Eldrin crouched down next to the hole and peeked inside. "Snake, huh? What kind? What's the snakemilk for?" He asked, looking at Rii inquisitively. He had always called snake venom 'snakemilk' ever since he was a small child, to the constant irritation of his mentor, Ayishe. No amount of correcting could break him from this strange habit, nor any amount of blows from the steel soles of her boots. He moved out of Max's way, but still sat close enough to see the serpent first hand, now cross-legged. "Hope it's not an Eagle Snake..." He muttered. Iona's snake was one too many smart serpents around, as far as the thief was concerned.

Rii glanced back over at Eldrin as he talked, smiling at the fact that he was interested. She didn't want to leave anyone out of the conversation. "Hylian Plated Snake. It's venom is good for healing salves," Rii explained, familiar with the term 'snake milk', though not often using it. She had met other healers who referred to it as such, however, so she took the other term in stride. When Eldrin voiced his concerns about it being an Eagle Snake she glanced down at the hole where the glimmer of copper was. It moved slightly, crossing out the 'pile of copper rupees' possibility. "Unless there's another snake within five feet of me, I think that's the Hylian Plated Snake. So says the voice in my head." Rii tugged at one of the wavy fins sprouting from the top of her head just a little, her smile softening to show her thankfulness for his concern. Then she glanced back at the hole, just in case Maximus was about to hook the snake.

Maximus grasped the hook firmly in his left hand and crouched down by the hole. He had never captured a snake before but he was eager to give it a shot. The boy slowly lowered the hook into serpents burrow, sporting a very thoughtful look on his face. He wiggled the hook around until he felt it latch onto something solid. Max became so excited he almost immediately yanked the hook out, but he knew better; he didn't want to hurt the poor snake. His brow furrowed and his tongue curled over his upper lip slightly; signs he was in deep concentration. Maximus slowly withdrew the hook from the burrow but as soon as it surfaced he caught a glimpse of what he had carptured. Unfortunately, it was no snake. He had withdrew a large root from the snake hole, and Max hung his head and sighed. But at the same time he started laughing out loud to himselt.
The young assassin lifted his head back up and gave it another try, and this time he a actually got the snake. As it exited the hole Max began to frantically jump up and down in excitement, "Oh! Get it Rii! Get it!"
The snake was a beautiful creature. Max nearly reached out and touched it, but the snake didn't look too happy after being taken from its home, so he let Rii do her job.

Eldrin's eyes widened at the sight if the snake. It's long body shimmered like copper and gave the thief a nearly uncontrollable urge to snatch it and run. Instead he just sat there, cross legged, and leaned forward to look. One look into the snakes eyes gave him chills. They were cold and cruel, the eyes of a killer. But, as he reminded himself, the snake could hardly help that. One being born with the evil eyes is not enough to make them evil. The snake had no concept of good or evil, just instinct. It knew that it was surviving, and who could condemn it for that. He respected snakes, and animals in general, for that.
A grin spread across the thief's face when he saw Maximus's reaction. He always liked to see the kid happy, especially after everything he'd been through lately.
"Well, what are you going to do with 'im, Miss Rii?" Eldrin asked, smiling up at the Zora.

Eldrin didn't say anything after Rii, so Rii focused on Maximus, who was focusing intently on drawing out the snake. The first time he pulled out a root, and Rii giggled at his mistake, and he laughed as well, but he was now beyond determined to capture the creature, and went back in with the hook. This time he was successful, and upon realizing this, he became extremely excited. Eldrin seemed please, asking what Rii was going to do with it. She didn't respond, very intent on the snake that Maximus had found for her. Well practiced in capturing snakes after thirteen years, Rii applied just enough pressure a few inches from the snake's head to limit the movement of it's head as well as provide enough space for her hand. "Are you going to tell me your name, Miss snake?" Rii asked as she observed the snake, which was a female considering the sheen. As far as Hylian Plated Snakes went, the females were more aggressive, and liked causing fights, so they were always shinier than males naturally. The snake simply wriggled, attempting to escape the staff that was holding her to the ground. "That's unfortunate. I'd like to thank you by name." Deciding she wasn't going to be getting the response, Rii's left hand flew forward, gently grasping the space between the snake's head and her staff. The snake began to fight more, but Rii slid her staff to the lower part of the snake's body as it began to lash around, and then she replaced her grip on her weapon with her foot to keep the light pressure. Reaching over, she grabbed the jar with her right hand and held it beneath the snake's jaw where her thumb was. The snake sensed danger, and opened her jaws in hopes that she could bite something and make them blind. Despite blindness not being lethal, it was still effective. Hylian Plated Snakes liked long fights anyway. Blindness just made it easier to toy with their prey.
Her plan was a failure, as the venom merely left her fangs and pooled on the mesh, slowly trickling through into the bottom of the jar. When she had collected all the venom the snake could release, Rii set the jar aside, took the hook from Maximus, and carefully maneuvered her grip so that she wouldn't endanger herself when releasing the snake. Standing, she looked around in search of something specific. Upon spotting a small rodent in the grass, Rii grinned and walked over, releasing the snake, who instantly spotted the potential meal. "Enjoy, and thank you!" Rii said with a large grin. Then she returned, picking up her jar of newly collected venom. She turned to the two boys. "Thank you so much Maximus! She was a wonderful snake, not nearly as energetic as some others I've encountered," she informed him happily. then she turned to Eldrin. "And that, mister Eldrin, is what I was going to do with the snake."
(ooc: I didn't google 'how to collect snake venom' or anything. What would give you that idea? Haha... Okay, yes I did.)

