This character is primarily an experiment. I'm not actually sure if Im going to keep him here I just want to use him so I can get used to writing as him and to shape him into the way I want to. Thomas is a character that I am going to use in a novel that I am co-writing and I just want to get my feet wet writing as him. So here goes.
Name: Thomas Kane
Age: 21
Race: Human
Abilities/Powers: None
Weapons: Thomas carries a steel dagger engraved with special runes he carved himself. The runes magically infuse his weapon with paralysis. Thomas studies magic and can practice it with ease but his powers do not come from an innate ability to use magic. (Since everyone has the ability to study and use magic in this context I am not putting it in the abilities/powers category)
Appearance: Thomas is 6 feet tall with closely cropped brown hair, his facial features are proportionate, but distinctively attractive. His eyes are a cool blue/grey and seem to have only one setting. Little emotion passes through his face so often times he looks disconnected or indifferent. His body type is average, fitting his age and stature rather neatly. He isn't that muscular but what muscle he does have has slight definition. His clothing (Which I shall conform to Zelda attire for the purpose of this forum) consists of light brown colored boots that rise up his shins. A stark black tunic with navy blue cloth pants, all shrouded under a dark blue hooded cloak.
History: Thomas had a very normal home life. His father and mother were the staple parents that any child could have wanted. They love him unconditionally and gave him the best life they could. However, from a very early age Thomas noticed he was not like other kids. While it took almost no effort at all for his siblings to make friends and connect with others it did not come so naturally to Thomas. In fact, he feels alienated from his fellow human beings because he cannot sympathize nor empathize with them. Love is a completely foreign concept to him so he is even distant with his own family. However, putting on a believable façade is something he is very capable of, although he prefers not to. Thomas is a very self centered individual because of this. The feelings of others don't really matter to him, so when going about social interactions Thomas will never personally engage in one unless he feels he can get something out of it. From a very early age Thomas also discovered that he could hear voices that nobody else could. Also from an early age he discovered that these voices were hallucinations, conjurations of his mind that he simply had to overcome. Thomas grew up with a proper education and excelled heavily in everything. His intellectual prowess is incredible, which allows him to deal with his condition rather well. He plans meticulously and always seems to be one step ahead.Another, rather unnerving side effect of Thomas's condition is that with his lack of emotion and general disregard for others it makes him particularly deadly. If it weren't for is higher cognitive abilities rationalizing the consequences of his actions, Thomas could easily be a devastating force against all of Hylia. At 20 years old he moved away from his life at home and is now wandering around Hyrule in pursuit of a broader study of magic.
OOC: His history is a bit shoddy simply because I had to transport it here and not everything can be transcribed into the Zelda universe easily. He is also a character that I find very complex so I don't really have everything worked out with him, which is primarily why I need to write with him. This is very much a way for me to discover my own character the way I see it.
