Young Maximus journeyed into the peaceful yet somber Kakariko Graveyard. He trudged through the silence taking in the sweet serenity with a bright smile on his face. Glancing around, Max realized the graveyard was rather beautiful considering its true purpose. Multilpe headstones were encumbered by large amounts of emerald green moss, nearly besieging the grey stone. Flowers were nearly omnipresent, whether they were left on tombs by loved ones or just naturally growing. The vibrancy of the various colors exaggerated the tranquility and ostensible beauty that enveloped the cemetary. It was unlike anything Max had ever seen before, it was literally picture perfect. Above him were an array of subtle reds, yellows, and oranges painted across the sky and clouds from the passing sun. Maximus breathed in heavily through his nose, sucking in the sweet scent of the flowers that the wind lazily carried through the air. If it wasn't for urgent business Max would have decided to stay a while.
Not far off Max saw who he was looking for. Maria, Argoth's former informant and temporal lover, was standing in the center of the graveyard in an elegantly red sparkly dress with rather ostentatious pearl earrings. Makeup accentuated her allure to the point where any man in Hyrule would ogle at her while drooling all over himself. Her auburn hair was pulled up into a neat bun that exposed a matching pearl necklace. Max sauntered up to her, greeting her with his friendliest smile yet. "Hi Maria, how have you been?" he asked politely. Maria smiled back at the child, slightly giggling, his constant happiness was contagious. Then she noticed his condition and her smile faded. "I'm marvelous sweety, but...what happened to you?" She inquired, concerned. Max was still a litte beat up from his last encounter with Syrus and he had various cuts and bruises that riddled his body. "I'm fine Maria, really, it was just another run in with that bastard Syrus. I'm okay though." The skin between Maria's brow furrowed in a slight burst of anger, "That man is horrible...someday he'll get what's coming to him for messing with an innocent boy!" "Calm down Maria, he isn't going to be hurting me anymore. I can take care of myself now," Maria shifted her posture and Max smiled up at her agian, "Anyway, did you find anything out about them?" "I didn't find out much Max, sorry, but I do have heard some pretty convincing rumors as to where their hideout is." Max looked at her eagerly, "Where is it?" Maria frowned at the boy, she knew he was an Assassin of Hyrule but he was also just a child. And what she was about to reveal to him would be extremely dangerous. Not to mention the people he was trying to go after. "Are you sure you want to do this Max? These people are dangerous, I know you are well trained and can look after yourself, but this might be too much for you. If you were to be captured by these people they would'nt show you any mercy. I'm not sure I can help you if it could be responsible for your death.." her voice soudned frightened, concerned not only for the boy, but for herself as well. "It took me a while to get what you asked for little Max, and it wasn't the least bit easy. I'm not sure you should be taking such big contracts on your own." The boy assassin simply smiled at her even more, "Maria, I can do this, I promise. I know that with what Argoth has taught me I can take down these people. I really need your help here. I won't be doing this on my own either, this job is way too big. Perhaps I'll ask Blade or Torak to come with me." He told her this out of pure comfort, he had every intention to complete this on his own.
Maria frowned in hesitation but finally decided to deliver the information. She leaned forward slightly as if someone would hear, "These guys are bad news Max...from what I gathered they have an operation that runs throughout all of Hyrule, a black market type deal. Human trafficking, deadly magical weapons, necromancy, you name it, they supply it. This isn't some amatuer group of inept bandits kid, these are skilled smugglers with connections everywhere. They're quick, strong, and above all else, deadly to anything that stand in their way." "Well then they need to be shut down...and I'll be the one to do it." An expression of determination set into his face as he said the last part. "Where are they?"
Maria looked around as if someone might catch her stealing something, "It's only a theory...but from my various contacts they say that their hideout is located..." she paused for a moment of drama, "On the moon."

Eldrin walked down a street in Kakariko, he had no place to be and no reason to be there. One never felt so lonely until they woke up in a gutter with a killer hangover and no one to talk too loudly. It seemed like ages since he had seen any of his friends, maybe it had been... What could they be up to? Usually it was about now that somebody charged past him, beckoning him to join in a fun little chase. Or else they'd all be gathering to fight off a coming fight. Yet, there was nothing...