Azrael sat upon a rock, meditating. His robe was off showing his somewhat muscular body. He kept his hands wrapped in cloth. A fly landed on his equipment that sat by the rock he himself sat upon.
The sound of several people entered his ears, but years of meditation had taught him how to block out distracting noises if they proved no immediate threat to his life.

Eldrin watched with intense interest as Rii milked the snake's fangs. He felt a small pang of sympathy for the sacrificed rodent, but shrugged it off. The thief was just about to reply when a fly suddenly buzzed in his face. He swatted it away vigorously, even swiping Avarice at it. Finally, the fly relented and flew of to bother someone else. The thief watched as it settled on a rock next to a meditating man. A dangerous smile crossed the Sheikah's face as he recognized his cousin. "Miss Rii, Maximus, your attention if you would lend it to me. You're about to see something great!" Eldrin searched for a moment and found the biggest stone he could throw, then he chucked it at Azrael as hard as he could. The stone rocketed through the air, heading straight for the monk's forehead. Eldrin snickered in anticipation.

Azrael's meditation was unbroken as the pebble sailed towards him, only when it was within a few inches of him did Azrael make a move. His right hand shot up like a cork and he plucked the pebble from the air. Azrael lowered his right hand and opened his eyes.
His red Shiekah eyes turned their attention over the small group near him and he was silent for a moment before grinning.
"It's been a while, cousin." the Desert Monk said before dropping the pebble from his hand and standing up on the rock.

Max watched Rii milk the snake with fascination. He crouched down to get a better look, maybe he could learn how sometime. After Rii let the snake go heard Eldrin mumbling about something then he whipped a rock at someone rather familiar sitting on a rock not too far away. "Azrael!" he yelled after figuring out who it was. He considered running over and tackling him off the rock but he didn't think Azrael would like it. He wasn't the playful type. So instead he walked over to him with a huge smile and said, "How ya been?" All of a sudden Max got real excited,"Oh! I met a new friend today! Wanna meet her?" The young boy ran back to Rii and grabbed her by the hand. He dragged her over to Azrael and introduced them, "Azrael, meet my new friend Rii, Rii, meet my friend Azrael." After he finished he looked over at the monk with a very wide smile on his face.

Some people might have found it odd that they were being dragged by a nine-year-old, some people might not have. In Rii's case, she just laughed at his excitement, as it seemed to be contagious. He pulled her over to the slightly older man (older than the other company she was currently keeping anyway) and quickly introduced them. Rii was momentarily fascinated at the coloration of his hair, feeling the urge to reach out and run her hand through it. She wondered if perhaps there was an herb that could dye a person's hair like that. As Maximus introduced her to Azrael, she gave in to the urge, reaching out a hand to simply touch a strand of it. "Azrael, you have beautiful hair," she remarked, briefly wondering what it would look like were she not Zora and had hair. She might be distracted if her hair was two colors, constantly wanting to run her fingers through it like she desired to with Azrael's hair. "And very fine reflexes. Perfectly healthy." Most people Rii casually encountered were healthy, but the man had sharp reflexes, sharper than most she had seen. It was refreshing in an odd way, though maybe Rii would be one of the few who would observe reflexes as refreshing, being a healer.

