History: On a still and gloomy night at the Castle Town gates, a basket was left near the drawbridge under a lone tree. In this basket was an infant, no more than a few weeks old. With this newborn babe was a small note that read, "Call me 'Mike'. Take me to her Highness." The guards brought forth this mysterious infant to Zelda who decided he would be trained in Hyrule's Guard and become a defender of the Royal Family. Mike's growth showcased innate abilities in movement and combat. He learned quickly in the arts of swordfighting, stealth, and leadership. Mike became the youngest Captain of the Guard at 18 years of age, and soon encountered the new heroes of Hyrule who have risen up since Zelda's departure. Eventually, he met Maximus, a child taken in by Argoth. Maximus' inner-demon once gained full control over the boy, and in the ensuing battle, Mike's eyes were destroyed by the demon's vicious attacks. Broken and blinded, Mike's recovery was slow, and he was discharged from the Guard. In order to hide from Syrus, the man responsible for Max's demon, Mike retired to the Snowhead region of Termina. With some of his savings, he purchased a small remote cottage along the hills near the mountain. In this harsh environment, Mike retrained himself to live with his total blindness and retain his independence. However, he could not maintain the sharpness and durability of his katanas due to said blindness. He traded his twin katanas to the blacksmith of Snowhead in exchange for two Gilded Swords, blades which are renowned for their longevity and low-maintenance. Two years since his arrival to Termina, Mike has learned to live and fight again. But for what? All he had known in life was service to the Royal Family and battle against its greatest foes. Upon introspection, Mike found he had no purpose outside of Hyrule's finest, feeling as though he were a drifting spirit. However, after a chance encounter in Clock Town's Milk Bar, and the quest to slay a Werewolfos that followed, he began to feel a sense of purpose once again. Mike decided to become a monster hunter. To serve the Goddesses, and protect the people of Hyrule and Termina from the ferocious beasts and terrible creatures infesting the kingdoms. If Mike is to face Syrus and his demons again someday, he will need all the help and experience he can get.
