With a canopy of trees separating her from the starry night most of the time except for where there were gaps in the leaves, Thell was totally surrounded by her area of expertise. The woods.
Because she hated fire so, Thell had invested in a charmed slab of rock after nearly being burned to death. The rock would become very hot once she said the right words, and she would be able to cook meat, stew, or anything else over or on it if she desired. At the moment, the rock, called a Kirchrein, was heating a slab of meat. She licked her lips in anticipation. Unfortunately, unlike a fire, the rock didn't glow, so Thell was forced to purchase a different charmed stone in a perfect spherical shape that lit up with a powerful yellow glow once the correct words were spoken. At the moment, that rock - called a Lanrintun - was also in use so she could observe the finer details of her current project. Several logs lay beside her, cut down and shaped with Thell's own dual-bladed axe, Amaya. She currently held one in her scarred right hand as her left hand held her whittling knife, George, at an angle to begin carving the head for a small wooden wolf. She had been curious to see if she could use it as a scent hound of sorts, and decided there'd be no better way to test it than by making one.
Thellaris suddenly felt a sting travel out through a web of overly-sensitive nerves being speedily spun by a skilled spider of pain. Something had just touched her right arm, and her brain wasn't going to let her forget it. Her head moved slowly, not wanting to trigger more pain from the scar that extended to her neck and face. "Vandir... That wasn't very nice. And it hurt," she growled to the wooden mythical creature, whose eye sockets glowed with green eyeballs produced by her green threads of magic. He slithered gingerly around her and then up her left, unharmed arm to grace her shoulders and eye her work, and she briefly eyed the green threads of magic that passed through every part of Vandir's body, visibly showing how he was held together like beads threaded onto a piece of thread to form a necklace.
"You're actually complaining? What if word got out you were getting soft," Vandir teased.
"I'm not getting soft. I'm hungry, and this meat is super thick... and so tasty looking..." Thell complained, licking her lips again before she could start drooling. "What did you want, anyway, Vandir?" she asked.
"Just thought I'd point out that there's a thief who has noticed your glowing rock and is coming to investigate," he informed her, sliding off of her as he foresaw exactly what she would do. Grumbling, she set down her almost-finished wolf head and picked up her battle axe, Lumin.
Rolling the beloved weapon in her hand, she set the glowing rock beside her slowly cooking dinner so she could keep an eye on it and bathe most of the clearing in light. "On an empty stomach and everything. Ugh! Stupid thieves. Stupid food. Stupid, stupid, stupid." Still grumbling, she allowed her voice to drop in volume, knowing that she had left her pack on the log that she was using as a stool. Vandir had gone to hide in the pack, and after a few minutes of angrily pacing, going even ten feet away from her tiny, sorry-excuse of a camp, Thell heard what she'd been waiting to here. An exclamation of surprise and a subtle curse. True, the person was still talking very softly, but she liked to think she had sensitive hearing in her undamaged ear, and so she caught it. She turned around, the light of the rock catching off the horrid scar that stretched across most of the right half of her face. Vandir had his wooden teeth digging into the flesh of the man's hand. "Caught red-handed," she joked, noting the blood seeping from his hand. Though it was a joke, she sounded very pissed of, and likely with good reason. The thief's hand was wrapped around her purse. He attempted to shake off the wooden dragon and flee at the same time. But she wasn't having it. She lunged, and the butt of her axe collided with his back, causing him to stumble foreword. Vandir let go to get out of the fight, and the man drew out a knife and jabbed at her ribs sideways, but he was messing with the wrong girl. Any other day she would've been happy, but right now she was hungry. Catching the knife with the curved blade of her axe, she twisted, and it fell to the dirt. Pleased, she followed the knife's path, but instead drove the spike of the axe into the thief's left foot before ramming her knee into his groin. "Inexperienced too. Get out of my sight and find a healer. My money is worth a decent fight, so come back when you can give me one," she offered with a frown, shoving him into the darkness. The young man, probably a couple years younger than her, seemed confused and horrified, but ran off all the same.

Silently, a white, almost spectral figure had been watching the young girl sitting all by herself in the center of the woods, sitting next to a huge slab of meat that was sitting atop of rock. He would have easily thought this girl was delusional if it wasn't for the fact that he could hear the meat sizzling as if it were on a stove. In the golden glow of her second enchanted rock, it seemed that she was widdling away at a piece of wood when suddenly, some. . . wooden creature came up to her. After a brief exchange of words, the girl shot up from her seat.
"On an empty stomach and everything. Ugh! Stupid thieves. Stupid food. Stupid, stupid, stupid." she trailed off, picking up an ax while moving the glowing stone right next to her enchanted granite stove. Just as she begin to leave, the ‘white fox’ Sappho noticed a shadow moving among the trees, watching the girl walk away from her encampment before boldly slinking up to her pack that had laid open next to the fallen log and tried to snatch it up to run.
However, the man was too foolish and focused on the young lass to not notice that the cursed wooden creature hid inside the pack, waiting to strike. The young sea dragon shifted from his spot in the trees, watching the girl fighting the thief in case it needed his intervention. But the girl was no damsel in distressed, she was a skillful fighter as she quickly blocked the thief’s dagger, disarmed him, and stabbed her weapon right through his foot. Although he had to admit, Sappho did flinched when the thief’s vital organ was bashed brutally in by his ‘victim’s’ knee. Once the man had pitifully stumbled out of the clearing, the sea dragon quietly had picked his pathway down from the tree limb before finally landing on solid ground.
"Well, it seems that you showed him who wasn't an easy target to get picked on." Sappho remarked, tilting his head to the side as he examined her, Mentally he frowned, from the perch in the tree, he didn't see that such horrid scars had covered, literally, half her body. Poor girl, what had happen that could have caused this damage to her?

