Dammit. Damn it all to the deepet fiery pits of any stupid torture chamber. Thell couldn't believe this. Cliffs had kept them from seeing the Gerudos, and now they were stunned, being handled as if they were no more than bags of feed. How dare they. But that's when Thell felt it. Vandir was no longer there. He had escaped. Good. They might have a chance if her precious creation followed without being noticed. Being a sandy-colored wood, he stood a chance. When Thell got free and got back her stuff, she really hoped for the sake of the guards that they hadn't burned her wood, because she was already going to scar them physically for life. But touching her creations would make her haunt their nightmares. She had worked hard on those. They all had personalities and emotions and habits.
A growl built up in her throat as they cuffed her. Her own kin cuffed her! Oh she understood many didn't like her, but this was a cowardly way to get back at her. Plus, cuffs never sat well with her right wrist as they tended to dig into her burn scars.
And then they were in the prison, weaponless. Really, they lacked any belongings at all, including things that weren't meant for violence. Her heat and glow rocks! Those had cost her, and if they were gone so help her Thell would find a way to devour their sand-filled souls.
All four of them were in separate cells, but at least they were side by side. For a while longer Thell lay on the ground, thoroughly pissed as she mentally cursed and waited for her body to be free. Finally, the effects of the deku nuts wore off, and she pushed herself into a sitting position. The guards had dumped them and left, but Thell didn't doubt the'd be returning. And if they weren't planning on it... "I'll give them five minutes to get back here so I can carve their skin. Any longer and I'll make them wish they'd hurried back," she snarled, glancing around. How to get out of here?

Eldrin sat in his cell, his back against the bars. He stared blankly about his cell. It seemed that being shocked, beaten up, shocked again, and stunned all in a short period of time had taken its toll upon the thief.
It was definitely not his first time in the Gerudo prison. He frequented this place almost as often as he did the Stock Pot Inn and Hyrule Castle's treasuries. They had even reserved a specific cell for him. Third one in from the left. He quite enjoyed his cell... It was a cozy place. Over time he had bribed the guard's enough to be afforded some moderate luxuries. He had acquired a nice plush fur pelt to soften the stone bed, and even one of those weird sitting cushions for a pillow. Long crimson sheets served as curtains to block the view from his cell into the others. These ersatz curtains were tattered and frayed, with many holes through which one could peep, but they served their purpose well enough. Random trinkets and strings of beads hung from the cross sections where the vertical bars met the horizontal bars. One of his favorite acquisitions though, was a bowl. It wasn't anything fancy, just a wooden bowl. But it was a commodity in the Gerudo Prison. What little food that they gave prisoners was served upon stone trays, usually coated in mold, sand, and bits of food from the last meal. His little wooden bowl was sparkly clean (figuratively speaking, of course). He made sure to carefully ration his drinking water for every meal so that he would have enough to clean his bowl thoroughly.
As the thief returned to a normal state of mind, he slid the curtains on both sides back so that he could see his friends. "Well... We made it inside the fortress!" Eldrin pointed out cheerfully, sitting cross-legged in the center of his cell. "Don't suppose anybody's got a lockpick hidden in an awkward area? Ya know, one of those places that the guards don't like to look. Personally, I don't roll that way... But I won't judge. Or be disgusted..."

Kadina giggled. "You couldn't smuggle a pick anyway. You're a guy... There isn't a spot on your entire body the Gerudos wouldn't look... Dirty whores!" Kadina yelled the last part down the corridor to the guards keeping watch. Her hands wrenched at the bars, her face pressed up against them. The fat from her cheeks pushed upward squinting her eyes. She stared covetingly at Eldrin's bowl in the cell across from hers while her mind wandered yet again.
I want a bowl too... And maybe an animal companion like a goat or a donkey. Nevermind... they'd poop everywhere and I'd be trapped with it. A goldfish! That would do. Except I once drowned a goldfish... so maybe that's a bad idea. Perhaps I could ask for a plant to nurture! Wait... nope... I kill those too. Like that one cactus I killed. Yeah, I'm less nurturing than a desert.
She sighed and pulled her face away from the bars then began to walk along the side of them trailing her fingers on them as she went. As she approached the door and lock, she began tinkering at a strand of her hair stringed with beads. A thin wire was used to hold them in place. Probably too thin to pick a lock, but she decided to try. She knelt beside it and began to jimmy as she questioned Thell, "So is there a game plan for once we bust out of here?"