The thief wore his usual outfit, each article of which seemed to have been fine clothing at some point, but was now worn and frayed. A white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a small scarlet patch on the right shoulder. Over this, a small sleeveless mahogany brown vest with a pin in the shape of a Triforce where a chest pocket should have been. His shirt was tucked into black breeches that fastened with little leather belts just below the knees. The breeches would have been socially acceptible if worn with stockings, but Eldrin would have nothing to do with them. Instead, his shins were left bare. His buckled shoes matched his belt, both being brown leather with brass buckles. As a sign of his heritage, he wore a simple black cloth tied around his left bicep with the All Seeing Eye of the Sheikah in bright red on it.
His stolen cutlass hung from his belt on the right side, loosely tied there by a rope. It was a simple blade made of steel with a tattered leather-wrapped handle. A small brass basket hilt protected from blows to the hand. An eagle feather hung by a chain from the hilt, serving no purpose but as an accessory. The fingerless gauntlet, Avarice was worn on his left hand. The curved blades over his knuckles like claws of steel. As usual, the thief had coated them with a heavy sedative to aid in their nonlethal effectiveness. After all, they were originally meant to strike at vital areas for quick kills, but the thief was not so violent. Before him they had belong to the mother of Nabooru, and later a mute Gerudo named Ranim.
On a random impulse, he decided to explore the graveyard. He generally avoided that area, seeing as most of the folks who hung around there were dead. But today he felt strangely invincible. Let hordes of zombies come for him! He could take them... Or maybe not.
Still though, maybe Azrael was meditating there or something. He hadn't disturbed his cousin's meditation in forever. Eldrin drifted through the graveyard like a ghost himself. When a shimmer of red caught his eye, the thief melted into the shadows.
"The moon, you say?" Eldrin asked, standing next to Maximus suddenly. "And how exactly are we supposed to get up there?!" He inquired the pretty woman incredulously. He was speaking as if he had been there the entire time. "I'll admit, you're good Maxy. But that's insane! Last time I checked you couldn't fly..."

A large bright smile immediately spread across his fade as he heard the thief's voice, "Eldrin!" he yelled delightedly. The young boy turned and tackled his friend to the ground, wrestling him into a headlock, "Haha, got ya!" He wreslted Eldrin some more, the two of them going at it as hard as they could. Well, only Max was really, Eldrin simply played along. Once Max had finished he looked over at Maria who was giggling at their adorable show of friendship. "So," he began, panting, "How do we get to the moon?" Maria shrugged, "I cant help you there Max. You're gonna have to find that out on your own. However there is one thing I forgot to mention...there seems to be another rumor about this moon hideout. They say that something horrible goes on up there, but no one has been there to find out.." just as she finished Max heard the horrifying sound of a projectile slamming into flesh. "No!" he screamed. An arrow had imbedded iteslf into Maria's gut and as he screamed the word he could see the absolute fear that was expressed on her face.
Blood began to stain her already red dress and her legs gave way from under her. Max caught what he could of her as she fellnsince she was so much bigger than him. However, his strength pulled through for him. "Hold on Maria, we're gonna get you some help!" another arrow whizzed by Max's head, someone was trying to eliminate them. "Eldrin! Get her to safety, to anyone that can heal her, I cant carry her."
Everything seemed to be happening all at once and Max almost went into panic mode. But his training forced him to keep his composure. Another arrow whistled through the air and straight for Max, but this time he saw it coming and had enough time to move his head out of the way. And what's more, he found the shooter. "Take her Eldrin! Hurry!" he urged. The last thing he wanted was for her to die. Maria was staying as calm as she could, ngently breathing in and out in pained breaths. "Well...looks they found me.." she said, her voice shakey and wavering.
"I'm going to get answers," he growled, standing up and withdrawing a dagger from his belt. He sliced an arrow out of the air as he said,"I'll meet up with you later," and took off in the direction of the shooter.

With a grunt, Eldrin scooped Maria into his arms. He held her carefully, in the hope that he wouldn't cause any more pain. An arrow whizzed past his head, barely missing. He stared at Maximus for a moment, hesitant to leave the boy alone, but the warm trickle of Maria's blood running down his arm told him that he had no choice. "Listen, brat! Don't go getting yourself killed, I wouldn't be doing right by Argoth's memory if I let anything happened to you." He barked, more forceful than he had meant to be. He turned just as another arrow snapped against a nearby tombstone, and ran toward the gate.
