Azrael leaned up against the outer wall of Kakariko Village and sighed. The spirits were all resting, no zombies and he had no contact with Torak, Artie or any of the others in their little adventuring group in a long while.
He was considering leaving Hyrule for a while and returning back to Termina to resume his original quest as a drop of water fell onto the top of his head, looking up just in time to receive a faceful of rain water as it came thundering down. The Desert Monk's face shot down as he brought his already drenched hood up over his black and white hair.
"Strange... twas only sunny a moment ago..."he whispered to himself as a faint melody reached his ears. His red eyes turned to the direction of the melody.
"It's... coming from the windmill..." he told himself, pushing past a couple of people who had gathered in front of the gate.
As he came closer to the windmill, words reached his ears.
"In the night blew a storm Chasing shadows to the shore Lighting filled sky Thunder rolled and cry Go around go around Dance,as heaven crashes down Singing to the Song of Storms."
The voice sounded female and Azrael moved through the sleepy village faster, coming upon a hooded figure sitting in front of the windmill with an acoustic guitar in her hands playing a strange tune and singing the even stranger lyrics.
Azrael watched her for a moment as he raised his hand to get her attention, she spoke.
"Do you like my song? I came up with those lyrics myself!" she asked, looking up at the Monk. Her hood covered everything save for her mouth, which was pinned up in a wide grin.
"It's a very pretty melody... tell me... what is it's name?" Azrael asked. The smile of the girl made him slightly curious as to who she was.
"The Song of Storms." she replied and continued to play the melody on her guitar.
Song of Storms...? Azrael's mind raced... where had he that song's name before? Was it on a headstone in Hyrule? Termina?
"They say the Hero used this song to drain the well!" she piped up, snapping the Monk out of his daydream.
Azrael looked at her with a confused look. "The Hero of Time?"
She nodded. "The man in the windmill taught it to me and then yelled at me to get out."
Azrael didn't say a word and strode past her and up to the windmill, he placed a hand on the door and stood there for a moment before opening the door and entering the shelter of the windmill.

Kaepora Gaebora That was all the note said. It was written in a simple, spidery script. Not at all embellished or patterned. The note itself was of old parchment, yellowed with age. The name bugged Eldrin to no end. He had no idea what it was, or even why it bothered him so... But it seemed to ring in his ears, echoing incessantly. Eldrin's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a melody drifting through the air. Stuffing the note into his satchel, the thief followed the sound to its source. The thief stood on a roof adjacent to the strange musician, watching her curiously. His red eyes watched as her fingers strummed the strings of her guitar. He was captivated by this simple movement. Thunder rumbled across the sky, and rain fell from the gathering clouds. It was as if the tune she was playing was summoning the storm around them. A hooded figure approached the girl as she began to sing. Eldrin recognized his cousin, Azrael Siskin, the Desert Monk. He spoke to the girl for a moment then entered the Windmill. "Hm... What is my dearest cousin up to? Mischief, perhaps?" Eldrin asked hopefully, as he dropped to the street. The thief slipped into the Windmill, shutting the door behind him. He smiled at Azrael upon seeing him. "Running from rain, or hunting the source?"

Azrael grinned slightly as he recognized the voice that spoke behind him.
"Water is a very rare gift from my land, cousin. On any other occasion I would be outside enjoying it... but... something about it doesn't seem natural..." he said, turning around to face Eldrin.
"You saw the girl... the one with the guitar outside... right?"

"Indeed, creepy smile on that one... Reminds me of that mask guy." Eldrin answered, looking back at the door as if she was still listening.
"D'ya think she has something to do with it?" He asked, scratching his head pensively.

"I indeed do think that... that melody she was playing made the elements themselves bend to her will. She told me that she learned it in this windmill... but take a look... it's been empty for a while." Azrael stepped aside to allow Eldrin to view the room.
Dust covered the room and cobwebs hung from the ceiling. What seemed like a half eaten and rotting meal sat on a wooden table with it's chairs overturned as if someone was trying to leave in a hurry.

Eldrin examined the room, snooping around every nook and cranny. He tasted a stale biscuit, then stuck out his tongue. "Mold, it's definitely been a while..."
He listened for a moment to the creaking of the slowly spinning turbines, to the pitter-patter of rain on the roof. No songs met his ears. "Well, I'm lost. Not a sign of mysterious musicians. Except for that girl, that is..."

