Sweat beaded Alemine's brow as she trudged along behind her companion, miserable in the brassy, suffocatingly hot air. The sound of churning and boiling lava disturbed her, and she was sleepy from the heat. She didn't know how her superior was taking it. Shoulders slumped, she dragged her feet across the hot rock under her boots and reluctantly followed along.
Briskly walking ahead of Alemine, something caught the woman's eye. Her hair damp with presperation, her chocolate and auburn colored curls actually looked tamed, laying limp against her back. Clearly unfazed by the heat, the woman came upon a rock and paused studying it. Alemine bumped into her, and stumbled back, surprised, and looked at what held her companion's attention and her eyes widened in disgust.
"Pyrrha! Ew, no! Why are you looking at that?"she demanded, stumbling back away from the sight, appalled. The woman, named Pyrrha, studied her surroundings. "Somebody was here. Come," she told Alemine, gesturing to the vomit, then digging into a pouch tied by a bright red sash to her hips. Pulling out a mint leaf, she chewed on it thoughtfully and started to walk to the direction of a cavern, glancing behind her to make sure her young charge followed. Alemine stared at the mess, and jogged after Pyrrha, clutching a small, rose colored counch shell.
At last, they came upon a chamber, a certain cave with the overwhelming stench of rot pouring from it. Alemine clutched her throat in an involuntary reaction of shock and then covered her mouth as she stifled a scream, tears forming in her eyes. Pyrrha ignored the corpses, sadly used to such a sight, and held her spear in a ready position to those who stood among the dead and were living. She caught sight of a familiar face and her eyes narrowed.
"Sanger? You...did this?"she asked the red haired man, shocked and a little more than angry. Alemine backed away behind Pyrrha, too stunned to do little else, tears pouring from her eyes.

"I remember, Eldrin...I've been thinking that what we saw Jalex preform...was no simple ancient Din worship..." Azrael said, he looked over at Sanger and got the chills down his spine. He ignored them for the time being and started to walk to the dragon child when he heard someone speak from the entrance. He turned his head to look at them.
One was a young girl with blonde hair, she was shy and timid as she hid behind the older woman with red hair. "I'm afraid it wasn't the one called Sanger who did this...it was a Din worshipper gone mad by the name of Jalex.." Azrael said before turning back to the child.
"It's not safe here, young one. I cannot imagine what you've been through...but it's over now. We are friends."

Maximus turned to the boy as well, "Yeah! We're friends now! So lets get out of here. This place is horrifying," Max shivered slightly as the last words escaped his lips. He latched onto the boys hand, smiling the whole time, and led him out of the lab. "Come on." He hadn't noticed that Alemine and Pyrrha were there yet.
Icylius stepped back a little more from the doorway, the smell was making him sick. His eyes wandered elsewhere and he proceeded to back farther away. Just as he was backing toward the opposite wall, two more people decided to show up. Icylius lowered his hood to get a better look at them in his peripherals. The first woman he didn't recognize but trailing her was a face he did. Alemine, the girl he had met back in Market Town. His eyes fixated on her for a moment as he watched her cry. Something inside him sank, he couldn't tell if it was his stomach or his heart, or both. The sight of Alemine crying made him want to say something to her, but with all these people around he didn't want to seem like he cared. He shifted uneasily, backing up even more so, until his back was pressed up against the far wall. Icylius's eyes were still on the woman, he was frowning heavily at her tears, he didn't like to see her cry. Suddenly an anger rose up inside him, he didn't like feeling this way, he hadn't since his childhood. It was a mystery to him as to what inside him provoked these feelings. He ripped his gaze away and stared at the ground trying to pretend he was invisible.

Veliun turned, his throat burned and his skin was dry. This was severe for zoras, he kept any words to himself as he made his way past the people gathered. He grasped at his shoulder before sneering as he made his way away from everyone and away from the accursed lab. [Exit Veliun-Veliun demoted to minor character]
The young boy yanked his hand away from the other child as he felt the touch of skin. "Don't touch me, I...I don't know....who you are.....or anything." The child whispered as his mind was in turmoil trying to figure out the situation and drawing blanks and random words and places to mind. "Stay away." The boy said his eyes narrowing and his pupils turning to slits as he glared at the man before him.
"Can you tell me....where I am?" The boy asked curiously as he averted his gave from everyone, before his hand traced the stone substance into his hairline before following it upward and grasping onto the horn. A grimace appeared on his face, it felt natural but also unwanted. He winced as he tried to pull at it, only to receive a jolt of pain and quickly let go of the horn.
"Why....is everything so confusing." He muttered as he could hear roaring in the back of his mind, and see the movement of blades in his memories. He clutched at his face and growled in anger before smashing a hand into the table, his right fist burying itself in the old wood. "Someone answer me!" He yelled angrily, eyes darting between the people in the room.

