all this sincerity."The two broke away from each other, both a bit red in the face. They followed Ayishe off to the bar, fearing her wrath should she have to wait too long for her booze. The bar was barren, devoid of any patrons other than the strange trio. Ayishe ordered three bottles of rum from the bartender. A man that seemed to be afraid of her just by her appearance and voice. "Ayishe, you know I'm too young to drink. And I would rather not anyway." Sayo corrected her. Ayishe laughed, she had a loud, harsh laugh. "Fool, that was for me! Order your own drinks." She said, her tone condescending. Eldrin ordered a bottle of rum for himself and Sayo got water. A love of rum was one of the many things Ayishe had passed to Eldrin. Along with her lyre, an unexplained hatred of goats, and her fighting style. The man brought them their order and immediately Ayishe chugged the first bottle's contents. She slammed the bottle down with a thud! then belched loudly. She wiped away a little rum that had drizzled down her chin and asked in a gruff tone, "So, what have you been up to lately?"(This thread is a carefree thread. It has no purpose but to reintroduce Ayishe and Sayo, which it has already done. From this point you guys can take it wherever you wish. You can kind of consider it the same as Waterin' Hole but with a longer opening post. Just don't expect me to lead you guys through some kind of plot 'cause I'm too lazy right now! ;D)

Faro was sitting a table in the middle of the inn when Eldrin and the others came in. His back was to them, but a red eye stared at the newcomers from the darkness. In truth, I'm starting to get bored of this one. Malevolence said, peering at Eldrin from a shadow. Everywhere he goes, we're there, everywhere we go, he's there. It's tiring.
Regardless of our attitude toward him, these meetings often prove useful. He plays a large part in shaping Hyrule's future, whether he knows it or not. Left to his own devices, only the goddesses know what would come of it. Not to mention he just brought two new players into our game, and they're both far more than what they seem. Faro explained.
Are you sure? A cursed child and a drunk are hardly credible threats. Malevolence replied.
You forget what Chandrea and I are. We'll listen and learn.
Alright then. And Chandrea's not a bad drunk.
Not a good one either, now be quiet. Malevolence fell silent, and Faro trained his ears on the conversation behind him.

Maximus crept into the inn as silently as he could. There was a massive playful grin stretched across his face. He was slowly coming up upon Eldrin as he leaped onto his back he yelled, "Hi Eldrin!!
Icylius swung his feet over his bed and yawned. He rubbed his eyes with his fists and slowly rose to his feet. Icylius had grown weary of sleeping in the Lost Woods and thought for just a couple nights he would stay in the inn. The only person he really had to deal with was the clerk, and he wasn't so bad. He grabbed his clothes from the end of his bed and yanked them onto his body. Today was his last day to stay so after dressing himself Icylius made his way to door and exited his room. He sighed and brushed a hand through his hair as he staggered down the stairs. Halfway down he realized that Eldrin and Max were there too. He stopped mid action, leaving his hand resting upon his neck. Dammit.. he thought, letting out another sigh of annoyance.

Eldrin jumped up onto the table, struggling with the young assassin. Finally, he flipped Maximus over his back and held him in a headlock. "Hey Max!" He said, laughing.
Sayo had been startled by Max's sudden entry, but relaxed when it became apparent that Eldrin knew him. He examined the boy that Eldrin was wrestling with. He was obviously several years younger than Sayo, yet he seemed to be in great shape for his age. Of course, Sayo was in fine shape himself. He had to be since Ayishe and Eldrin were pretty much the closest thing he had to family. Neither of them were gentle people, and half the time he was dragged into their trouble and was forced to fight alongside Ayishe, or keep up with Eldrin as they fled.
"Oh yeah! Maximus, this is Ayishe, my crazy b**ch of a mentor. And the other one is Sayo, my slave!" Eldrin said, releasing Max and sitting back down.
Sayo smiled and Max and held out his right arm to shake. As soon as he saw the white stone in place of his skin he retracted the arm and concealed it behind his cape. Instead he offered his left hand. "Don't listen to him, he just doesn't want to sound like a good guy. He rescued me from slavery and took me in." He explained, hoping Maximus hadn't noticed his arm.
Ayishe didn't acknowledge Maximus. She was distracted by something behind Eldrin. She was watching a man sitting with his back to Eldrin. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion as she sipped from her second bottle. She had a bad feeling about the man. She could feel something radiating off of him. Something dark... Ill-intent, spite maybe... Malignity, malice... Or, perhaps malevolence.
Eldrin was just about to defend himself against Sayo's comment when he saw Icylius coming down the stairs. His face lit up with a smile as he waved at Icylius.