Maria wasn't all that heavy, but it was nonetheless difficult to run carrying her. He ran through the gate and down the street, more trotting than running to avoid causing Maria any more injury. "Don't you worry for a second, darling. I'll have you patched up in a second!" He commented to Maria, giving her a reassuring wink. His confident voice masked the panic that his pounding heart betrayed. He found the streets of Kakariko Village to be strangely desolate. He didn't pass a single soul that could help them. Before he knew it, the thief was standing in front of Jaru's shop, panting heavily. Without even considering what he was doing, Eldrin landed a solid kick to the front door. With a cracking sound the door flew open, swinging wildly on the hinges.
Inside the shop, Eldrin swept a table clear, sending everything crashing to the floor. As gently as he knew how, the thief set the woman down. "Hold on just a little bit longer," He begged her, no longer hiding his fear. His own clothes were drenched in Maria's blood, and he knew she probably couldn't afford to lose much more. He had to act fast, but first he had to know what he was going to do.

Maria attempted a smile at the panicking thief, "Its okay Eldrin..go help the boy," her breathing became even more shallow as she spoke and her voice was nearly inaudible, "There isn't...much hope...for me." she finished. Her blood was dangerously low, if she kept bleeding like this she would be dead in a matter of minutes. Just then a man rushed into the potion shop looking as panicked as Eldrin was. "I think I can help you," he stammered, "I saw you rush in here with the wounded woman, I'm a surgeon in Hyrule castle."
Maximus sprinted in the direction of the attacker while evading a multitude of arrows. The man responsible for shooting Maria sat perched atop a building just on the other side of the graveyard. As the young assassin approached the fence of the ossuary he jumped, kicking off and flipping onto the building. By the time he landed the archer already had a short sword drawn and was lunging toward him. The blade left a thin cut across Max's right cheek as he dodged a little too late. Max withdrew a dagger from his belt and swatted the man's blade away. As he stood to face the archer he realized that there were several more on the building, I didn't expect there to be more! he thought, panic spreading through him like sickness. The first man grinned as he noticed Max's rising fear. "Scared, boy? Didn't. Think there would be more of us is here did you? Well Im afraid we cant let you leave here alive."
Max narrowed his eyes at them, they purposely lured me out here alone..I need to get out of here, and quick. Max immediately bolted in the opposite direction, he knew he couldn't take all of these guys at the same time. However, as he turned around he smashed into something solid; another one of the archer's friends. Max now concluded that there was only one plan of action left; fight for your life. As the man tried to grab him he sliced his hand off at the wrist and jabbed the knife into his inner thigh. A scream of agony escaped his lips and Max turned to his next attacker as his previous victim fell to the ground; his screams still echoing through the air. Max had made sure that he inflicted just enough pain to incapacitate him without ending his life. The initial archer stepped up to him with incredible speed slashing at him in an attempt to remove his head. Max moved his dagger up to block the swing but it was too powerful. The archer's short sword continued on its way to his throat, but when Max was expecting to die the point of contact suddenly hardened into a metal like substance, deflecting the blade with ease.
Without hesitation Max dived through the archer's legs and whipped his blade in a horizontal arc behind him, severing the man's hamstring's. A horrified cry of pain bellowed out from him and he collapsed onto the ground. Once he was down Max had a second to think. How did his body Morph without his command? He swore off using his shapeshifting abilities? So what was it?
It was me, a voice growled in his head.
Max recognized the voice but wasn't pleased at all about it, What the hell do you want?
I just saved your life, kid. Be grateful.
I don't need your help, I know what you're up to... Max never had the chance to finish the thought because in the midst of his conversation with his demon a heavy boot smashed into his face. He skid backward and into another assailant, who promptly picked him up, pinning his arms behind his back. The rest of the group strolled casually over to him; most of them chuckling at his capture. "You're gonna get it now, kid." one of them said, punching Max in the gut. Another punched him in the face while another hit him in the ribs. They began to mercilessly beat Max to death with their bare hands. However before they all could even get a second punch in a very menacing voice challenged them from behind, "Put the boy down."
The surgeon strolled over to the table where Maria and Eldrin were, "Go get me a pot of warm water," he demanded. He withdrew a small kit from his belt to make it look like he was doing something. As Eldrin left to retrieve the water the man's true intentions slinked out from behind his guise. He withdrew a knife from a concealed sheath and raised it above Maria's body. Maria tried to scream for Eldrin but the man covered her mouth with his other hand. "Die." he whispered.
