Coninuation of "Controlling the Beast"Location: Kokori Forest: Lost Woods Silence manifested in the room in the clinic. A legless Mike laid on the bed in a deep slumber and Garen leaned on the wall, lost in thought. The doctors had managed to stop the profuse bleeding from the stumps where Mike's legs were anchored. The nubs were wrapped in bandages on the ends (about halfway down the thigh). Mike's eyes had healed but vision was no longer in his point of view. Only black was the color Mike could see. The eyes themselves were intact but lost all color to them. Thin black lines outlined his iris and pupils, the white in his eyes had darkened to a whiteish grey, like diamonds. The patient opened his Diamond Eyes and departed from slumber. However, silence still remained thick in the atmosphere. The room was rather dim as well. Sunlight bounced off the curtains in the window, one candle was lit near the corner. Shadows stretched across the walls. Finally, the silence was broken when Garen asked, "How are you holding up?"Mike didn't say a word. He let out a mere sigh, letting Garen know he was still alive. He then buried himself in his mind, wondering how the hell he will be able to walk again. "Damn, that won't work," He thought rejecting an idea. He eventually gave up and finally said words by asking, "Help me out here Garen, I am not going to sit around for the rest of my life just because I don't have legs. I need an idea here." "You have the Kujaku. Can't you use it to fly?""I would, but the legs act as a stabilizer and balance one's self during flight. I'm afraid that without my legs, I'd be tumbling into everything," Mike explained. "I might as well just turn in my katanas and find a hut in the mountains and live in isolation until I die!" Mike exclaimed. Garen walked over to Mike and slapped him upside the head. "I didn't come here to listen to you gripe soldier. That's just bullshit you said there. I'm trying to help you but you have to give me a chance to think," Garen ordered. Mike sighed and slowly blinked, not that he could see anything anyway. "I'm sorry," He sighed in a near monotone voice. "I'm just pissed that I screwed up. I want to walk again. It's just that I'm having hard time thinking how the f-"Mike was interrupted mid-sentence by two acrobatic figures leaping through the window. "Allow us to help you," one of them said in a sinister tone. They both wore black cloaks and hoods that covered their faces. Garen brandished his short sword and swung at them. A useless action, both dodged away and one of them beat Mike over the head rendering the wounded soldier unconscious. "The target is secure." The kidnapper informed his partner. "Excellent, now we must leave. We have no time to bother with someone trying to play hero." The other mocked Garen. The mysterious men immediately leaped out the clinic window, into the bright daylight and sprinted through the street. Garen pursued, "Shit." He thought as he ran after them. He called out, "Stop! Criminal scum! Release him!" Guards tried to trip the criminals with their long spears, but the bastards merely hopped over them. Others tried to block their path. However, the sneaky felons ducked under the swords of the guards and then leaped onto the roofs of buildings. Garen remained at ground level and kept his eyes glued to the nappers. ""Dammit! I need more backup!"

Mathayus stood upon the rooftops that the two criminals were traveling. His katana was drawn and he stared them down with a sort of cold maliciousness. He said nothing as they approached him, a sort of homicidal persona radiated off of him. Mathayus had every intent on killing the two of them. After all, he had been tracking them for days, and now he finally had them. Neither were going to escape this time, their deaths were imminent. He knew they would use their heightened agility and speed to try and maneuver around him but not this time. Mathayus was ready for them both. As the thoughts of dispatching them filled his head something caught his eye. He noticed that one of them was carrying somebody. The man had no legs and seemed to be unconscious. Mathayus let out a sigh, he knew who the man was, but couldn't figure out why the men were capturing him. Oh well, this did not matter, Mathayus had only one thing on his mind, the death of those two men.