Azrael gave a small smile as he saw the young Assassin walk over to the rock he stood upon. "Greetings Max. How have you been?" Azrael said, bowing his head slightly at seeing an ally. He cocked his head a bit when the young boy excitedly told him of making a new friend and ran over to his small group and started to pull a young Zora over to where he sat.
"A Zora? It explains the increase of energy I was feeling... and by the strength of that energy... I would say she is a healer or some form of mage." he thought and bowed his head slightly at the Zora in respect as they came to a stop in front of him after Max had introduced them to each other.
He felt his cheeks burn a bit with blush as Rii complimented his hair and his reflexes.
I am honored by your compliments, Rii. It has taken many years of vigorous training to hone my reflexes. In fact... that was only a small sample of what I can do. And as for my hair... it is two different colors because of my abilities as one of the Desert Monks." Azrael explained as he hopped over the two of them and landed softly on the grass, he turned around and looked at them both with his red eyes.
"And from the amount of energy you were giving off... I can safely say that you are a healer, no?"

Rii was glad that Azrael appreciated her compliments, and she couldn't resist a smile at his blush. Humans and Hylians blushed red, whereas Zoras blushed red against silver-blue scales, meaning whenever Rii blushed it was purple. The color difference never failed to fascinate her. Once Azrael had thanked her, he hinted at having far more impressive abilities thanks to his trainer, and proceeded to leap over her and Maximus, landing and turning to face her once more. She followed with her head as he sailed above her, eventually having to turn around to follow his leap. When he turned to face her, he deduced that she was a healer.
Rii laughed with a nod. "Glad to know I'm full of enough energy for you to tell," she replied warmly. "I have no impressive abilities to show you, but that's a good thing at this moment, seeing as I'm a healer." Rii glanced over at Maximus, and then at Eldrin as she then said, "So how do you fine men know one another?" Once again Rii found herself laughing at the question as she thought of the term 'men' and the nine year old beside her. She was glad coming home hadn't lessened the amount of times she laughed, for she had always been laughing everywhere else.

Maximus laughed as Azrael sailed over them, he was always quite impressed with his abilities. He looked over at Rii, who was smiling as well. Then she asked how they had all known each other and his mind immediately drifted to Argoth. Max missed him dearly, but he knew what Argoth would want for him,sp so he kept going, no matter what. Maximus put a large smile on his face and looked up at Rii, "I only know these guys because of my old mentor, Argoth. He was the greatest fighter you'd ever seen, and the best friend anyone could ever have. I wish he were here to meet you, I think he would really like you. Anyway, he took me in after saving my city from a tyrant. I was an orphan at the time. But that is how I know them." Maximus explained with eagerness. It felt really good to tell someone about Argoth, he hadn't spoke of him since his death.
(If you want to know how Argoth died you can skim the thread Abomination in Lake Hylia, I think its on page 4 or 5)

Eldrin smiled as Azrael leapt over Rii and Maximus. He was filled with immense pride for his cousin that filled his chest like a warm tonic. Rii and Azrael were talking about something, but he really wasn't paying attention. Something about healers and energy, the kind of stuff that was over his head. Eldrin focused instead on trying to catch a dragonfly, to no avail. He chased it around for about a minute. That was until Rii distracted him with a question. Their new Zora friend wanted to know how they had all met.
He waited for Max to finish. Then gave a slight pause in respect to Argoth. The painful memory of his friend's death was all too fresh in his mind. He squeezed Max's shoulder comfortingly, he knew it was hard for the boy to speak of his mentor's death. After he felt a sufficient amount of time had passed, he spoke up. "Well, me and Azrael met in Hyrule Castle Town a while back... And Max and I met around the same time in Clock Town. Of course, I didn't realize that he was Argoth's student until later." He answered, reaching absentmindedly for the dragonfly.

A tragedy. One of the things Rii could not heal with her herbs, potions and salves. Yet Maximus still remained energetic, and Rii was glad for that. Eldrin added to the tale, adding how he also met not only Maximus, but also Azrael. She was glad that initially meeting people had not meant tragedy, though it seemed this Argoth man was still a tender subject.
"I'm honored that you believe your mentor would have liked me, Maximus," Rii answered with a smile. Out of the corner of her eye she caught the movement of Eldrin absently attempting to capture a dragonfly, and just for fun she focused on the quick little insect. She already knew what the voice in her head would say, having used dragonfly wing many times before when in a pinch for a painkiller - if you could call it that -, but it was still fun to look into anyway. Wings crushed to powder and mixed with select flowers can induce varying kinds of sleep. She disliked having to kill animals often, which is why whenever she could she resorted to snake venom if it had to be an animal, as that didn't kill the animal. "Do you guys usually travel alone, or did you just happen to be by yourselves when I met all three of you?"