Thell glanced over at Eldrin, snickering at his suggestion. She had met a woman who carried picks in such areas, and she almost considered it, but Rii had overheard her pondering it out loud and after she rambled on about a couple health facts about such areas and keeping a rusty lock pick down there, Thell had instantly dropped the idea. She was never positive as to whether or not that had been the Zora's intention, but if it had been, she had succeeded.
Luckily Kadina had a more sanity piece of wire that might work as she pulled it from her hair and went to work on the lock. It might be a little thin, but Thell wasn't too concerned. They would escape. Then Kadina asked about the plan. "Find our stuff. Find my aunt. She's the one person I trust won't lie to me. She's a weapons master who trains some of the new guards, so hopefully if she didn't see anything she heard something," Thell muttered, glaring out of her cell. Either the guards entered soon or Vandir did. She was hoping the guards would come first, and then Vandir could come in after with news on their stuff and with a more efficient lock pick than what the gypsy in the cell next to Thell's was using. That would be nice. She could also try and reach out to some of the shells of her creations and activate one, but it wouldn't be wise if her packs were being searched at that moment. They might try and kill the wooden being, and that would be more pain than Thell would want to deal with.
Her stomach growled. Damn. She wasn't even sure she could deal with it at this point. She needed sustenance. "Oh Mighty Pampered One," she hissed to Eldrin, "you wouldn't happen to have any food, would you?"

Blade looked over his cell bars. It had been a while since he'd been in a Gerudo prison, but nothing had changed about their cells. They were still of simple, sturdy construction, with few imperfections. Blade tried kicking the gate down. Unfortunately, he wasn't strong enough at this lunar phase to do any damage to it.
"Sorry about that." He said to his companions.
"Don't suppose anybody's got a lockpick hidden in an awkward area? Ya know, one of those places that the guards don't like to look. Personally, I don't roll that way... But I won't judge. Or be disgusted..."
Blade furrowed his brow and looked at his hands. There was something he could try. He flexed his hand and his already claw-like nails lengthened and hardened. He went to the gate lock and put his index finger in the keyhole. It was difficult, he'd never attempted something like this before, he never figured it would work. "When we get out, we have to stay out of sight, or we'll have to fight the whole fortress. That is unless Thell can convince her sisters not to kill us."

"Nope! The guards don't let me keep food when I'm not here. They say it starts to smell..." But he did have something. He jumped up and snatched the cushion-pillow off of his bed. With a careful tug, Eldrin ripped apart the seams of one end of the pillow. From within he dug out a spoon, a shiv, a chicken bone, and a small brass key. With these items, Eldrin replaced the pillow at the head of his bed.
He walked over to his cell door just as Blade picked the lock to his cell with his claws. "Nice..." Eldrin commented admiringly. If only he had claws, life would be so much easier. He'd finally have a use for all those scratching posts he had stolen. He peered down at his own fingernails. Dull, cut short, and slightly curved at the edges. Definitely human.
Eldrin shrugged and reached through the bars of his cell. He fumbled for a minute, as he couldn't really see what he was doing, but managed to shove the key into the lock. The tumblers grumbled and clicked as he turned the key, and moments later the door swung open. Eldrin casually stepped out, closed the door behind him, and pocketed the key.
"And if not, I've got weapons!" Eldrin announced. He passed the chicken bone through the bars to Kadina's cell, and the spoon into Thell's. He kept the shiv for himself, and Blade had claws. He smiled happily, content with a job well done, and leaned against a wall as he waited for the others to free themselves.