Eldrin walked through Kakariko Village, humming softly to himself. He carried a rope in his left hand, and a blue apple in his right. The apple (which he painted himself) was for Mike, a get well present. The rope was to tie up Garen so that he could steal Mike without interference. After much interrogation of many medical professionals on the treatment of Mike's injuries, Eldrin had determined them all useless and sworn to never use their services again.
Refusing to believe that there was no hope, Eldrin turned to mythology. Among the many old forgotten documents and folk tales stored within Hyrule Castle's libraries, he had discovered a solution. At least, the possibility of one. He had read an ancient story about a sailor who had lost his ship and his legs to pirates. The man had fallen into the sea, but he washed up a small desolate island. Upon awakening, he found that the nubs where his legs had been were healed, and a great spirit of the island was responsible. The spirit offered to restore the man's legs, but only if he could acquire three specially marked stones, and take them to the center of the island.
Eldrin had stopped reading there. After all, there was no need to continue. All they had to do was take Mike to this spirit and ask for the same deal with eyesight thrown in! Of course, he had no idea where this island was, or if the story was even true. Or how the story ended... But oh well, he'd deal with those problems when they arose.
He was just coming upon the clinic when he heard a commotion inside and looked up just in time to see two cloaked figures emerge from the clinic window and run down the street. Amused, he watched them making fools of the useless guards. Why were they always so incompetent? Then he noticed that the person they were carrying lacked legs. He smiled, that meant his day was about to get interesting!
Eldrin wrapped the rope around his waist and tied it, to prevent losing it. Then he sprinted after them, stealing a spear from one of the guards as he ran. Using the spear, he pole-vaulted onto the rooftops. As soon as he landed, he was nearly knocked off of the roof by a blur. He watched Mathayus in a daze, as the ninja sprinted across the rooftops. "Strange, what's up with all the crazies out lately?" He muttered. Knowing that his human speed couldn't match their's, he jumped off of the rooftop and landed on a horse. He slashed the tether that tied the horse to a fence post and kicked the beast into action. The horse whinnied wildly and galloped down the street after the kidnappers, slowing only long enough to allow Eldrin to snatch the spear out of the ground. They had greater versatility on the rooftops, but he had greater speed atop the horse.

Azrael silently walked from the entrance of the graveyard, he had completed his meditation and was heading back to Hyrule Field when the sound of yelling and hoofbeats snapped him out of his thoughts.
His red eyes gazed through the night sky and saw two figures dashing from the window of the medical center, one of them was carrying a figure with no legs.
"What do we have here..." Azrael whispered, he turned his head towards the sound of the hoofbeats and rolled out of the way.
He cursed under his breath and noticed a way he could climb onto the buildings, via a stack of crates.
The Desert Monk quickly climbed up the crates and onto the roof, to which he took off after the kidnappers with near inhumane speed.

The unknown felons sprinted across the rooftops and manuvered over the alleys between buildings. The torso that was Mike's body was slung over the shoulder of one of the nappers. Whoever they were, they knew a way to restore Mike's ability to move. However, it was quite obvious that these sneaky figures are no friend.
One of the felons looked back to check for any persuers, "I think we lost them, I don't see any-... Oh s***," He then noticed the desert monk tailing after them. "Faster! We have a stranger chasing us."
"So what?" The other asked.
"Take a look for yourself,"
The felon looked back and saw Azrael drawing near. "What? He's no ordinary Hylian," He shifted his view to his partner. "Jump to the rooftops on the opposite side of the street. When someone draws too close, we will hand off the target." The criminal explained.
"Hand off? The target is not a ball to be thrown around. We need him alive," The other objected.
"Our lord will not take failure lightly. The target will survive a fall like this. A broken bone will be repaired as easily as his legs. Now do as I say."
The felon sighed and agreed, but gave one warning, "Don't you f***ing miss." He took Mike and leapt over to the opposite rooftops.

Jaru was filling out handbills in his office of the potions shop when he heard shouts from outside.
"Garen?" Jaru put his quill down and rushed outside. His son ran right past the shop, Jaru took off as well. Despite his age, he cought up with his son. "What's happening?" He asked.
"Mike has been captured! The crooks took him straight from his bed, leapt out the window, and are atop the rooftops about to get away," Garen explained. As the kidnapper leapt over the street with Mike, Jaru placed a portal at the rooftops and one in front of him. He ran through the linked portals and joined the chase on the rooftops.