Maximus giggled happily as he and Eldrin wrestled on the table. After the thief had put him down and introduced him Max grinned at Sayo and shook his hand politely, taking no notice of his right arm. "Nice to meet you!" After greeting the young man Max turned to Ayishe, "Hello miss! Nice to meet you!
Icylius grimaced at Eldrin, he still hadn't liked him. He did his best to walk toward the door without the young boy noticing him. Or else he would have to stay here with everyone else.

Strong, long fingers reached for the glass the bartender set in front of a particular hooded figure and as those fingers clasped the glass, the glass froze on contact. The glass disappeared into the cowl of the man's cloak, and as he threw his head back to drink the amber contents of which, his hood came off. The glass coated in ice, the man slammed his glass back down, shaking his head slightly. Klaus Solas rubbed his hand down the knee of his crippled leg, as if trying to coax the pain away.
Sitting next to him was a small short haired white goat, sitting on his bottom on the bar stool. A silver bell hung at his throat by a weathered rope. Noodles bleated and scratched behind his ear with his one hind leg, his bell ringing sweetly as he did so. Running a hand through his pitch black hair, the man looked more haggard than usual, his glacier colored eyes rather dull as opposed to their cynic glint. He didn't look up as a younger man sat down on the bar stool to his left.
"Well? Anything?" he prompted impatiently, closing his eyes. The younger man pulled back the hood of his own cloak, his light brown hair falling free from its restraint at the back of his neck. His skin almost matched his hair, being it was a dusky caramel color. The only thing that differed was his one ice colored eye and one bright green eye and an angry, white scar that ran across both cheeks and over the bridge of his nose
"Scotch for me. What did you give this man? Port? No. Bootstrap whiskey for this old bastard here," the young man said, slapping down several rupees. Bootstrap whiskey must be understood that it is the strongest, bitterest, nastiest stuff ever brewed, made with whatever was at hand, often time old boots, thus the name bootstrap. The bartender scooped up the money and laid their drinks out in front of them, walking away and Klaus glared tiredly at both of them, but still drank the stuff, sighing afterwards, swaying.
"Halt. Is it so bad that you simply must intoxicate me into an early death? The things you buy me, it'll pickle my liver before I reach a respectable age," Klaus grumbled to the man. Halt smiled, the scar on his face whitening even more, but didn't mar his good looks.
" You still drank it, didn't you? I don't see you complaining," he said ruefully. Klaus shrugged. "There's sober beggar children in the poorer districts of this city...wouldn't want precious liquor to be wasted for their sakes. Enough with this, spit it out," he told Halt. Halt leaned in, ignoring the pull of Noodles's teeth on his pantleg. After a moment of hushed relaying of information, Klaus paled visibly. "Here?" he questioned softly, the glass breaking in his hand as his grip tightnened. Halt looked out towards the booths and nodded.
"Asrin's son. Eldrin. Merciful gods of our country, help us all..." he muttered, downing the rest of his bootstrap liquor and sighing.

Ayishe pushed Max off of the table with what she considered a light shove. "Great, another brat to harrass me..." She said absentmindedly.
Seeing Icylius starting to leave, Eldrin caught Max and placed him on his feet. "Go get him!" He said, giving Max a nudge toward Icylius. He knew Icylius wouldn't be able to fight against Max's advances
Then at the sound of the goat's bell, both Ayishe's and Eldrin's heads snapped in its direction. They both glared at Noodles for a while before they both recognized the goat. While Eldrin's eyes focused on the bell, Ayishe's drifted to the crippled man sitting next to it. Suddenly the bottle of rum in her hand shattered, spraying alcohol across the table.
Sayo sighed, he could tell by their reactions that they were both about to make a scene. "Ok... What's going on?" He asked, staring between them and the man and goat.
"Klaus... Solas..." Ayishe growled, her voice trembling with rage. Then, before Eldrin or Sayo could ask, she jumped onto the table, drawing her dual scimitars. Eldrin stared up at his mentor in shock. Usually he was the one who jumped onto tables... Then Ayishe let out a fierce battle cry and launched herself across the room, aiming her scimitars to stab into Klaus's back.
Eldrin ran at Noodle's as this happened, figuring he could steal the bell in all the distraction.