Kadina considered throwing the chicken bone at Eldrin so he would give her the key, but she decided to put her skill to the test. Lock picking was just too fun. Plus, she had done enough harm to her good friend for one day and was starting to feel rotten. She began pondering how she could make it up to him and got a pretty good idea, but it would have to wait for them to break out and leave the desert. The corners of her mouth turned up in a smile as she picked up the chicken bone
Kadina grabbed the bone at both ends and broke it in two leaving it splintered, jagged, and just pointy enough... She went back to work with her lock, this time using the chicken bone, and broke free in a matter of seconds. The sound of the lock clicking open and free turned her smile into a prideful grin. Not just that, but now her chicken bone would suffice as a pretty effective shank. "Thanks, Eldrin!" She winked, tossed the bone up, and caught it with style to show off a bit. Her thank-you slightly ironic seeing as Eldrin could have easily let her out of the cell. She then went to Thell's cell to help her out, seeing as she probably wouldn't have had the same luck with a spoon.
"Now... how do we search for a Gerudo without being seen by one? I say we run trough drawing their attention, and when you see you're auntie, we should be in the clear, right? She's not going to have her niece thrown back in a cell, will she?"

Great. Eldrin didn't have any food, and when he freed himself from his cell he handed her a spoon, a tool primarily used for eating food. She really wanted to skin him with her hunting knife.
And then Kadina started picking her lock with her broken chicken bone and Thell was starting to become annoyed. She glanced down at the wooden spoon with her narrowed eye. Why of all things... But then Kadina came over, beginning to work on the door to Thell's cell, and the half-Gerudo decided to take this time to see if she could somehow carve this wooden spoon like she did so many other kinds of wood. It wouldn't hurt to try, she decided. Now, a sharp object... she had her teeth... And that's when Thell saw a metal corner on the bottom of one of the bars. She knelt down, dragging the wooden spoon's handle across it hurriedly. By the time Kadina had worked Thell's lock, the red-head had carved half a stake from the small spoon. "I'd say head to her house, which I can get us to I think, but we can't even be sure she still lives there, or who else will be there. I haven't seen her in five years I think. Maybe longer," she said through gritted teeth as she continued to skillfully carve away at the spoon.
By a stroke of luck the guards still weren't back, but something else was, and Thell felt it. "Well, you seem to have all gotten free on your own. Guess I didn't need to bring anything," Vandir remarked from his perch on the ceiling, claws dug into the grooves of the stone. From his mouth dropped a fancy toothpick made of bone, a kitchen knife, and a nail. Thell glared at her companion, now crudely carved stake in hand.
"Really? I finish my pathetic stake right before you come with a real weapon?" she spat with bitter amusement as she lunged for the kitchen knife. "Your timing is awful."
"Well, I try," Vandir joked, slithering over to a cell bar and sliding down it to reach the ground. "As far as finding Thell's aunt, that'll prove to be interesting. I'd say I could go by myself, but where would that leave you? Thell's the only one that looks Gerudo and could pretend to be part of the Gerudo society, but her scars are distinctive, so I'm not even sure we could cover the___" And that's when the amiable talk of a couple Gerudo guards began to echo from down the hall.

Kadina jumped when Vandir spoke. She turned to see him appear out of nowhere on the ceiling. What a nifty little companion! Such a creature was most intriguing to Kadina. Had it not been Thell's own property, she might've stolen it, but she had respect for Thell and would fight her urges.
Kadina chuckled at Thell's "pathetic stake" comment then hushed as Vandir spoke his obvious wisdom. Wow... I'm so rash. I would've just run out in the middle of the Gerudo and not worried a bit. I guess my amusement of seeing them trip all over themselves is more important to me than getting caught... but I do have to take the others into consideration. They might not get the same kick out of that... Kadina looked over at Eldrin. He was probably an exception.
Just then, Gerudo voices drifted down the corridor. Kadina froze momentarily in shock then lightly scampered toward the voices down the hallway and into an open cell out of sight. Two Gerudo guards came around the corner and sighted the gang. Would they recognize Thell? Surely not from this distance.
"Hey!" One angrily shouted down the hall. Kadina heard their footsteps pick up into a sprint. She waited for them to pass then stepped out behind one and grabbed her ponytail before she could blow her whistle and warn others. Kadina maneuvered her foot around the gerudo's ankle and pushed her to the ground where she pulled the veil off the gerudo's nose and down into her mouth retying it to muffle her yells. The knot was so tight, she would have to cut it off. She then hoisted the girl to her feet while holding her arms behind her back, and shoved her into the cell Kadina had been hiding in. After shutting the door and locking it with her handy dandy chicken bone, she dusted off her hands and stuck her tongue out at the caged Gerudo who was now clawing at Kadina just out of reach through the bars. Locking the door had been a bit of a struggle, but their strengths were matched and she was able to hold it shut just long enough. Quite an accomplishment. If only there were meat on her chicken bone to celebrate.
That's when another pair of Gerudo turned the corner at the opposite end of the hall. Kadina's friends were now surrounded, the first Gerudo on one side and the two new ones on the other. They weren't outnumbered, but definitely caught off guard.
"Behind you!"

