The Gerudo Fortress was a death trap to any that the thieves considered a threat.
Which... unfortunately meant any man that wasn't their king or proved their worth that dared to step forth on their land.
Ever since the Hero of Time managed to gain their favor they had allowed any man to take a test. Of course it had been increased in difficulty since the Hero of Time did it.
Of course... that only explains why many of our heroes were able to enter the fortress without punishment.
If, of course, any they entered without the Gerudo's favor attempted the test and failed it, they were thrown into the prison and either executed, sexually abused until he got the highest bidder pregnant and then executed.
But... there was one who they kept. Locked in the deepest pits of 'Hell' as it was called by the other inmates.
This one... this man... was feared by his captors. They dared not even speak or think about him. Not even Ganondorf, the King of the Gerudo, was aware that the man was anything but a legend.
Guards were usually stationed at least several floors from where he was imprisoned.
They dared not to go near him save for several times a day to feed him and change out his bathroom bucket.
Two Gerudo guards were nearing the end of their shift, ready to be relieved from duty for the evening. They slumped on the walls from exhaustion and one yawned loudly, making it echo.
"Let be shown that we are known as pirates, sailing free.."
Singing wafted through the dungeon.
From it's furthest depths.
Where he was kept prisoner.
The guards froze
"... time to raise the flag up high, of jolly roger in the sky."
They stared down into the darkness, the singing echoing through the halls.
"Raise the sails and tell the tales that never pass you by. Somewhere in the endless sky, a storm has started coming by."
Then silence.

Azrael stopped dead in his tracks as he walked into the fortress. The desert night wind, whipping his back and making his robes billow and the sand kick up.
"Something isn't right..."