"...Halt, why didn't you tell me about her?" Klaus asked in a soft, condescending voice. Halt scratched his head sheepishly. "Didn't think she'd notice you.." he muttered. "This appears it calls for Plan B and 1/2. Secure the object...Now," he said calmly, then suddenly leapt out of the bar stool with shocking agility and speed for a crippled middle aged man, and out of harm's way. Halt scooped Noodles up and back flipped to the other side of the bar, the goat safe in his arms, dully butting his head against the man's chin with a bleat.

Post by Kadina on Aug 10, 2011 12:50:19 GMT -6
Kadina had been at the bar all afternoon. She had just gotten back from an exhausting journey from Snowhead in hopes of finding more information on the timepiece. After spending a whole two days in the freezing cold for absolutely no lead, she wanted nothing more than to get drunk and spend a night out thieving the streets and homes of precious little Clock Town just to see what adventures she could stir up. She called them adventures. The royal guards called it trouble. After two rounds of rum, she decided both terms were perfectly alright with her.
Kadina sat at the bar tracing pictures with her thumb through the condensation on her mug. She thought warmly of her friends and her pet horse Kitty when her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the slamming of a bottle on countertop followed by the loudest belch she had ever heard. She looked up to see the woman responsible and a twinkle filled her eyes. "She's.... awesome..." Kadina's speech was slurred as she spoke aloud to no one. She then slid off her stool and began to approach the woman when she noticed a few of her friends. "Eldrin! Max!"
Forgetting all about the lady, Kadina hurried to greet her friends. After saying hello, she took notice of Icylius, but paid no mind to him. They hadn't properly met.
Once Eldrin had encourage Max to get Icylius, Kadina was about to ask who he was but found Eldrin to be suddenly entranced by the bell of a nearby goat. "Awe... no fair." She crossed her arms in disappointment. Deciding long ago that if they were to be both thieves and friends, whoever had their eye on an object worth stealing first had automatic dibs. That's unless they wanted to share their spoils, but both, being greedy, had never brought that up in discussion. However, they rarely stuck to the rules and challenged one another either by rupee toss, rock paper scissors, or a duel.
Kadina wasn't expecting the outbreak that soon occurred. The woman was suddenly standing atop the bar with her weapons pointed at the goat owner. "Does she want the bell too? What the hell is with this damn bell?" She started to wonder if it contained some sort of power. If so, a duel was in consideration. Any object with magical power was worth flipping for. She couldn't give it up that easily.
"Wait... Eldrin, aren't you scared of goats? I think you should let me take this one, eh? I could get it for you." She smiled a devious smile trying to negotiate with her fellow thief.

The woman has a marked dislike of Klaus Solas, and Eldrin is afraid of goats. Why do I feel like that's all we're going to get? Faro asked telepatically.
Because every time we leave Ganon's castle we end up surrounded by idiots. Malevolence replied. An awkward silence followed. What?
Was that a joke?
...I can't rightly say.
Regardless, it's about time we either throw ourselves in with Eldrin again, or collect debts from Ganon's investors. There was hardly a choice to be made. He reached inside his coat and produced a small bag of rupees. He got up and turned to the bar so Eldrin could see his face. "Hey barkeep, another round. Let's see if anyone here is man enough to outdrink your most lively customer." He tossed the bag to the man, he opened it and found a red rupee. He got to work preparing the drinks. Faro turned to Eldrin and the others, but Eldrin was the only one he recognized. "Eldrin, our paths cross again."

Max giggled as Ayishe shoved him off the counter. He already liked her, simply because she didn't like him. "We're gonna be friends some day, Ayishe," Max smiled at her as Eldrin caught him and set him upright. Then he heard him say Icylius was in the room and he immediately shifted toward the doorway. "Heyyy! Where do you think you're going! Come back here and have fun with us," Max suggested running over to the anti-social teen.
Too late. The boy was already on his way over to Icylius and he sighed heavily as Max grabbed onto his hand. The little assassin dragged him all the way back over to Eldrin and he suddenly found an new face in the room.
"Kadina!!" Max yelled jumping onto her with a huge grin on his face.
Of course, Max knows everyone, Icylius thought shaking his head with a smile that one could only tell it was on his face if they actually got a good look at him. Suddenly the woman next to him jumped onto the table and withdrew her weapons, staring at the man across the bar. What the hell is her problem?
Max slipped off of his favorite female thief but remained hanging on her arm. "Kadina, I want you to meet a friend of mine, this is Icylius. He doesn't like people," the boy whipsered gesturing to Icylius.
Icylius looked at Kadina, the little one seemed to really like her. "uh, hi." He greeted, but hadn't really known why.

