Name: Rolaka
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Race: Goron
Occupation: Pit fighter, wrestler, and occasionally guard duty.
Instrument: None.
Weapon: His fists. Often wears iron gauntlets to increase damage.
Abilities: As a goron, Rolaka is exceptionally strong and durable. He can throw boulders thrice his size and the rocky hide on his back can shrug off most physical attacks.
His inborn ability to roll also allows him to travel at great speeds and barrel through obstacles and enemies.
Weaknesses: - Due to his sheer weight, deep water will greatly hinder his movements. He can hold his breath for a long time, but this cannot last forever and will, eventually, drown.
- His front side is softer than his back, therefore attacks to his chest and stomach will hurt (even with all his muscle).
- He is unaccustomed to cold temperatures. As such, colder conditions and ice magic will negatively impact his fighting ability.
Appearance: - Large muscular arms with the symbol of the Goron Ruby on both shoulders. An equally large torso with immense pectorals and a round yet firm belly.
- Deep blue eyes typical of most gorons. A stubby nose and wide mouth.
- Jet black hair starting from the top of his head and pointing back into three spikes. Three short spikes of hair on his chin which point down.
- Multiple scars across his body, proof of his experience in battle. Most notably, a large horizontal scar across the left side of his forehead.
- His iron gauntlets and red loincloth are his only garments.
Personality and Quirks: - He is, like many gorons, boisterous and knows how to rouse a crowd. However, also like his brethren, he will only trust outsiders when they've proven their strength.
- He is an honorable fighter, and will hesitate to attack and unarmed or unskilled opponent. However, deep down, he enjoys brutalizing his enemies, especially when they've caused him or his goron brothers major trouble.
- He acts as a mentor and trainer to many would-be warriors. However, he lacks empathy when misfortune befalls others outside of his circle of trust, and even struggles to show empathy to those inside it.
- He is disgusted by treachery and deception. If he suspects someone is trying to play him, he will immediately dismiss their very presence; if not clobber them on the spot.
- He is secure in both his purpose in life and his identity. He regularly prays to the goddess Din, usually before or after a fierce battle.
History: Rolaka never knew his parents. Both had been long dead by the time he grew into a child. As a child, Rolaka was rambunctious and hot-headed. When he wasn't trying to wrangle a dodongo, he was tumbling down Death Mountain's slopes to cultivate his rolling ability. He would always go for a nice hot spring bath and a glass of milk afterwards (a practice he upholds to this day). Through the years, Rolaka learned how to box and wrestle with the goron elders, and took to pit-fighting and sumo wrestling as soon as he was of minimum age. The goron patriarch, while pleased with his prospects, would not simply let him use his skills solely as an entertainer. Rolaka would, from time to time, be placed on guard duty or be sent on guard missions outside of the mountain range. However, these missions would prove difficult for Rolaka; his inexperience with the outside world lead to some awkward moments at best, and downright blunders at worst. One time, out of sheer clumsiness, he destroyed most of a milk shipment to Castle Town which he was meant to protect. It was on one of these missions which handed him his biggest defeat. Four years ago, at age 21, his scout regiment was hired to protect a Hylian of some importance (a politician, he was told, and that's all he remembers). While on the trail, their convoy was beset upon by a wave of raging bokoblins riding on boar-back (Twilight Princess style). The gorons fought back and protected their client, but then he appeared. A hulking, armored bokoblin with an albino boar as a steed. King Skulblin! The terrible king charged headlong at the carriage the client was riding in. Rolaka, with all his might, rolled thunderously across the field to intercept them. He succeeded, King Skulblin was thrown from his boar, and the steed itself violently tumbled away. King Skulblin engages in combat with Rolaka, and it was an all-out beating between the two of them. Ultimately, King Skulblin was too much for the goron warrior and left him beaten and bloodied. Thankfully, Rolaka's goron brothers drove Skulblin and the bokoblins off before it got any worse. The mission was a success, but Rolaka had required immediate medical attention. The large scar on his forehead is now a reminder to Rolaka for many reasons. It tells him he is not invincible, and yet he can still survive such a grievous wound. It reminds him that even a personal loss can result in a positive outcome. And most of all, it reminds him that there is someone he will face again someday.
