Name: Anaius
Age: 25
Race: Hylian
Abilities/Powers: Anaius has the power of osmosis. He can absorb only knowledge, memories, and skills. However, such things as absorbing substances like wood or metal are not something he is capable of. Anaius is also highly intelligent.
Weapons: Anaius carries no weapons for most of the time he has no need for them.
Appearance: Anaius has a bold looking face with ocean blue eyes and short dark brown hair that is just above his eyes. His body is highly toned but not that muscular. He is about 6 feet tall 190 lbs. Aniaus looks his age and has a fairly average body type. He has a fair skin color. His clothing consists of a normal white tunic and brown shorts. Anaius hates to wear anything on his feet and often doesn't, going everywhere no matter what the climate in his bare feet. Over time he has developed a pair of feet that can withstand almost any type of surface at almost any temperature. Anaius always wears a necklace with the crest of Nayru, the goddess of wisdom, on it, for it was his mothers given to him by his caretaker Griswold.
History: Orphaned at birth Anaius grew up in a remote orphanage just outside of kakariko village. While growing up there Anaius had a very normal childhood and played well with many of the other orphans. To this day Aniaus is still quite good friends with many of them, however, he does not seem them often. An avid reader, Anaius would almost never be caught without a book in his hand. It was here that Anaius began to notice his osmosis abilities for he could pick up information faster and better than any of the other kids and he hardly had to read the book. Although, his abilities did not fully flower until well into his teens, and he felt that skimming books was cheating so he would often read the entire thing. The nuns and other children at the orphanage often considered him a prodigy because of his ability to absorb and retain information so quickly, but Anaius never quite liked being seen in that light.
When Anaius was eleven a mysterious old man came to the orphanage to adopt him. The old man had a semi large belly and a grey beard that stretched out to the middle of his sternum. His face was only lightly pudgy and his eyes were a calm faded blue. At first Anaius was wary of the old man's intentions and refused to go with him, attempting to flee the orphanage in order to escape him. During the night of his escape attempt a package was delivered and on it read, To prove that I am no stranger. Anaius knew it must have been from that old man and decided to open it. Inside was a picture and a necklace. The picture was of his mother and the old man, sitting together in the hospital with little Anaius in the old man's arms. Anaius had only ever known what his mother looked like from a single photo that was with him when he was delivered to the orphanage. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him and his father died before he was born. Looking at the picture he knew that this was his mother, he spent many nights staring at the one he already had wishing she was alive to care for him. The necklace Anaius recognized instantly, it was the same necklace that his mother had on in the photo he posessed: a silver chain with the crest of Nayru(the goddess of wisdom) hanging from the end. Numerous questions popped into his mind and it was then he decided to leave with the mysterious old man.
From that day onward Anaius never took the necklace off for anything. After leaving he learned that the old man's name was Griswold and that he was a long time family friend. Griswold had left him at the orphanage to protect him from a rogue assassin group who was after his mother and father's fortune they left behind for him. Once Griswold felt it was time he took Anaius from the orphanage help him actualize his osmosis abilities should he ever be attacked by them. He inherited his power from his mother, a direct descendant of Nayru. When Anaius was 17 he could fully use his abilities, simply placing his hand on a book would allow him all the knowledge it possessed.
Over the next eight years Anaius and Griswold became extremely close, bonding as a father and son would. At 19 Anaius wanted to explore the world for himself and left Griswold at his house(which turned out to be Anaius's parents house) on a remote island just off shore of the Great Bay region. For many years Anaius has been doing odd jobs and generally exploring the world. Every month he visits the orphanage where he grew up.
