(I decided that all of my characters need a new history since most of them either suck or dont have one. SO! I decided to do a mini storyline for each of them explaining what their past was like, and the fun part is all of you get to join me! ;D)
Mathayus sat in front of a small fire in Kokiri Forest. He had his knees up and his arms gently rested upon them. The orange glow of the fire lit up his front spewing a shadow across the ground behind him. He stared into the flames with a calm intensity. The moon loomed over head of him like a giant glowing ball acompanied by thousands upon thousands of stars. All of his weapons lay on the left beside him, a small blanket and pillow on the right. He had made camp out in the forest after a long day of tracking and killing a group of bandits. Mathayus let out a long sigh, he was weary and needed sleep. Unfortunately, sleep would not welcome him into its gentle arms no matter how much he tried. His mind wandered to the days of his past, they had always haunted him so. Just as Mathayus was about to give sleep one more try three ninja walked into the light of his fire.
All of them looked identical to Mathayus, except for maybe height and eye color, but that was the only discernible difference. Mathayus abruptly stood up, glaring at the men who had just shown themselves; his katana was already in his hand. How the hell did they find me.. he thought.
"You're a hard man to find, Mathayus. We're lucky to have caught you at all," the man in front said.
Mathayus piercing eyes rested upon the man who spoke, "Did I not make myself clear enough the last time you showed your face, Ikaru," he replied, anger lacing every word. The grip on his sword became tighter, his knuckles were white and on the verge of popping.
"This time will be different, Mathayus. For I am not alone this time, and you are no match for me, even if I were alone. You see, after our last encounter I took it upon myself to make sure I was better than you before coming here."
"I'm not going back, Ikaru, and you know that. So I believe this time you have been ordered to execute me, is that right?"
"Exactly, so if you wouldn't mind making this easier for me, put down the blade Mathayus."
"Not happening. Understand Ikaru, that I do not plan on dying today, or any other day for that matter. Unless I choose to. So heed my words when I tell you to leave, or this will not end well for you."
Ikaru laughed out loud, "You are outmatched and outnumbered. It is time to give up Mathayus, you will not win this time."
"We will see."
The ninja that had accompanied Ikaru had surrounded Mathayus while the two of them were talking. They apparently thought he wasn't paying attention, and tried to sneak attack him from behind. Unfortunately for them, Mathayus knew thier whereabouts from the very beginning. He ducked as a blade swept over his head, and rolled to the side as another stabbed at him. He pivoted and sprang upward brandishing his blade out to his side. His blade swept right through the nearest ninja like a knife through butter, taking his leg off from the upper thigh down. Before the man could even begin to fall Mathayus removed his head from his shoulders, ending is life for good. The next ninja reacted so poorly it took Mathayus a matter of a second to end his life. Both ninja were dead before Ikaru could even move from where he stood.
"Very impressive Mathayus, but those two were just for me to assess your abilities. And it seems you have still got it. Now, let the real battle begin," Ikaru complemented. Mathayus tightened the grip on his sword once again, readying himself for the upcoming battle.
Ikaru lunged forward whipping a pair of shuriken as a distraction. Mathayus parried both out of the way and flipped over Ikaru. He landed on the other side just in time to duck under a lightning fast blade that zoomed over his head. The two of them exchanged blows for a long time before Mathayus drove his fist into Ikaru's stomach as hard as he could. His opponent easily recoverd and elbowed Mathayus in the temple. Stars burst into his vision and he stumbled to the side. A kick followed that struck Mathayus in the ribs, then another to the face. Mathayus rolled backwards and regained his footing quickly enough to evade a katana aimed for his heart, but just barely. The blade ripped through his clothing but left no mark on him. Mathayus dropped his own blade to get a double grip onto Ikaru's blade arm. He violently twisted it forcing Ikaru to release his katana. A loud snapping sound echoed through the forest as Mathayus drove his elbow into Ikaru's joint, snapping his arm in two. Ikaru screamed out but was quickly silenced when Mathayus drove his fist into his throat. Mathayus's opponent sailed backward a good six feet and hit the ground.
Mathayus casually approached the down ninja and said, "You are still just as weak as before Ikaru, you cannot take me. Your arrogance has clouded your judgment and hampered your abilities."
Ikaru gritted his teeth, "This fight is not over yet," he growled, and delivered a scissor kick to Mathayus's legs. The ninja nearly did a full side flip before handspringing with his right arm and back onto his feet. Ikaru had launched himself upward directly in front of his opponent, and the two of them began a long battle of martial arts. Mathayus however, was clearly superior especially with Ikaru's broken arm, and quickly overcame Ikaru in about thirty seconds. He delivered a powerful open hand strike to Ikaru's chest driving him backward. With the base of his heel he jumped and spin kicked Ikaru dead in the face sending him flying to the ground. Ikaru staggered back to his feet and Mathayus distributed several punches to the chest and ribs, a spin kick to the head, a punch to the thigh that brought him to one knee, and to finish it all off a backflip uppercut kick that flung him ten feet in the opposite direction.
Mathayus strolled over to Ikaru's deibilitated body, "This is what I told you would happen did I not? But this time Ikaru, I will not show mercy," he growled. He knelt down beside his once fellow ninja and withdrew a kunai from Ikaru's belt. "Goodbye, friend."
"Wait, there is something I need to tell you. She's alive Mathayus, she's alive."
Mathayus's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates, "What did you just say..?
"She's alive, Ayame is alive."
"What? How!? I saw her die!? Tell me how!? Mathayus's heart was pounding at the speed of light and he found himself violently shaking Ikaru for answers. Ikaru had a malicious smile on his face, "Why don't you go find out for yourself," he replied, laughing maniacly just before ending his own life with kunai to the throat. Mathayus dropped Ikaru's dead carcass and returned to his feet. There is no way she's alive..it's just not possible. I need to know for sure, he thought. Mathayus returned to his little campsite and began to gather his things, he was going to relive his past.
(Okay, for the sake of this thread, I would please ask all those who join to not do or talk about anything that isn't relevant to the topic at hand. I need to get this moving and I dont want to read a bajillion posts about how Eldrin is stealing stuff or fighting a giant plant. Haha, sorry to pick on you Eldrin. Its just an example.)