The expression on Mathayus' face never changed as the men made their way to him even faster. They seemed to be running from another person, and a closer look proved that he was no ordinary man, his speed was incredible. It seemed the two felons had not noticed he was in their path. Oh well, easier to take thier lives. Mathayus decided not to take action just yet, once the two men came closer they would definitely realize he was there. And once they did, it was all over. His right hand tightened on his katan to the point where his knuckles almost popped. The maliciousness in his eyes alone was enough to drive any opponent away, and as soon as they engaged in combat they would wish they never met him. The Mathayus the heroes of Hyrule met died in Ikana along with his wife, and now he was but an empty husk filled with nothing but the desire to make those who do evils will suffer without mercy. And both of these felons would soon feel his wrath.
(Okay, I know what you are thinking, and yeah, now that I have changed his personality I am gonna go and wrap up Reliving the Past, once I can think of something so mind bogglingly awesome that it turns Mathayus's brain into S**t. Or rather, he goes somewhat of a Noire Batman on everyone, haha, I will then wrap it up.)

As he rode, Eldrin pulled two sets of spikes from a small pouch on his belt. Barely even paying attention to his steed, the thief attached the spikes to the bottom of his buckled shoes. The spikes were fitted perfectly for his shoes, with one spike on the heel, three in a triangle closer to the toe, and a final (slightly larger) spike on the tip of the toe of his right shoe facing outward. The four bottom spikes provided traction, the spike on the tip provided an unfair advantage... Eldrin's favorite kind.
After attaching Avarice as well, Eldrin reclaimed the reigns and corrected his course, heading toward Azrael. Riding just ahead of the monk, Eldrin stood up on his saddle. He was careful to not step on the horse with his spikes, instead standing only on the saddle. Then with a burst of exertion, he jumped the gap between the horse and the building. He seemed to hang in the air momentarily, then he landed with a roll on the roof. He was instantly on his feet and sprinting after the two kidnappers. Of course, he was quick, but only by human standards. It wasn't long before Azrael passed him. "One day, you must teach your dear cousin to run like that!" He yelled after Azrael, laughing.
It wasn't long before he noticed Mathayus up ahead, seemingly waiting for them. His stomach wrenched as he remembered the tragic events that unfolded in Ikana. He dismissed his worries quickly. Mathayus was strong, he decided. He was trained to disregard his emotions... He would be fine.

Azrael's hands reached into his pouch and pulled out 8 kunai knives (one for each hand). He watched as Eldrin leapt onto the roof tops and grinned, The Monk put on another burst of speed and caught up to Eldrin...he misjudged the distance and dashed by the Thief. "One day, you must teach your dear cousin to run like that!" Eldrin had yelled over to Azrael.
"You learn how to run like this by wearing weights on your feet and running through the sand while being chased by starved dingos!!" Azrael yelled back, keeping hot on the 'nappers trail.

The criminals dashed across the buildings occasionally looking back to glance at the pursuers gaining on them. The two shifted their vision to each other, the felons being tailed by Azrael gave a hand signal. He ordered his partner to split off and take an alternate route. The partner (the one carrying Mike) nodded lightly and dropped from the roof of a building and into the dark alley, attempting to lose those who chased him.

(You know Mike I also wonder if you actually read my posts too, haha)
Mathayus shifted as the felon carrying Mike diverted into an alleyway on ground level. Unfortunately for him, he dropped right at the building Mathayus was standing on top of, and the bloodthirsty ninja dropped directly behind the escaping felon breaking out into an instantaneous sprint. He drug his blade across the side of the building as he chased after the man, producing sparks that bounced this way and that. Mathayus' gaze never wavered from its target, and never lost the sense of cold determination that drove his killing intent. With his incredulous speed he gained on him quickly, and it was only a matter of time before he destroyed him.