Blade managed to get his cell door unlocked by the time the other Gerudos filed into the room. He quickly drew his hands back and gripped the bars.
"Hey, if you're breaking out, you gotta take me with you!" He yelled, rattling the bars.
"Stop that, you idiot!" Yelled one of the women.
"Screw you, lady, I'm just trying to get out of this damn cage!" Blade yelled.
"Piss off or you'll come out as a corpse!" She yelled, before turning her back to him.
"Behind you!" Yelled Kadina. The Gerudo who yelled at Blade and her patrol partner looked back down the hall they came in from. Blade burst from his cell, sliding the door open as quickly as he could, barreling into the two women. He struck them with momentum that carried all three bodies to the wall. The two women were dazed long enough to find their weapons taken. Blade tossed one of the swords to Kadina.

"So much for staying out of sight..." Eldrin commented with a chuckle. Oh well, it was more fun this way anyway. He stepped forward just as Blade took out two guards and confiscated their weapons. The thief grabbed the first guard before she could intervene and held her in a headlock. "Sorry, darling, but you'll have to sit this one out." He muttered in her ear, bringing his shiv to her throat.
The guard didn't even seem bothered by Eldrin's shiv. She snapped her head backward into his face in a sort of backward headbutt. The Gerudo slipped out of the thief's grasp as he stumbled back, and turned to face him, wielding a wide-bladed spear.
Eldrin smirked through a bloody nose. "Gonna make it interesting, huh?" he asked, jumping forward with a thrusting blow from his shiv. The Gerudo didn't answer, but he batted him back with a swipe from her spear. "Damn!" Eldrin thought as he jumped out of the range of her weapon. They both realized their dilemma. The Gerudo held a weapon used primarily for long ranged, sweeping attacks. Eldrin held a weapon that was used mainly as a hand-to-hand supplement. They were at completely opposite ends of the spectrum, and the advantage varied with the tip of a scale. As long as the Gerudo could keep the thief away, he stood no chance. But if the thief could get close to the Gerudo, she stood no chance.
The Gerudo stabbed at Eldrin's heart with her spear, but the thief moved to the right. The spear sliced his left shoulder. The thief moved in quickly, aiming the shiv at her ribs. The Gerudo dodged to the left and swiped her spear at Eldrin. To her surprise, the thief caught the shaft of the spear. After a small tug-of-war, Eldrin proved to be stronger. He yanked the spear out of her hands and tossed it aside.
The Gerudo leaped upon him with incredible ferociousness, wrestling with him over the shiv. After a moment, the shiv clattered across the floor, out of both of their reaches. The two scrambled to their feet simultaneously and continued their fight. The Gerudo aimed a kick for his head, but the thief dodged and slammed his fist into her solar plexus. She nearly fell over as she gasped desperately for air, but Eldrin caught her first. He returned the earlier favor with a rough headbutt, sending her sprawling onto the stone ground of the prison unconscious.
Eldrin sighed as his opponent finally collapsed. He wiped the blood away from his mouth and assessed his shoulder wound. It was nothing but a flesh wound. It was long and bloody, but it hadn't cut deep and it didn't even hurt all that much. He retrieved the Gerudo's spear and his own shiv, before joining the other three.
Looking upon the fallen Gerudo, Eldrin was suddenly struck with an idea. "Hey, Thell. Wanna play dress-up?" he asked, grinning strangely. Sure, Thell's scars easily differentiated her from the other Gerudo, but that tagelmust Kadina had been wearing would easily cover those.

