Artie walked amongst the ancient and broken ruins of the Ikana desert. The wind blew calmly against him, as if the spirits had accept him and allowed him to walk amongst their old homes.
"He said it was in the ruins of the castle...if I remember correctly."Sky whispered as they walked towards the seemingly forboding castle.
Artie nodded. "He did."he said, looking at the castle and feeling the souls of the long dead guards standing there...still protecting their land.

Faro dodged a series of rapid swings from a Garo ninja. He tried to strike at one of it's arms, but was kicked to the side.
You should've listened to that shield vendor.[/b] Malevolence remarked.
You pick the worst times, I swear. Now shut up. Faro thought back. He ducked under a horizontal slash, and tripped the ninja, but it was already bringing its other blade down, and Faro had to roll away. The ninja quickly righted itself and leaped at Faro, bringing both its blades down. Faro dodged easily, and punched it where its jaw would have been. It fell to the ground, but appeared to be unharmed. It picked itself up, still crouched, and took several swipes at Faro's legs, followed by a vertical slash that Faro evaded by inches. Faro quickly regained his footing and kicked it in the chest. It fell back, and Faro stepped on its right arm before it could get up. The ninja slashed at Faro's leg with his left arm, forcing him off. It charged Faro taking several swipes at him, before attempting a stab with its right arm, just the opening Faro needed. He took hold of the ninja's arm and broke it. The ninja felt no pain, but dropped its blade, taking a swipe at Faro with its good arm. Faro backed away, but the blade still cut open his shirt. It rushed at Faro, intending a vertical slash. Faro attempted to sweep it's leg, but the ninja jumped over his attack, and kicked him with both legs, kicking off from him into a backflip. Faro landed in the sand, but quickly rolled to his feet. The ninja rose after its landing, ready to attack again, when it found its own blade shoved through its chest by a silhouette standing behind it. The ninja dissolved into green flames, its sword vaporizing along with the rest of its body.
"Whatever would you do without me?" Malevolence asked.
"Have much longer fights." Faro replied. "Now come on, the castle isn't far." Faro walked in the direction of Ikana castle without collecting Malevolence.
"Aren't you forgetting something?"
"You seemed insistent on walking."
"So it's like that, is it? Fine. Threaten my life for saving yours."
"If you can't reach the castle in six hours, that's your fault." Faro and Malevolence reached the castle in about twenty minutes, only to see Artie and his fairy standing before the mouth of the ruin. "Hey, that's the kid who helped us against the dragons. What's he doing here?" Faro said, approaching Artie cautiously.

The wind whistled lowly as Artie stood at the mouth of the castle, making the end of his hat blow softly in the wind.
He took a deep breath and exhaled it. He was ready to face the trials of the castle and whatever undead or beasts had taken up residence inside. He glanced up at the ancient stone work and another shiver went down his spine. He could still feel the glare of the long dead Ikana Royal Guardsmen bearing down on him, ready to defend their king at any moments notice.
The sound of footsteps was all that he heard, as quick as lighting. He pulled the sword and shield he carried on his back and twirled around on his heels and pointed it at the oncoming enemy, only to freeze as he recognized the unknown being as one of the members of the Lien Rescue group back in Dragona.
"I remember you...never thought we would meet again."Artie said, lowering his weapons a bit.

"You aren't the only one. What are you doing here?" Faro asked, absorbing Malevolence into his body again.

"I'm here to fulfill a debt I owe to someone...what are you doing out here?" Artie replied, seeing the demon go back inside of Faro. He sheathed his own sword and shield.

"The Ikana were around for some great cataclysm. Ganon wants to know if any records of it survived until now. I'm here to find out, and no he wasn't very specific. He just told us that this was from before they all died off." Faro explained. "So are we going to kill them and go in, or get them on the way out?" He nodded to the undead Ikana soldiers.

(You do realize that I was metaphorically speaking of the gaze of the undead soldiers...right?)
"Why would we kill air?" Artie asked, pointing back behind him. Nothing was there...the gaze of the long forgotten and deceased soldiers still lingered...still kept alive even without a body or a soul.
"I guess we'll step in together. I have no idea what's crawling around in there." Artie said to Faro, turning around and entered the gates and into the courtyard of the ancient castle.

(Yeah well, now I'm gonna throw Faro's dead clansmen in their place, how bout that s***? ) "What do you mean, they were just there." Faro said, glancing up again, to see only nothing. He stood shocked for a moment, then shrugged it off. "I must be seeing things." He muttered, following Artie into the courtyard.

(I was just gonna have undead Ikana elite soldiers in the castle...but ok)
"If anything...your demon is acting as a sense for you to see the dead of this land...the only other people I could think of that can do that are Torak and that monk that was with us in Dragona." Artie said as they walked on the path up to the castle.
Speaking of monks...Azrael was meditating on top of one of the last non ruined pillars in the courtyard, feeling with his mind and his soul the dead that populated. Some were aware of their passing...others were not aware, continuing to move about and do as they did in life. Voices intruded upon his meditation and the monk opened one of his red eyes and looked down to see a man in green and the follower of Ganon. "What are they here for..."Azrael mumbled, watching the two.

"Actually, no. Malevolence was made in an alchemy lab by Ganon and several other powerful sorcerers. Ganon wanted him to have certain capabilities and sensing the dead isn't one of them." Faro explained. "Somehow, I'm seeing them. But we can't think about that right now, we have things to do. Which way?"

Artie cautiously stepped into the entrance of the looming ancient ruin and peered inside for a few seconds and settled on the path to the right. "To the right."he said, walking in. The yellow light from Sky illuminated the interior. Bones and broken pots and rupees littered the entry way. Artie's eye spotted a very large skeleton sporting a rather strange set of armor. It looked like the armor that the Darknuts wore...but it bore a sword and shield instead of a battle axe.
Azrael leapt down from his perch and slowly followed the two intruders, keeping close to the shadows as he entered. He hissed silently as Sky's light almost gave him away and he managed to leap back in time. (Somehow not tripping on any of the many bones that were scattered around)

Faro followed Artie into the ruins as they approached the skeletal Darknut.
"Looks dead enough." He remarked. He raised his left arm, and a fire ball formed in his hand. "Want me to blast it just to make sure?"

"That would be the safest option...but it could be holding something important." Artie replied, after a few moments of studying the dead enemy. He took a step forward towards the cadaver, using Sky as his light, he reached the corpse and squatted down as he started to pat it.
His search didn't last long as soon enough a map, a few keys and several rupees fell out of the body. Artie scooped these items up in his hand, holding the map in his left, he placed the keys and the rupees in the sack that he held on his belt.
He turned and nodded to Faro, giving him the go ahead to torch the body.

Faro let the fireball loose from his hand. It exploded on contact with the skeleton, sending bits of it flying about. The creature's sword slid to Faro's feet. He picked up the weapon, but dropped it before giving the blade so much as a practice swing.
"Too heavy." He informed Artie, and unwittingly, Azrael.

Artie studied the discarded weapon with light from Sky. It was a very large sword, the blade was perhaps about as tall as he was.
"I wouldn't want to mess with one of those..." he muttered, unrolling the map in his hands and looking it over.
Azrael shifted a bit farther back into the shadows, his red eyes pierced the blanket of darkness that surrounded them. He watched as the hero and the servent of Ganon studied the map.
