Name: Na'ako [NAH-uh-koh]
Age: 11
Race: Human
Instrument: None
Weapon: Whalebone Staff
Na'ako's staff is a sturdy tool carved from the bones of a large whale. At the very top of the staff, six wolf teeth line one side. From the other side of the top, a long hawk feather hangs by a twine string. The staff is about 3 inches in circumference and 5 1/2 feet long.
Power: As long as he is touching his staff, Na'ako can sense the spirits of the dead in his general vicinity, and can speak with them to a certain extent. Due to his young age and lack of training, he can not use any spiritual powers without his staff.
Appearance: Na'ako has jet black hair tied back in a short ponytail from the top of his head. His eyes are a striking ice blue color. Being of tribal descent, his skin is a little darker than most people's. He is 4'11" and weighs only 82 lbs. He is in very good shape for his age, having been raised as a hunter and warrior from a young age.
History: Na'ako was born to a tribe of nomads that lived in the Snowhead Region of Termina. As was tribal custom, his parents were never explicitly identified. Instead, he was raised by the tribe itself. Similarly, they were raised to think of everyone in their tribe as siblings. Despite this, throughout his childhood, Na'ako grew close to a younger girl named Mikka [MEE-kah]. This girl came to be more like a sister to him than anyone else in the tribe. As a boy, Na'ako was trained to be a warrior and hunter like all of the other males of the tribe. Though Na'ako excelled at such activities, he clearly lacked any interest in it. He was a pacifist at heart, and could hardly stand to harm another living being. He showed intense compassion for others very early on, whether they were human or not. In stark contrast, Mikka rejected the matronly duties that were forced upon the women of the tribe, preferring "men's work" such as fighting and hunting. When Na'ako was nine years old, the tribe's shaman came to him. The old shaman, Uli'ik, claimed that the young Na'ako was the most spiritually in-tune person he'd met in all of his long years. He declared Na'ako as his successor, and from that day on he was trained to be the next shaman. The shaman gave him a whalebone staff, carved by Uli'ik himself in his younger days. When he turned eleven, it was decided that Na'ako should continue his training with the Desert Monks of the Gerudo Desert. This was an old tradition that had been practiced for many generations. As was custom, Na'ako had to travel alone to the Gerudo Desert.