Pyrrha glared at Sanger nonetheless, then in turn to the others for safe measure. Lowering her spear, she realized there wasn't an immediate threat to any of them, save for a distraught sickly horned child. She felt her heart flee for him, for such was her weakness, and her dark eyes softened as she sighed and absently patted Alemine's shoulder, who was already pulling herself back together, wiping her tears and looking at the bodies with a new found resolve.
"Somebody tell him, for I don't have a single clue what is going on here," she prompted the others that had been here before her, having a great desire to go and hold the kid, but restrained herself, deciding to keep her distance. Alemine recognized most of the people standing in front of her and offered a weak, watery smile, somehow already used to reuniting with her former comrades in such strange circumstances.

Max frowned at the young man as he withdrew his hand from his. He didn't feel the need to sugar coat it for the boy, if he wanted to know what happened, he was going to tell him straight up. "Oh, sorry kid. I My name is Maximus. Don't worry though, none of us are here to hurt you. All we know is that when we got here you were on that table, and...not..normal. We think this crazy guy name Jalex preformed experiments on you. I'm not really sure what, the only guy who would know anything about that would be him.." Max finished, pointing toward Veliun. At this point the little assassin noticed that two more people were here. Some girl he had never met, and Alemine. Max took a step forward and smiled at the young woman, "Hi Alemine!" He held up a hand and waved a little, then turned to the new girl to introduce himself. His face beamed up at her with a brilliant smile as well, "Hiya miss! my name is Maximus, what about you?" he casually held out his hand to shake hers.
Icylius folded his arms over his chest as he listened to the others around him. His eyes were still on the ground and he wondered what this Jalex character was really capable of. He wouldn't mind taking him out himself.

Though he had been told to stay away, Eldrin did nothing of the sort. As Maximus mentioned Jalex's experiments, his smile faltered slightly. "Don't worry though, none of us are normal." He said soothingly. "And we're gonna help you sort everything out. We'll make the confusion go away... You just have to trust us."
Sanger noticed Pyrrha still glaring and knew why. She still didn't trust him after the incident... No matter, he didn't care for her trust. At the moment he had no use for her. He watched the confused child from where he stood. He was no good at comforting anyone. He would be of no use here. He was just about to leave when he remembered something he had read in the notes. "Boy, do you know your name?" He asked, his harsh black eyes seemed to be glaring. They were always fierce, even when he was happy.

"Stay back, I don't know you.....nor do I trust you. At arms length." The young boy growled out as he rolled off the table, landing on his feet before standing up straight. His eyes quickly shifted to the man who had asked his name, and he felt confused and conflicted as he thought of it. He knew his name was Ivan, but it didn't feel correct, and another name came to mind as he closed his eyes in thought. "My name......my name is....I...In....Ink." The boy spoke as he said the word quietly a few times, it sounded correct and felt correct, as he spoke it and whispered it to himself.
The boy's red eyes snapped open and glared at the man now, as he spoke proudly. "My name is Ink." The child spoke clearly, it belonged to him and it felt correct as if he had been named that. "Who are you, you ask my name but do not give your own?" The child asked wary of the man now. He didn't feel secure and as he looked around, the bodies made him wonder and worry. He grimaced as he turned his head, his stomach felt off now as he closed his eyes, wincing a bit at the sight. "Why should I trust any of you.....you could have done this." The boy said quietly as he felt tears well up in his eyes, he was horrified at the sights before him and the people around him seemed to have been here before he awoke.

Alemine, tears rising anew in her eyes, came forward, stopping just at arms length, wanting nothing but to hug the kid. She couldn't possibly relate to what he's been through, she knew, but she felt compassion for him nonetheless. "I-I'm sorry..." she said helplessly, clasping her hands together and looking down, her thick bangs hiding her face.
Pyrrha nodded. "He has a point. Ink, I can assure I didn't do this, but I cannot speak for the rest of us," Pyrrha stated, glaring at Sanger. When she turned back to the boy, her eyes softened once more, which could only be decribed as warm, melted chocolate, despite her face was set sternly, almost cold as she tried to keep her feelings out of the situation.