Eldrin smiled. "I'm not afraid of them... I hate them..." He replied, backing up as Halt grabbed the goat.
Ayishe's scimitars stabbed into the counter as she landed on Klaus's bar stool. She left them where they were and continued to attack, now unarmed. "Where... Is... She?!" She asked, accompanying the first two words with a punch and the last with a twist kick.
Eldrin was just about to tell Kadina his newest wild (and slightly dumb) scheme when Faro challenged the entire bar to a drinking contest. He smiled when the Ganon follower addressed him. "Indeed... Well then... Let's drink!" He cried, nudging Kadina meaningfully. He sat down at the bar next to Ayishe's scimitars and waited for his drink. As he waited he smiled at the man holding the goat. "And won't you be drinking?" He asked, smiling pleasantly. "I'm sure my friend here would be happy to reward you if you won." He said, gesturing toward Kadina. Of course, by "reward" he meant "kick your drunken ass and steal your goat and its bell"... But Halt didn't need to know that.
Sayo sighed and stood up. "This can only end badly..." He muttered, looking between Ayishe and Eldrin.

Torak looked across the little town, a storm had started up and it slowly started to sprinkle...then it turned heavy and violent. The Master Assassin leapt down from his perch and landed in a puddle.
"Oh damn...I got my robes all wet.."he jokingly said, the wetness was the least of his worries. The storm was quickly picking up and a large gust of wind almost knocked the Carnavorian on his back. He raised his right arm to shield his eyes from the wind as he looked for shelter, the nearest place was the Stock Pot Inn.
He raced towards it and opened the door and quickly shut it, he stood in the entrance dripping wet and he walked in.
"Good evening, sir." Anju said, bowing.
"I'm not interested in a room, ma'am. Only hot food and a tankard of mead." He said, passing by with a wave of his hand as a greeting and walked into the bar.
He sighed as he saw some of his allies starting a drinking contest. "They're lucky they are not in the Order.." he thought before heading towards the bar.

Klaus dodged her punches and blocked her kick with his cane, then promptly pushed himself away from her. Twisting the flat handle of the cane, a blade slid out silently in place of the leg of the ebon cane. "You idiot woman, don't flatter yourself by indulging in the childish fantasy that I have Aayla. She is gone, by your fault and yours alone, so don't blame me! You only add insult to injury, knowing that Thea and I have always wanted one of our own...don't put us at fault for losing your own daughter!" he said vehemently, pointing the blade at her in a ready position. "You've gotten soft, Ayishe. You should've saved her. You should still have her," he said, his voice at a near whisper, his tone losing only a fraction of its edge. But his hand was steady, his stance masterfully relaxed and loose, but ready to burst into action in an instant.
Halt watched his mentor and Ayishe fight, then brought his attention back to Eldrin. "None for me, I don't drink until after three, sorry. But Noodles is more than happy to join your contest; he's a natural liquor sponge. One for the goat!" he called to the bartender, and the portly man gave him a glass. Still holding the goat, he tipped the drink into the goat's mouth, and Noodles chugged it down in less than a moment happily. He belched, and kicked his three legs joyfully, looking around for more with a pleading bleat. The bartender, catching on, set more drinks on the bar for the goat, realizing that it was going to be a while before the small goat quit. Halt smiled apologetically, but shifted the goat in his arm as he was holding the fourth glass that the goat was already polishing off.

Maximus hadn't waited for a reply from the thief woman for the fight that broke out bothered him. This place was not for fighting, it was for relaxing and having a good time. Max let go of Kadina's arm and stomped over to the fighting pair. He stopped right inbetween them. "Enough!" the boy yelled, spreading out his arms toward each of them. "Now isn't the time to fight. We're all here to have a good time, so stop it. I don't know what is going on between you two but it will NOT become a problem here. Max spoke as if he were an adult. He knew he had little chance of actually persuading either of them to put aside their differences but he refused to let them fight in a time where peace was so badly needed. Max glanced at them both, looking back and forth to see what their response would be.
Icylius looked over at the boy and couldn't help but admire his courage. The boy stood up to that crazy woman and her victim without any hesitation at all. And to further his admiration of the child what he was saying was actually right. The inn was a place for battle, and if things got bad Icylius prepared himself to assist the young one, shifting a little and staring over at them.