Her hands were long slick with rain and clutching slimy, mossy stone. Her legs shook with exhaustion, her arms screaming with exertion. But she was nearly to the top! Iona smiled as she saw that it was but a few climbs up, then, she'd have the ultimate recharge! Her hair clinging to her face in sopping wet strands, she pulled herself up, reaching for another grip, a loose brick in the windmill.
Thunder rumbled, almost imploringly, sounding as though it was giving a mighty whine. Iona smiled again as she grabbed hold of the brick. "Soon, my pretty," she said softly. "Soon you can strike with all of your heart's desire." She spoke to the sky in between pants, but her eyes were focused on the top, her feet struggling to get on her previous hand holds. When she arranged herself accordingly, she sighed. One more climb. One more push.
Despite her fatigue, she pushed herself to reach with her aching arm to the tip of the roof, close to the point of the windmill, the blades rotating very slowly, their axles groaning as they turned. She caught hold of the metal rod that acted as a point to attract lightning away from the more flammable parts of the windmill and pushed up. Her throbbing fingers failed her and she slipped, falling.
Her hand caught hold of the rod again. Iona gasped, thanking the sun for the miracle. It was a long way down. Adrenaline coursing through her hotly from the scare, she pushed herself up to the rod, coming to stand on the small foot-wide area to support the rod. She gave a triumphant whoop, shaking the hair out of her face, her eyes squinted against the hammering rain. The thunder grumbled expectantly. Iona smiled again. "Come at me, brethren!" she roared to the sky, one fist raised at its gray clouds. Lightning hissed wildly, a giant strike boring down on her like one huge crooked root, smaller branches breaking out madly. There followed a giant crack of thunder, and the small figure of the black haired Gerudo was suspended in air for several moments, her body racked by the storm's immense power. Then it finished, the lightning fading. She fell from the sky.
Landing dully on the ground, her electricity filled body still shaking and glowing from the energy. She bounced from the impact, and was still. After a moment, her leg began to twitch, her eyes open. Iona stared up at the rain, and laughed.

The dull thudding noise reached Azrael's ears and the monk made no move to investigate it.
"I do believe someone we know just dropped in... so to say." Azrael muttered, running his hand across the round wall and walking around the small room.

Eldrin listened to the thud, followed by a shriek of laughter. "And from the sounds of it, I'd say she's having fun." He knew only one person who enjoyed being struck by lightning, Iona Solas. It had been a while since he'd seen the Gerudo, and now he wondered what she was up to in Kakariko. Perhaps she knew of Kaepora Gaebora... On second thought, probably not. Chances were, she didn't even know where she was at right now. He was guilty of aimlessly wandering everywhere as well, but at least he knew where he was wandering.
"I wonder, could your musician friend have lied to you?"

"It might be possible... it was rather hard to read her spiritual pressure. It takes an intensive amount of training to be able to hide it from someone like me."
Something brushed against his hand, he stopped and looked at the wall. A stone block stuck out. Azrael studied it for a moment before pushing the block in.
The sound of gears and stone moving was what they heard next as a staircase leading downwards opened up near where Eldrin was standing.

Eldrin jumped at least a foot in the air when the ground opened next to him. "Holy frickin' mother of Din! How many times do I have to say it?! I HATE IT WHEN THE FLOOR MOVES!!!" After his initial spaz attack, Eldrin took a moment to be interested. He did hate it when the floor moved, but he also loved secret passageways. Good thing he had found it too... Azrael wasn't getting them anywhere! "Hey, Azrael! I found somethin'..." He called, peering down the staircase. Apparently he was oblivious to (or else refused to acknowledge) his lack of involvement in the uncovering of their newest lead.
Suddenly, the thief felt his desire for adventure flaring up. Like a blazing inferno, his chest swelled with excitement and his blood shot through his veins. His wide red eyes looked even more wild, if that was even possible. Still though, he had never liked wandering into strange dark holes... At least not when he was the first one down. "Monks first!" Eldrin said, bowing extravagantly and waving his cousin toward the staircase. After all, what if there was traps?!

Giggling, she kicked her feet, splattering mud everywhere. Thunder chortled with her as the rain came down harder. Iona rolled on her stomach, the puddles and the mud freezing against her bare stomach, her Gerudo uniform soaked through, her hair stringy and her face smeared with mud. Fascinated, she slapped her hand on the ground, utterly dumbfounded by puddles, by falling water from the sky, by the abundance of water, everywhere.
Eventually, she got up, her feet taking to a doorway to a place she didn't know. This village place functioned to her as food, and the graveyard was a place to sleep in her favorite open grave off to the far corner of the place. But this, why was this here? She opened the door, squeaking and squelching as she entered. She froze.
The floor spun. Literally. Around and around. Pleasantly so. Iona leaped onto the spinning ground, water pouring off her, and landed on the turning floorboards. She lost her balance and fell flat on her stomach. She thought about getting up, but the rhythm made her drowsy. A nap was in order. She closed her eyes, and fell right off to sleep, her splayed out, comically dripping body making revolutions around the room.

Azrael moved swiftly across the room and stood before the open staircase. He peered down into the darkness as he heard the door open, footsteps and then someone falling onto the rotating portion of the windmill.
"You might wanna take her off of there... she's going to be dizzy whenever she wakes up." Azrael said, taking a step into the darkness and walking down the stairs, careful of where he stepped, lest he lose his footing and fall down to break his neck.

Eldrin shrugged watching Iona spin slowly in circles around him. "I don't suspect it'd be that drastic of a difference." He waited for the rotation to bring her back around, then snatched her off it. "C'mon lightning-drinker..." He held her by left ankle, as that was the least muddy part, and dragged her along with him as he followed Azrael down the stairs. "Sheesh, you'd think they'd wash this thing occasionally..."

((I'm laughing as I'm picturing that... xD))
"Perhaps it was too risky to reveal it's location just for it to be cleaned." Azrael suggested as they reached the bottom step and then to the cold stone floor below.
The hallway stretched for a good mile or so from what Azrael could see. He sighed and reached out for any spirits in the hall... perhaps to seek out if there were any traps.
"There is... nothing... nothing at all in here. Spirit-wise, I mean."
