(We do need more Zelda characters in here...I'm assuming that Link left Epona back in Hyrule and took one of the Royal Family's horses when he left with Zelda...)
Artie leapt over the fence that surrounded Lon Lon Ranch. It was dark out...the moon illuminated everything in the ranch. Talon and Ingo obviously went to bed, the Hero turned Werewolf could hear the horses softly neighing in the stables and the cows loudly mooing.
His mind had not fully reverted to an animal-like state...he was not here to feast on the cattle. He was only here to remember why he was like this....
He stood on his two hind paws and he walked to the middle of the corral and sat there, he whined like a canine would as he remembered what had occured here over one year ago. He had just proposed to Malon...he had gotten Talon's blessings to propose to her...then...they were the target of a random werewolf attack. They had kidnapped Malon and bitten him in the process...he vowed to Talon that he would find his daughter and bring her back unharmed.
He had traveled across the world...He had to turn back to Hyrule when his mind started to revert...He needed to cure himself before he continued his search for Malon.
Sky flew out of his hat and rested on his shoulder, comforting him in her golden glow.
He looked around the ranch, basking in the moon light. He could see in his minds eye of past days...in which he would visit Malon and he would help her with the horses and feed the chickens. He turned his head and looked at the tree that grew next to the ranch house. That was the site of their first kiss, a lone tear fell from his right eye. He got a strange urge to howl...he knew he shouldn't...Talon or Ingo could wake up...but...he felt as though they wouldn't hear it. He started to howl...he howled a song. A song that was forgotten in his memory, after he had finished. He listened to the lingering notes that echoed in the night and recognized it as the song that Malon used to sing.
Sky got off of his shoulder as he heard the sound of hoof prints, Artie leapt into an attack position. Preparing to fight one of Ganondorf's minions...but instead...a lone horse galloped and stopped in front of him. It had a white mane and a white crest on it's face, it's tail was white and the parts above it's hooves were also white. It had a brown coat that shone in the moonlight, while it's eyes were a beautiful shade of brown.
Artie sniffed the horse and he could smell Malon on it...he could also smell someone else...one that had the scent of the forest...he looked closely at the horse and his heart dropped. "E..Epona?" he whispered, looking at the horse. He assumed the Hero of Time took her when he and the Princess left this land. He and Malon didn't ride the horses much when they left the ranch...
Artie extended a paw out to pet her, and she allowed it. She could sense who he was...despite his apperance.
"It seems you've met with a terrible fate...havn't you?" a voice spoke.
Artie twirled around and found himself face-to-face with The Happy Mask Salesman.

((You've tempted me too much with this single post))
Ink rubbed his eyes as his black hair fell in front of his face, his fromerly ragged clothes had been replaced with new, cleaner clothes. A black vest covering his torso, along with gloves reaching up to his shoulders, and black pants held to his waist by four belts that each held a blade. "This place....seems nice enough." The young boy said as he grasped at his horn, it still didn't feel like it belonged, but at the same time it felt right. "Lon Lon Ranch, why does it sound so familiar and feel so welcoming." He muttered annoyed as he passed through the front gate and headed into the ranch. The moon provided a good amount of light, allowing him to see quiet well this night really.
Ink ran his abnormal hand along the walls of the barn as he passed, his clawed fingers barely cutting into the wood leaving just scratches. His head ached but he pushed it aside, it was nice to find somewhere welcoming that felt safe, even if it was in the depth of night. "I feel at ease here." He smiled slightly as he turned to look at the corral, his eyes focused on two figures and he no longer felt as secure as before. One of his hands immediately went for a sword, resting on the pommel as he inched a bit closer.
The young boy was unsure of what to do as he looked at both men and the single horse inside the fenced area. But, he would keep to himself unless dragged into a confrontation and simply watch events unfold.

"Who...are...you?" Artie growled, he had gotten on all fours in a pouncing position. Ready to attack.
The Happy Mask Salesman chuckled before saying "We seem to have another one here among us...who has also met with a terrible fate.." He vanished from in front of Artie to standing in front of Ink.
He chuckled again before saying "There is no need to have your blade out...you are among friends!!"

Ink gasped and stumbled back, falling down out of shock. His eyes were wide, as he hurriedly moved to his feet, his eyes focusing on the abnormal man before him. "I....I don't think we're....friends." Ink said as he kept his hands close to his blades, unnerved and straining to say the last word. The man's smile was scaring him a bit as he looked at, he looked a bit too happy in a disturbing way. "Who.....eh, are you?" Ink asked unnerved as he stared back at the man.
He held his breath slightly as he unconsciously clenched his right hand, the claws scratching against the scaled skin. His head ached more as he stared at the man, and it was bothering him now more than ever "So........."

"oh ho ho...I havn't introduced myself to either of you!" The Happy Mask Salesman said he placed a hand on Ink's shoulder and they teleported back to the corral.
"I am the Happy Mask Salesman! I travel the world collecting many masks and making many people very, very happy!" The Happy Mask Salesman said, his smile seemed to glow in the moon light.
Artie sniffed the newcomer and reeled back in shock. He smelt familiar...very...very familiar.

