Rii knew it was time for them to go now that she had Maximus. She smiled softly, glad she could spend more time with the young child. She glanced back, wondering about if she could come back and make up for the remaining price by continuously healing the animals of Lon Lon Ranch.
That's when she noticed her wallet was no longer sitting on the stall door. She cocked her head to one side, but decided Eldrin must've taken it for one reason or another. She would ask later. Perhaps it was for the brigades, and he hadn't known she'd meant it to be for the horse beneath her. No matter. It would go to a good cause either way. She'd just have to do more healing checks to make up for the insane price of the horse. Rii looked down at Maximus who sat behind her, seeing just a portion of him from her seat. Then the horses took off to cause the distraction, and she didn't even need to tell the horse what to do. Power built up in his muscles in under a second, and then he was unleashing it on the ground, though it wasn't fully released until he had room to weave right at the entrance, and that's when he took his full opportunity. He overtook most of the horses in a couple heartbeats, and the rest were soon to follow as he instantly went for the most open ground possible, which was far away from the stampede and the ranch, out into Hyrule Field. Rii laughed all the way, checking now and again to make sure they weren't being followed and that Maximus was still managing behind her.
She decided it'd be best to loop around, and maybe a second time before returning to where she had first met Eldrin, which she remembered quite clearly. Maximus had joined her and they were snake-hunting. It had been near a tree, and a large rock a little off the road.
Luckily her horse was more than prepared for a long stretch of his legs. "You ever ridden a horse before, Maximus?" Rii asked as her horse slowed to a gait that was still fast but better for sustaining over a longer distance. She imagined he had, but she felt there was no risk in asking, which was oddly a little boring, since she could guess his answer. Having expected his answer, she didn't leave the boy much space to answer before she also said, "I need to name him something if you have any ideas." The suggestions he might give her, she suspected, would be less expected, and that was something she always enjoyed.

"Well then we'd better go," Argoth grinned mischeviously. He turned away from Eldrin and bolted for the exit.
The entire time Max was riding the horse he couldn't stop himself from smiling and occasionally laughing to himself. For a nine year old boy, this was extremely fascinating. He wrapped his little arms around Rii's waist and rested his head on her back for a sort of awkward hug. The wind was also a bit oppressive on little Max's face, although he liked it all the same. Just as little Maximus was thinking about how this was his very first horse ride Rii had proposed the question to him. However, before he could answer, she asked him what the name of the horse should be. His frantic boy mind had already forgotten about the previous question because naming the horse was deeply exciting for him. The boy's face lit up like a star, "Uhhmmmm, how about Bill?" he suggested.

Rii almost completely turned around in the saddle to look at Maximus. "Bill?" she asked in curiosity, laughing a little. it was one of those cliche common names, and a stereotypical human name when a Zora wanted to refer to a random male human. She'd never met one, herself. "I do believe we can work with Bill. I've never met one. How about it?" With this Rii turned back to face the horse, running a hand along his neck down to his shoulder and feeling the powerful muscles there. The horse put some extra force in as he slammed his hoves down into the ground to look at her, bringing them to a halt. His eyes said it all. 'You've seen me run like lightning through this field and you're going to just call me 'Bill'?'
Rii laughed. "I see. How about this. Bill is a nickname for William, not that it's ever made sense to many. After all, there is no B in William. Let's dub him Billiam, but call him Bill?" Rii asked, glancing over her shoulder again now that the horse had decided to move again. It appeared he no longer felt insulted. He quickly sped up once more so he could finish the circle around and they could head to the meeting point.

Eldrin and Argoth were already waiting for Rii and Maximus, near the tree and the rock when they arrived. It wasn't that surprising, seeing as they had went straight their while the other rode over in their roundabout way. Eldrin didn't mind, roundabout was fine by him, better than straight. He hardly ever walked a straight path, only on occasions such as this. Even his life was a crooked trail of wandering and strolling off course.
"Well, how was your first ride?" Eldrin asked as they rode up.

Rii was laughing as Billiam sped to the metaphorical finish line where Eldrin and Argoth were standing. At Eldrin's question she ended up laughing more. "I imagine it was much like riding lightning," she said to Eldrin. "Wouldn't it be nice to actually ride lightning?Well, without burning yourself anyway. But maybe that's what rain's for." With that Rii pulled Billiam's reins and halted him, though he was still full of energy it seemed as he attempted to patiently wait while she dismounted. Rii held out her arms to Maximus as she then said, "And how was the stampede?

Maximus fell into Rii's arms after swinging his leg over. The boy was laughing and smiling the whole time; some from the horse ride and some from jumping into the Zora's arms. "That was amazing!" Max proclaimed excitedly, "Let's do it again, can we Rii? Can we?""
Argoth grinned and took a step forward, "Maybe some other time kid, we have things we need to attend to later. As for the stampede, it was....eventful to say the least."

"Well, that's definitely the least way to say it..." Eldrin said, laughing as Maximus fell on Rii. "I don't think you'll have to worry about taking the blame for taking your horse." He said with a reassuring smile. The ranch-hands had probably already called on the guards to arrest the eight men who had been caught in the stampede. Not to mention, he had left behind the horse he had stolen earlier from those same men. They had left the ranch with the same number of horses as there had been when they arrived.
"So did you give him a name yet?"