Rather than attempting to chase the felon holding Mike, Eldrin continued after the other. Seeing that he could not catch his target with pure speed, Eldrin broke off and jumped off onto adjacent rooftops. It seemed as if he had conceded and allowed the felon victory, but such was not the case. Eldrin quickly found himself a shorcut across the rooftops. It wasn't truly a shortcut, as he had no idea where they were going. It was actually simply a smoother path across the rooftops. While the felon was forced to dodge obstacles and make long jumps between buildings, Eldrin was able to break into a flat sprint, only interrupted by small leaps between buildings.
Before long, Eldrin was running across the third story of a building, watching the felon below him. As soon as he reached the edge of the building, Eldrin jumped down at the felon, mimicking the Assassin's assassination leap. He fell through the air straight at his target, swinging Avarice at the man's face.

The criminal's attempt to lure Mike's friends away had seemed to work, a little too well. The felon had no idea whatsoever that the thief was diving at him like an eagle. The felon stopped dead in his tracks as the claws slashed across his face. Thin streaks of blood ran down his cheek.
As for the other criminal, the one that had acquired his target, he was perhaps more cautious. He looked back often, maybe too often, at Mathayus. He was gaining quickly, and the felon knew if he stopped, Mathayus would cut him in half vertically.
Too bad that the criminal ran into something while sprinting. He should have paid more attention to the fist he just ran face first into. Garen had just ported right in the felons path. As soon as the criminal ran into his fist he immediately grabbed him by the collar of the cloak. The felon dropped Mike after the abrupt stop, he fell to the ground lightly, still unconscious.
Garen lifted the felon off the ground and said, "It's okay, I won't kill you." He turned the felon's body to face Mathayus, who was still tearing ass toward them. "But he will."

Azrael put on a burst of speed and followed Eldrin off the roof onto the felon carrying Mike. He landed on the other side of Eldrin and sprinted after, placing the kunai back in favor of his blade, The Desert Ghost, The Desert Monk leapt over Eldrin as he saw the felon was captured by Garen.
Azrael landed and pointed his blade at the felon.

The felon's eyes relayed no fear, anger, or any other emotion. He was not intimidated by any of the heroes. Not by the Desert Monk, not by the Theif, not even by the bloodthirsty ninja. He merely galred at Azrael and said,
"If you believe that I will tell you anything, you're dead wrong."
"Oh yes you will. Otherwise, I will whet my blade on your entrails and continue to cut you... slowly. It will be painful." Garen threatened with a bit of anger in his voice.
"Does it matter?" The bandit asked. "If I fail, I will die anyway. I do not fear death."
"That may be true, but if you die when you fail, what's going to kill you?"
"Either you or my master," The henchman replied.
"So you have a master huh? Well that is not suprising at all. Nobody would dare capture Mike without pay. And especially when I am nearby," Garen said.
The bandit chuckled, "Is that another threat? You've already captured me. I do not see wasting any more time babbling at me. Go. Sink your blade into my neck, now, do it you pu***!" The criminal mocked Azrael. "And by the way, I have a partner, remember?"
"What?!" Garen peered down at the spot where Mike was dropped. He was gone!
"Garen!" Jaru called from the rooftop. "The kidnapper has Mike! He is getting close to the gate!"
"Why you dirty son of a bitch," Garen growled. He turned custody of the henchman over to Eldrin. "Find out what he knows." He ordered. Garen took off sprinting, taking a little shortcut through the town in an attempt to catch the criminal who captured Mike.

"You may not fear Death.." Azrael whispered to the felon, his voice seemed to speak with the voices of thousands. They echoed from his tongue and he said "But, I have the power to make your afterlife very...very...very horrible."
----------------------------------------------
Torak silently watched from the guard tower that sat in the middle of the village. He sighed as he watched the other felon snatch Mike up and run off with him.
"Fools.." He silently whispered and leapt from his spot and gave chase to the other felon, careful to keep to the shadows to give himself the element of suprise.