Everyone had quickly figured out who they were fighting with, and one forgotten guard was left to begin to sneak way and call for back-up. Thell twirled the knife in her hand. Not in this life time. She charged, not one for subtly in these situations, and the guard heard and whirled in time to catch Thell's slash with the wood of her spear. Thell tried to yank the knife out, but it appeared they both were a little more forceful than they thought, and it was stuck. The guard took this opportunity to swing sideways at her while Thell was staring in surprise, and as it came near her left shoulder, Thell thrust against the knife and towards the Gerudo. The wood hit her shoulder and Thell's thrust then sent it away, sliding the length of the weapon along her shoulder until the blade caught on her. She hissed angrily as she pushed forward just a bit more, and then pushed up, causing the guard to twist her arm oddly as the butt of the spear hit the ground and the point began to rise towards the ceiling. Thell followed the staff, leaping at the guard once more and barreling into her.
The guard gave up on holding onto the spear since it had caused her to angle forward, but it didn't matter. Thell brought her foot down on the guard's back, knocking both of them to the ground in a crumpled heap. Thell lost her breath momentarily from the contact with her back and the ground, but she at least hadn't lost consciousness like the guard. As she stood, Thell glimpsed an old battle axe tucked into the guard's belt. If she'd had her own axe and she wasn't in a rush, she might've made the guard fight her with the axe instead of with a stupid spear and her own rather horrible kitchen knife. But fate had other plans today.
Thell ripped the kitchen knife out of the spear as she stared at the axe, pondering whether or not she should take it. She really did like axes.
But then Eldrin was proposing a game of dress-up, and Thell caught on rather fast. She would have to carry a spear instead. Besides, it wasn't right to take someone else's axe. They never worked the same. Thell grinned as she hoisted up the other guard's body and headed for her old cell to throw her in. This particular guard was too short for her uniform to fit Thell correctly, nor was she as busty. But a shred off the shirt would be a great rag for cleaning up the cut in Thell's shoulder that was bleeding lightly. "You kidding? That's my one greatest desire. Well, right next to a prince charming with a fancy black mustache, but who doesn't want one of those?" Thell teased, approaching the guard Eldrin was standing over. Thell's clothes were one layer and nothing fancy or thick, so she wouldn't have to worry about stripping. The guard uniform would slide right over it. "Were gonna have to trade spears, though. As guard, I reserve the right to have one that doesn't have deep cuts in it." With that comment Thell referenced the spear she had tossed aside after she retrieved her kitchen knife.
"And information on this civil war would be helpful as well, Kadina. Will the rest of you all have to be prisoners, or could Thell get away with having non-Gerudo companions?" Vandir asked as he climbed up to the lock of Thell's cell with his toothpick in claw and began to lock it up.

Kadina caught the sword from Blade and was ready to defend, but it looked as though everything was taken care of. Eldrin and Thell had managed to knock their opponents unconscious. She twirled the sword this way and that way, spun it, threw it up, and did several little tricks as she replied to Vandir. "Eldrin and I are both recognized as prisoners around here. The only thing to worry about relating to the war is Gerudos without the desert symbol on their clothing. Those? They'll getcha!" She had just thrown the blade up in a rotating spin and caught it by the handle when she had said that and pointed the sword at Vandir jokingly. "But they'll most likely be keeping their distance for a while." She lay the sword aside and began to hand over her shaw/tagglemust to Rii for disguise. "Anyway, prisoners is probably the best way to go." Kadina pulled a pair of cuffs off one of the unconscious gerudo and took the key from their pocket where she place it in her mouth then locked the cuffs around her wrists. She tried to say "let's go" but it came out a mumbled mess from having the key inside her mouth.

"This will never work." "They'll see right through you." The Gerudos Blade had pinned chastised.
"Shut up." Blade said, knocking their heads together. The two women fell, unconscious. "So we gotta get chained up again, huh?" Blade asked tossing a cuff key into his mouth. "Good be wurf."

Kadina couldn't help but giggle at the serious assassin with his funny new speech impediment. In doing so, she began choking on her key! She gave the universal sign for heimlich but worried it would be too late. Either that key was going down or she was going to choke and die. Would the others keys open her cuffs? She was more worried about getting free than dying, but that was typical for her to make her freedom such a priority over other things.
