Iona stopped and flounced on over in front of Mathayus. "Excuse me? Excuse me. Woman? I have a name so I'm not 'Woman' like you own me or I'm one of your domesticated Hylian women or something. And yes, I'm joining you and I'm going to get in your way because that's just what I do. Now, tell me what is it that is crawling up your ass and making you such good company?" she demanded, crossing her arms and waiting for his response. Aetis stared at Mathayus.

(That was perfect! Thank you Mathayus's reaction was so fast not even light could have caught up with him. He had his katana out and pressed firmly against Iona's throat. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again, or next time I won't stop at your neck." he threatened. Mathayus lowered his blade from the woman's neck and thought for a long moment. It was only fair that if they were to join him that they know what they were walking into. And he felt a tiny bit of remorse for upsetting Iona. His eyes wandered to the ground and stayed there. For a while he said nothing as he was searching for the right words to say. "I was married once," his voice was barely audible, "Her name was Ayame. She was everything to me, but then she was murdered by the organization I used to be a part of called Eternal Shadow. I went rogue..but before I could exact my revenge they drove me out. And I've been here ever since." Mathayus looked up at Iona, the pain behind his eyes was clearly noticeable, "But now, I have been given information that she is alive. It could posibly be a trap to lure me back there and have me killed for treason. I don't care. I am headed back to that place now in search for answers." he finished.

"Heavy." Mike thought upon hearing Mathayus' words. "Do not worry. We'll stay out of way the best we can." He assured his friend. "Won't we, Iona?" He said, looking over to her.

Iona wiped the blood dripping from the cut on her throat. So he was that kind of person. She blinked slowly, letting the action slide, pleased that Aetis didn't overreact. "We will, we will. So as long as that doesn't happen again,"she replies coolly, calming her nerves. It took all of her not to kill him outrightly with a bolt to his brain. "I am willing to go look for your Ayame. I've never known what it is to lose somebody like that beacuse it's never existed for me. I'm curious to see what she's like anyways," she said, rolling her shoulders and her and Aetis seemed to fall in a private conversation.
"It's fine. We'll just return the onyx to his servant. He can't be hard to spot. He reeks of the dark magics. You'll spot him from a mile away. Quit worrying," she muttered to him, pocketing the gem. Aetis glanced at the trees and shivered.

His wife was killed by his comrades? Faro shot a worrisome glance in the direction of Hyrule Castle. No, she's heavily guarded, and she herself is quite difficult to kill. I need not worry. I should keep following these ones, perhaps I will find the answers I'm looking for.

Eldrin watched silently as Mathayus killed his former comrades. He had been tracking the killer of a local group of bandits, and now he found that it was a friend. He feared that Kadina may be among those slain, Mathayus didn't know the bandit as far as he could remember, and the report said that the bandits had been completely wiped out. He didn't want to fight Mathayus, but he couldn't forgive him if he had harmed her.
The theif was just about to pounce upon the ninja and interrogate him when several more Mathayuses showed up. He watched in confusion as Mathayus conversed with himself, then killed two of the other Mathayuses, and finally the Mathayus that he called Ikaru. Eldrin waited until the surviving Mathayus left and was joined by Mike and Iona before revealing himself. He ran out into the remains of the campsite and scavenged the two parried shuriken, the kunai that ended Ikaru-Mathayus's life, and Ikaru-Mathayus's katana. He needed weapons if he was going to confront Mathayus. Leaving Ikaru-Mathayus and the other two Mathayuses and was about to tail them alone when he noticed another person in the shadows.
Eldrin appeared next to Faro, nodding silently to him. He knew Faro would have his own reasons for following Mathayus, and he didn't seem to wish to be noticed either.

Mathayus fell silent and turned to a part of the shadow not far from where they were all standing. "I know you have been following me Eldrin, you and that other man should show yourselves,". he said.

Iona stopped and scowled. Eldrin? How is he here? She felt the onyx in her pocket and paused, thinking. Maybe he could get rid of it. She scanned the trees and glanced at Aetis, who was staring at a squrriel. "He's here? Why? How? I'm confused," she muttered, holding a hand to her pounding head. It was going to be a long while being with this Mathayus, wasn't it?

As Mathayus turned Eldrin did something random and quite unexpected. He literally picked up Faro, holding him like some kind of living doll. As Mathayus spoke he threw Faro into the bushes casually, as if tossing aside something now useless. He walked out of the bushes, scratching his head and chuckling. "Just me... I was gonna throw Ikaru's corpse at you an' scare you... Guess you caught me!" He said in his normal cheerful voice. He was putting up a perfect façade of happiness... As far as they needed to know nothing was wrong. He had tried his best to keep Faro's cover. After all, it wasn't Faro's fault they had been caught. Eldrin had been to distracted and hadn't been as stealthy as he could've been. If he had set his mind to it he would have been quiet as a shadow and invisible as the wind. He grinned and made eye contact with the ninja. "I heard about Ayame... Let's go... Let's find her." He said to low for Iona and Mike to hear.

Faro hit the ground without so much as a whisper passing his lips. Ow. He looked toward Eldrin, and saw that the man they'd been watching had found him. He saw a guard and a gerudo woman; two people who could his presence here very unpleasant if he were discovered, so he played along, and lay motionless in the bushses, waiting for them to move on. Good thing I can follow them without seeing them.

Mathayus stared at Eldrin for a very long time trying to figure out if he had some alterior motive to want to help. A feeling like Eldrin was up to no good sat in the pit of his stomach. Mathayus nodded, "Don't get in my way," he said it as if he were issuing an ulitmatum to the thief. 'If you are up to something Eldrin, don't even try it,' was the message he was conveying. He turned away from Eldrin and began walking the in the direction he had gone before all the people decided to join him. "If you are joining, then follow me," he said without looking back.
(Alright this is the end of the thread, just do your last posts following Mathayus or whatever. I'll set up the new thread when I return.)

Snap a few twigs, for me, Eldrin. Faro thought.

Iona opened her mouth to speak, then closed it, blinking in confusion. Where were they going now? She glanced at Aetis, who pointed his head in that direction and Iona sighed, but followed the others, a million questions left unspoken by her.

Eldrin followed Mathayus, loudly crashing through the foliage and scaring most of the wildlife. He snapped more than a few twigs.