"Okay...sure...happy....totally not scarring them." Ink said as he removed himself from the mask salesman's grasp, and stepped back a bit, his eyes watching the man every moment. He then felt his hairs stand on end as he turned and looked at the other man. "Did...did you....." Ink just stared at the person for a moment.
"Did you just sniff me?" He asked his face showing confusion and a slight look of being disturbed. "I....I....why did you sniff me?" Ink asked moving a bit back farther from the salesman.

"You smell...like old friend..." Artie replied, his ears shrank back at the response of Ink...perhaps this wasn't his old friend after all.
"Yes...yes...you two have met with very terrible fates..one the result of gruesome experiments of a mad monk...the other victim of a werewolf attack...random as it may seem...it was as planned as a play." The Happy Mask Salesman said, clapping his hands once.
Artie's ears perked back up. "You...know...who took Malon..? He asked, almost leaping with excitement. Sky had taken refuge hiding behind Artie, she was scared like Ink.

Ink had instantly hid behind the other man, his fear of the salesman over riding any logic as the boy grasped the man's tunic. "You mean Jalex....how do you know he did this?" Ink asked unnerved at the man's knowledge of events, he did not see this man when he awoke, nor did he even really know who Jalex was. But this man knew exactly what had happened to him apparently, and he felt he knew every detail of his past.
"Creepy maniac." Ink muttered as he shivered slightly, feeling as if he was being watched and like everything he knew was being laid in someone's sight. The young boy shook slightly as he felt chills run up his spine as he looked at the sales man once more before moving out of his view, even though he felt like the man could still see him.

Epona whinnied and she moved closer to Artie. The Happy Mask Salesman looked at Epona and then back again at Artie. "I believe I know how to cure you, Artie." The Happy Mask Salesman said, still grinning.
Artie's heart leapt, was this man really telling the truth? Did he know how to cure him when so many who dabble in magic did not...when even the Great Fairies themselves could not heal him.
"How...?" Artie started.
"All I ask is one little favor!"

Cure, was the word that most caught Ink's attention as he looked up at the man he was hiding behind. This was interesting, but with a maniac offering and asking for something, it didn't feel right. Or maybe Ink was just paranoid of the happy man, whom made him feel transparent.
"So.....this cre-I mean guy is going to help you?" Ink asked quietly from behind Artie as he wanted to avoid eye contact with the salesman and not be in his line of sight at all. "Creepy creeper salesman." Ink said with a shiver as he grasped his horn, something that had begun to be a nervous habit.

"I've...been like this for a year..." Artie said to Ink.
The Happy Mask Salesman looked at Artie and said "Don't worry...I'm not asking for your soul...just your aid in getting a mask!" The Happy Mask Salesman said, nodding.
Artie thought about it for a second...just a mask...he could do that.
"What sort of..mask?" Artie warily asked. "It is a legendary mask..one that has been sealed away in the Ikana Region of Termina...it is called the Darknjan Mask...little is known about it's powers...but in the old days of Ikana...it was used in bloody executions and would be worn by the High General when he would appear on the battlefield." The Happy Mask Salesman replied.

Ink shivered as the salesman spoke, this did not sound like a favor. It sounded more like a quest that would require more loss to gain a simple thing. "A year, you don't look that bad though." Ink said as he looked up at the man then at the salesman before hiding once more. "Creepy. He's not hylian at all..." Ink whispered as chills once more crept up his spine.
"Is the cure really that rare?" Ink asked curiously as he looked up at the man.

"The only thing left to corrupt...is...my mind...the curse...slowed due...to my ability...to transform...into a...wolf.."Artie replied, turning his head to be in the moonlight. It looked more like a wolf than a human head.
The Happy Mask Salesman waited paitently for Artie's response.
Artie weighed what he had on the line...he had little time left until the curse fully took over and it would be impossible to reverse...and Malon was still out there...perhaps the Happy Mask Salesman knows more.
"OK...you have deal..." Artie said.
The Happy Mask Salesman's smile seemed to get bigger...if that were possible... "You'll be wanting your true form to get this mask..so I shall reveal to you the location of the cure." The Happy Mask Salesman said, he reached into his backpack and pulled out a necklace that had the Triforce on it.
"Bring this to old hag in the Woodfall Swamp and hand her this necklace...she'll know." The Happy Mask Salesman said, handing the necklace to Artie who accepted it and hung it around his neck.
The Happy Mask Salesman bowed and teleported, leaving Artie, Sky, Ink and Epona alone in the corral.

"He's really gone right?" Ink asked with a slight twitch as he looked up at the wolfish man, he seemed pretty normal compared to a lot of things the young hylian had discovered recently. "You're going to trust him?" The young boy asked as he looked around for the salesman, paranoid about the man, and slightly disturbed.
"What if he's trying to kill you, or trap you, or maybe he plans to do something horrible in general!" Ink spoke quickly with a shiver as he realized he was still clutching the man's tunic before he pushed himself away from him. "Why am I still here and I don't even know you!" Ink said before clutching his head. "Augh....pain, hurts." He muttered with a wince. "I'm not even sure if I'm who I think I am, so I can't say much. All this is making my head hurt though."

Artie turned around to look at Ink face-to-face. "I'm..willing to take..chances..besides..I don't think...he plans to hurt me...I could sense it.." he said, Sky floated by his head and Epona trotted to a spot behind Artie and grazed a bit.
Artie couldn't place his paw on who this guy smelled like...it was very familiar... "I..am called Artie.." he said.