"My, my, you're quite popular." A voice called from Thell's campsite. "Your meat is nearly done by the way, don't worry, it's all yours. I already have something for myself." A wet tearing sound was heard as the owner of the voice took a bite out of a raw rabbit. "We're not here to hurt you, well I'm not. Not so sure about him."

The White fox frown as he heard a voice from the campsite. "Your meat is nearly done by the way, don't worry, it's all yours. I already have something for myself." With that, there came the sickening sound of once lithe muscles being ripped from the bloody carcass of a caught rabbit. Thinking about tasting the overwhelming flavor of blood pouring off his tongue, Sappho almost heaved but managed to hold his composure as the voice continued on. "We're not here to hurt you," Suddenly the voice paused before quickly adding in his disclaimer. "Well I'm not. Not so sure about him."
"Excuse me, but are you trying to insinuate that I'm here to rob her blind or fight her?" Sappho scoffed, tilting his head back to eye where the voice was coming from. He still had the girl in his peripheral vision though in case she does decide to attack him though.

"You can be never be too careful." The voice said. "Name's Blade, by the way. Never had a "real" name, so don't ask." Blade said. He bit once again into the rabbit, cursing this time. "Agh, Din! Stupid bones. If the moon were out, I'd bite right through ya."

A wolf ran through the forest. It leapt over fallen trees and rocks scattered about the path. If one were to see this wolf... they would be confused as to why it wasn't with it's pack and why there was a golden fairy following it. The wolf stopped for a moment and sniffed around when a noise made it's ears flicker and the wolf turned in the direction of the noise.
The form of a white rabbit hopped out of the bushes and the wolf seemed to grin as it got into a pouncing position and was about to leap at the rabbit when a new smell infiltrated his nostrils. It sat up and tried to find the source of the smell.
"That smells like... cooking meat... so... it looks like we're not the only ones out here. And three other smells... two of them are familiar... but the third."it turned towards the direction of the smell, leaving the rabbit to hop away.
It took the wolf a while to find the source, but when it did, it hid in the nearest bush to watch. The fairy followed suit.

Thell hadn't realized that she'd had an audience to her pathetic confrontation with the thief. From the voice's comment, his intentions weren't clear, but her axe was in hand, so there was no issue. Though he had been much more discreet about his position, meaning he was probably better at fighting that the pathetic thief had attempted to take her money. Thell would have to tease Vandir about letting the mystery figure, who was working his way out of the tree, get past his scouting.
As it was, Vandir had some explaining to do, because at that moment there was a second voice, though a body didn't accompany this one just yet. The first voice had revealed a man like a few years younger than her with long blonde hair braided down his back. The second voice was only paired with darkness as it informed her that her meat was almost done cooking, and that he wasn't there to harm her. Okay, so one stranger wasn't going to attempt to harm her, but the voice made no guarantee for the blonde man with his partial mask. The young man seemed offended by this proposal that he was indeed there to harm or rob her, but Thell was proud to say most of her focus had been stolen by her meat. The body-less voice had been right. It was almost done, and almost was enough for her. As she walked over to the stone heating her dinner she made no effort to try to see the young man considering she only had one eye. She did decide to listen though, trying to see if she could remember what the young man had said mere seconds ago. Then the voice introduced himself as Blade, and then said something about bones. That reminded her. Hungry. Food.
She muttered a word to the stone, and it instantly cooled. The meat still sizzled as she picked up the stone and set down her battle axe. "Vandir, you know I didn't realize you sucked so much at security. That's, what... two people you didn't warn me about, but you warn me about some stupid thief?" Thell asked the wooden dragon as he returned to her, dragging her pack in his teeth. Unlike her, he had two eyes, so he kept one on the young man as he gave her the bag that held her fork for eating.
"They're actually skilled at hiding. Not my fault," Vandir said quickly, turning around to look curiously at the newcomer.
Retrieving her fork, Thell situated herself on her log seat so that she was facing the man and her left eye could look at him clearly. Then she put the stone on her lap and withdrew her knife before ravenously cutting away at the meat and sloppily chewing large chunks so she could swallow as fast as possible. Going on an empty stomach was never an option for Thell. "So, as I'm so popular and all, might as well introduce myself. I'm Thell," she began between hasty swallows of meat. "And if mystery voice is Blade - thanks for reminding me about the food, by the way - than that makes you, man with the body...?" Thell glanced up at said guy for an answer as she put the last piece of meat into her mouth. She probably wasn't supposed to consume that much in such a short amount of time, but she always did anyway, otherwise providing Vindir's life-force would've knocked her unconscious several times.