Eldrin scratched his head and stared at the kid. He had never dealt with a child who was so difficult... Maximus was so naturally trusting and happy-go-lucky, and Sayo had such a passive nature. "I dunno... This one's a toughie..."
Sanger glared at the boy. "You shouldn't trust any of us..." He said turning around to leave. "I can tell you that the people here are innocent at least of the sins committed within this cavern. But you shouldn't trust what I say, as you don't know for sure." He said as he walked away. He stopped at the exit and shifted the notes to his other hand, freeing his right arm. He turned and looked at the boy. "Don't assume any of us have pure intentions... I can not speak for the others... But when I first saw you I aimed to kill you and end your pain. Then, when you awoke, I considered the possibility of using you as a weapon. A dispensable pawn the only purpose of which would be my personal gain. But now I see that you are too resilient for this. And now you are useless to me." He explained, his black eyes reflecting Ink's face back at him in the dim light. "I suggest you travel with these people, as they will no doubt hunt down the man that did this to you. I will soon hunt for this man also, but not alongside these people... I want answers from the man, not blood." He turned back around. "But once again, don't trust me... Don't trust anyone... That will only get you killed."

Ink scowled at the man, his red eyes focused on him as he spoke of killing him, then of using him. But the young lad resigned himself to simply turning his head away from him, before scowling once more as he looked back at monk. "Show me the way out, that is all I ask.....I don't think it would be wise to sit and rot here....or get myself killed searching for the way." The child said as his scowl faded, he felt confused more than he did angry as he stood there. He sighed as he whispered words under his breath, and winced, his mind was blank as he attempted to recall anything.
"Can I at least....get names..." Ink said quietly as he looked up at the monk slightly, his eyes softer and desperate. "It would help to know your names." He said uncertain of what to do as he stared back at the floor, moving his feet along the cold stone as he moved away from everyone. Ink needed answers and if anything perhaps someone could give him answers or he could find them himself. "And I guess I can trust you enough to help me out of here...." He said with as he winced, he was inwardly scared of the people here though he pushed himself not to show it.

Pyrrha relaxed, seeing he was willing to cooperate with them. "I'm Pyrrha Athanasius Pyrrhus. If it helps, I have no idea why I'm even here.."she trailed off, staring at the cavern walls in confusion. She smiled a comforting smile to Ink for a second before she thought hard as to why she was there.
"I'm Alemine. Alemine Solas. Nice to meet you, Mr. Ink," Alemine mumbled shyly, suddenly feeling too exposed. She came to stand a half step behind Pyrrha. And she didn't know why she was here; she was just following Pyrrha. Were they looking for Iona again? She'd never know. Mentally saing to herself she'd sneak just one glance at Icylius, she looked up at him and stared longer than she would have wanted. She glanced away, suddenly finding the floor very interesting.

Max tilted his head and smiled at the boy, "I'm Maximus! Say, how old are you? We should play sometime," he offered.
Icylius had a horrified look on his face as he stared quitely at the ground, he didn't like being here. He raised his head to get a good look at the boy who had been so horribly tortured but his eyes suddenly drifted to Alemine. Icylius's heartrate sped up to about a thousand beats per minute as he realized she was looking at him as well. His eyes immediately looked away, hoping she didn't notice he casually stared back at the ground.

"My name is Azrael Siskin." Azrael said to Ink. He bowed his head slightly and then looked back at Ink.

"My age?" Ink asked surprised at the other young boys exclamation, two number came to his mind and he instantly responded after his shock left. "I'm fourteen....I think. It sound about right." He replied before looking at the other three who had given their names, his gaze rested on each of them for but a second before he looked back up at the monk. "So...your name is Azrael. It's an interesting name, though I don't have much room to talk." The young boy said barely cracking a smile as his red eyes rested upon the Azrael.
"So....not to sound...too in a hurry. But, is there an exit nearby, cause the stench is killing me now." Ink said with a grimace as he pinched his nose shut as it finally registered the scent in the room, dead flesh having rotted for who knows how long lay upon the floor. "Clean air would be nice," He said before muttering to himself in afterthought as he looked down and noticed his clothing. "And something that is not rags." The child muttered a few words at his state of clothing and looked back up before saying another thing. "And take no offense, but even with your names it bothers me to be in a room with all of you." He said with a glare as he shook his head, and focused back on his situation.