Rii whispered "Argoth means 'of course', just not now" into the young boy's ear before setting him down and listening to Eldrin and Argoth. She didn't get much of a detailed explanation, making her wonder about the story that hid behind Eldrin's words. Why wouldn't she get blamed? Yes, that was the question.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when Eldrin asked about her horse's name, however. "Maximus and I decided to dub him Sir Billiam, One with Lightning Feet,"Rii announced, opening her arms in a grand gesture. Then she turned to retrieve an apple she was fairly certain she had in her pack, ready to give it to her new steed. Instead, her eyes fell upon the large horse standing innocently beside her dropped back, a flash of red vanishing into his mouth and revealing that he had already located said apple. "And of Lightning Mouth," Rii corrected, turning around with a smile. "But I'll just call him Billiam."

"I like his name," Max exclaimed gleefully. When Rii whispered in his ear he giggled and nodded his head. After he was on his feet again he strolled over to Argoth, who was in the middle of looking Rii over. He had never met this Zora before, she was cute, but younger than him. To tell the truth, Argoth had never seen many of the Zora people. Not much of his travels ever took him to their lands. It then occurred to him that they had never had a formal introduction and decided it was time to do just that.
The assassin walked up to her and said, "I hope the kid wasn't too much trouble for you. My name is Argoth, and judging by Max's excitement, you must be Rii. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand for a formal shake.

Rii was glad Maximus was so happy about Billiam's name. She'd never had a younger brother to look after, and had yet to have children of her own, but she found that looking after Maximus was a pleasant and unfamiliar change to the norm of being with people her age.
Argoth then introduced himself, coming over to give Rii a handshake. She stared at his hand momentarily, not one to shake hands herself. Whenever she was with the Zora guards she always just gave them hugs. It seemed to unnerve most of them, but Rii always found it amusing. So, she decided to go with her gut and ignore Argoth's hand, instead hugging him around the middle. "It's always a pleasure to meet someone new, especially someone who is close to Maximus." Suddenly, Rii frowned as she felt something on the outer edges of her mind. She allowed it inside, recognizing the feeling. Argoth. Hylian male. 30. Memory loss. Rii allowed her arms to go slack as she pulled away to look up at Argoth's face. "You have memory loss?" she asked.

Argoth's heart jumped a little when Rii embraced him. He wasn't expecting someone he had never met to jump straight to hugs, that was usually the kid's thing. It stunned him for a second, however, not long enough for her to break away, and he amiably returned the hug. Argoth couldn't place a feeling on it, but there was something about this girl that intrigued him. This sensation was only confirmed when she slacked her arms, looked up at him, and said something he had never expected in a million years. How did she..? It didn't matter, she could help him if she had somehow found out. Most of his friends had supernatural abilities and it wouldn't be surprising if Rii did as well.
Argoth returned a very confused look, although he did answer it. "Yeah...I do..How did you..?" It wasn't until after he had finished that he realized the two of them were still semi-hugging.

Eldrin stared at Argoth quizzically. Loss of memory? Then again, he knew practically nothing about Argoth's past. For as long as he'd known the assassin, he'd never actually learned much about him. And furthermore, how could Rii tell? Was she psychic or something? Tons of questions had just been raised for both of them, and Eldrin was determined to get answers.
The thief sat cross-legged in the grass next to Max, and waited for an explanation, either from Argoth or Rii.

Argoth's reaction was a little more subtle than Zora men Rii had hugged in her lifetime. They normally flipped out and spluttered something about her being a little too strong in the ways she showed affection, but Rii also noted that such reactions were normally more subtle when she was wearing clothes. But he hugged her back. His reaction to her question about his memory loss was stronger. Rii cocked her head to one side, a soft smile on her lips at Argoth's confusion. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Eldrin looked confused as well. So he hadn't known. "I have voices in my head," she replied, as if that explained everything. Her arms remained around him for a moment longer as she thought about how it was different from hugging the Zora guards, probably because he exuded warmth, unlike her former scaly roommates. Then she withdrew from Argoth, smile widening up at him. "I think it comes from my healing lineage, but it's very nice to have." Rii then frowned. "What's the last thing you remember?"

Max gazed at the two of them, almost lost in thought. Come to think of it he never knew anything about his mentor's past, although, he never asked. Still, Argoth never talked about it, and this must have been why. Fascinated, Max stared at Rii and Argoth to see what would become of this conversation.
A small smile peeled back his lips when Rii answered with, "I have voices in my head." He found it quite humorous. And he didn't notice until she let go of him, but the hug she had given him was rather cold. Well, she was a fish person, so that pretty much explained it. Then she asked him something that he had never really thought about. It was a difficult question indeed. "Hm..I've never really thought about it. I guess the last thing I remember was about fifteen years ago. I had left home to join the Assassins of Hyrule. And...yeah, that's it."

Rii hummed as he explained his last memory. Interesting. She'd dealt with amnesia right after occurred, and most often she knew the person and could help them rediscover their past because she'd been apart of it. But she didn't know Argoth, and it sounded like he was missing over a decade. "And you didn't know about this?" Rii asked, glancing over at Eldrin. It had seemed like they were good friends, but from the way it looked when Rii had mentioned the memory loss, Eldrin had no idea.
Rii felt the strong urge to fix this. No one deserved not remembering. They were his. But she needed to get some facts straight first.