"Yes, my apoligies," the sea dragon spoke, giving Thell a slight bow even though she had begun to viciously attack the steak like a ravid animal. "I simply go by the name of Sappho. . . I'm sure your watch guard was unable to detect me because I had been here in the forest quite a long time before you have arrived. As for Blade, I'm quite sure he was here as well."

Sappho. So that was the young man's name. He explained Vandir probably would not have detected either newcomer simply because they had been there a long time, but that didn't mean it was okay. Perhaps the wolf she was carving would become more useful than she originally thought.
"You see? They probably weren't even moving! And you know I'm looking for people moving towards you," Vandir explained, going along with Sappho's explanation just so he wouldn't come off as incompetent when it came to his job.
Thell rolled her eyes, swallowing the last bit of steak before saying, "He said he was already in the forest. Not that he wasn't moving. And that idiot thief was already in the forest too. But seeing as I've known you forever, I forgive you... possibly," she said as she then reached into her pack and pulled out an apple. The tavern owner's wife always insisted on Thell eating something healthy with each meal, though Thell rarely admitted she'd taken the advice to heart.
"You're just being stubborn. You hold nothing against me," Vandir pointed out.
After swallowing a bit of the red fruit, Thell shrugged and set aside the rock she had been eating off of, as well as her knife and fork. Apple in hand, she stood. "So why am I even talking to you two? What's the point of introducing yourself?" Thell asked, wanting to get to the point of their sudden appearance as she crouched down to pick up the wooden wolf head she had left on the ground when the thief had entered the picture.

"You're a newcomer cooking meat on one rock, and lighting your way with another." Blade explained. "I'm here wondering why you don't simply use fire." He took a moment to dig around in the rabbit's chest. "Ah." He sighed happily. "I love the hearts." He said before flicking it into his mouth.

Thell took a huge bite of the apple as Blade explained, and she finished chewing and swallowing it as he remarked about how he loved the hearts. She could only guess he was talking about whatever food he was eating, which must be raw meat if the heart was there.
Still, he had basically asked about her fire-free survival. Thell took another quick bite of her apple and swallowed it swiftly before turning towards the direction of Blade's voice, allowing her right side to be closer than her left so that, if Blade had eyes at all, he would be able to see the scars that covered her arm, bare side, leg and right half of her face. Pocketing the wolf-head so she could pick up the stone that glowed, Thell allowed the stone's magic light to fall on her body. "Fire has not been good to me, so I'm avoiding giving it that chance again. Burn me once, shame on me. But anytime after that and I will find a way to kill you and your fire," Thell explained, allowing the stone to escape her grip and fall to the ground once more. She took yet another bite of her apple, finishing it off this time, and said with her mouth full of the fruit's remains, "The goal is to not associate myself with fire until I... take care of some business." It was a little vague, and not at all by accident. Thell liked being vague, building up to a moment of hatred or violence. it was sort of a small enjoyment of hers, to see people arch their eyebrows and then make a face at how much hate she held for the... business she had to take care of.
Valdir snatched the apple core from Thell and began to chew on it, knowing Thell was enjoying herself despite the dark topic.

"Uh huh. In that case, I have some advice: You ever meet a man named Eldrin or Faro, walk away. Pyromancers, both of 'em." Blade told her as he watched the wood construct snatch away the apple core. "Other than that, simply avoid dragons and you'll be fine."

"And don't rty to attack a boy name Lien. . . I fear that you will not escape with your life if you dare try to face him," Sappho added in, trying not to think about Blade eating away at the lagomorph's heart. "In fact, I think almost everyone in Hyrule that I know of are pyromaniacs. . . but then again I haven't been here for long."

Thell was slightly disappointed that they weren't acting curious to know about the mysterious business she had, but it really didn't matter. Straight forward was more her style anyway, as Vandir always told her, even if being vague was more fun. Besides, they were listing off people with fire power, and that intrigued her. Not to mention the three they mentioned were males. "It wouldn't matter if I escaped with my life or not as long as it was the right guy. I'm looking for one in particular, but I don't know if he controls fire, or just uses it. All I know is that I want to kill him," Thell answered, hatred in her eyes as she drew out her wooden wolf head and set to finishing it once more with her whittling knife. But despite her scowl and narrowed eyes that were not narrowed from concentration, her hand movements were quick and smooth. The hatred couldn't affect her whittling. There was no way.
"But I also know he smelled of rotting flesh and smoke. I don't know why I didn't question that particular aroma when I first met him, but it makes sense now. So, hopefully I can make myself a little canine to track the scent for me." With that, Thell finished shaping the last ear of the wolf's head, and she quickly used the blade of her whittling knife to make a hole at the bottom of the head. Then she reached into her pack and began to pull out the other pieces she had already created. Four paws, a tail, backside, neck, and all the joints for the legs to work.

"Rotting flesh or burning flesh?" Blade asked, picking off the last few morsels of meat from the rabbit's ribcage and thighs. "As someone with a hound's nose, let me tell you that those smells are very different." He said informatively, tossing the half-eaten carcass aside.
