"No wonder the spirits here were speaking so much on this day...if this man preforms his ritual on the same day every year...they must feed off of the energy." Azrael spoke aloud.

Jalex looked at the three before him. "Do you three need anything?" The man asked as he finished off his wrappings and patted them to make sure they were firm. "I'll answer any question you have and will help you if you need anything." Jalex stood tall his feet slightly blackened by ash and browned by dirt.

Eldrin stared curiously at the bandaged arms, wondering what it felt like. "So, if he just suddenly stopped, it would be like putting the spirits on a diet... I'm sure it would help, after all it sounds like they'd be getting pretty fat after all this eating... GLUTTONOUS FIENDS!!!"
Suddenly distracted Eldrin turned to Jalex. "So, is that an orthodox method of worship? Or is that just your own personal tribute to her?"

Jalex smiled at the question. "The original way of prayer is far more kind. It was just a simply branding, then after that a yearly voyage to a spot of prayer, where the disciple would place their ear ring into a fire, before retrieved it, usual the hand his barely burned. My prayer is considered to be extreme or dangerous to most. With the extended contact with the flames and placing the ear ring straight into the ear while it's just left the flames." Jalex smiled at the question, as he then pulled the right shoulder of his robe down, across his whole back blazed into the skin the mark of din. "And generally the brand is much smaller, as small as the hand.

Eldrin stared in shock. "Wow, that looks... painful..." He said, interested in the brand. Burns always fascinated him, as he was immune. "So, how did you come to worship her?"

"That is simple, my mother worshipped the three goddesses, but I could never worship Nayru or Farore as much as Din. I really became a disciple when I began to live on this mountain before moving from this place, I found an old tome left by a follower who died during their last pilgrimage, they burned their self when they pass on. They left a tome and this ear ring, my keep sake." Jalex covered his shoulder once more as he looked back at the man questioning him. "I am glad you find my choice fascinating as well as my worship, there are still a few spots on this mountain that have maintained old alters. I wish to make pilgrimages to the fire temple one day in nothing but my robe, like my predecessors'. That was the original pilgrimage by the first worshipper of Din." Jalex grinned as he thought about it more before shaking his head, it was an interesting thought really.
Jalex ran a hand through his hair before looking at his fingertips showing from under the bandages, the blackened skin turning pale white quickly.

"My reason for being here is because of the spirits...They seem to be attracted to the energy of your prayers. They feed off of it...I've never been near Death Mountain around the time of a prayer for Din." Azrael said.

"I hope my prayers gave them a good feast then, if they speak of this day with anxiousness then it means I am really showing my praise to Din." Jalex replied as he raised an eyebrow as he thought of the spirits and his pilgrimages over the years.

"They await anxiously every year for this." Azrael said to Jalex. He then turned to look at the Follower of Din and said "My name is Azrael Siskin, the last of the Desert Monks."

"Ironic the spirits await my return, but the people at the base of this mountain loath it." Jalex chuckled still at the thought of his pilgrimages providing a feast for spirits. "It is surprising to see a monk, especially one from the desert. Though I should learn to expect such things in this day and age." He was truly curious and surprised at hearing the man was a monk.

As Faro continued up the path, he encountered the smell of burning flesh. Smells like the Din worshipper is compensating for lack of a congregation. Faro waved the smell away, and continued up the mountain. He neared the others shortly. "Smells like a cookout up here. What's going on?" He asked.

"Nothing but a prayer, and unless you enjoy the flesh of hylians I doubt you would like to feast on me." Jalex chuckled as he rubbed his arms, the pain was bearable to an extent. "I don't follow the more modern methods of prayer to Din, I use a more extreme means. But the smell should pass on soon."

"It explains why the spirits await for his prayers...he uses those of the old days...which is when most of these spirits were alive...plus the stench of burning flesh attracts the ones who were more recent and died of starvation from getting lost up here.." Azrael thought, he looked up as Faro spoke. He could feel something radiating from this man...it felt dark...some of it was guilt...but for what.
Azrael kept silent and placed his hands in the opposite sleeves. (Think of what the Buddihst monks do)

"While my prayers are sacred I do not mind telling other of what they entail and what methods I use, my apprentice has seen my prayers first hand. Din's worshippers have never had any problem with displays of our faith before those who do not share our views." Jalex simply raised an eyebrow as he felt his skin covering the burnt flesh beneath the bandages, the pain was subsiding slowly, but the burning sensation would last for days.
"Any question you ask, I shall answer. Be them of my faith or myself in general. But in return I would ask you answer a question of mine as well."

"Well, I was wondering if I should be more grateful to Din. I can do this after all." Faro conjured a ball of fire and tossed it to his other hand before letting it dissapate. "What are your thoughts on that?"