Just before the the knife ended Maria's life the body of one of the man's bretheren burst through a nearby window and smashed into him. The impact threw the pseudo-surgeon ten feet in the opposite direction along with the body. Suddenly the next thing Maria knew another man had entered the building, although this one was younger and had gorgeous emerald green eyes. A large cut gushed blood down over his left eye and he looked rather fatigued. Before the teen could even take a breather two more hostiles chased in after him. Each brandished a rather large sword, however this would do no good against the weary teenager. An unseen force slammed into the two men like a freight train, sending them into the wall like cannon balls. Niether got back up again.
Icylius was breathing heavily now, "What the hell is going on here.." he breathed. Just then he noticed the bleeding woman on the far table. She did not look good at all. He had to so something, he already knew the situation. Icylius walked over to her and said, "I'm going to stop the bleeding." Maria nodded, barely able to retain consciousness. Icylius focused as best he could on the wound, creating a psychokinetic seal that immediately controlled the blood flow. Once he stopped the bleeding Maria slipped away into the unconscious. After the the woman was patched up Icylius needed a way to remove the arrow but could think if none. He pondered furiously, thinking of anything that could possibly help him.
In a burst of glass and sound Icylius witnessed even more of the men that were chasing him enter the potion shop from everywhere. All the windows shattered inward as bodies crashed through them, and even more of them filed in through the door. "Shit.. he breathed. If Icylius lost focus at any time Maria would bleed to death.

In all the store, there had been only one window that hadn't been broken by the invaders. Of course, the potential for a dramatic entrance through this window was incredible. Eldrin could by no means resist such an opportunity. The thief burst through this window, swinging by the edge of the roof. He landed on top of one of Icylius's attackers, his legs around the man's neck. He tossed three of his marble sized bombs across the room. Snatching ahold of a second man's shoulder, he swung around and whipped the first man into three others. Using his momentum, the thief brought the second man to the ground in a heap. Eldrin stood up and dusted himself off. "Um... So I was going to go get water... Then I remembered that I mugged the head surgeon if Hyrule Castle last week. Looked nothing like that guy..."
Several other men ran toward Icylius, but Eldrin snapped his fingers in their direction just as the bomb's fuses ran out. The shop was ripped apart in a massive explosion that took out the west wall as well as about half of the attackers. Eldrin uppercutted one of the surviving men, and kicked another into oblivion. Just then, a man came upon Icylius, blade raised high in the air. Eldrin's throwing knife spun through the air and struck him between the eyes. The man fell backward, dead. Another two men ran at Eldrin. The thief dropped one with a swift roundhouse kick, but the other ducked. The man lunged in with a dagger. Eldrin caught his weapon-hand and swung his own dagger, only to have it caught as well. For a moment, the two were caught in a fierce grapple. That was until Eldrin remembered an important fact. He was a thief. He had no standards and no honor. The thief put all of his might into one leg as he savagely kneed the man in the groin. In the man's second of distraction, Eldrin ducked under him and flipped his opponent over his back. The man slammed to the ground and ceased to move. With a satisfied smirk, the thief sheathed his dagger.
Eldrin felt relief when he noticed that Maria's wounds were closed. "Nice job, Icylius. You sure school me as far as medical junk... But what do we do about that?" He asked, pointing at the arrow. He scratched his head cluelessly.

Kadina sat on the cold cobble stone pavement that layered the ground within the windmill. Her back against the wall, her knees pulled up to her chest, and her dark arms wrapped around them firmly and securely for comfort, she let out a sigh barely audible over the groaning of the windmill's old turning mechanism before burying her head in her arms. With her eyes shut and her body relaxed, she focused on regulating her breathing. Her heart beat was spastic, but it was there none the less and she was thankful.
As she sat there in her own embrace, she could feel a surge of energy coursing inside of her. Ugh... is this ever going to cease? Kadina clenched her arms in frustration and the energy accumulated where her circulation had been cut off by her grip. She felt static build up within the walls of her skin, and when she could no longer take the discomfort, she released. Tiny sizzling sparks flickered from her finger tips and shocked her both literally and metaphorically. She yelped in surprise as her eyes shot open, and she emerged from her fetal cacoon. Her hair stood on end from the charge. Her blue-grey eyes stared gloomily as pieces of it fell in her face. She blew a strand away from her mouth as she slumped backward, her legs now laying out in front of her as her butt slid a away from the wall.
The turning of the windmill mesmerized her. She began to think about the current events in her life and longed for normalcy. Not normalcy in the sense of most people's definition, but normalcy as in the adventures she shared with her friends. She preferred the hunting, not being hunted. Surely, if Luca thought she was dead then he would no longer be after her, but she'd have to keep a low profile.
Kadina grew dizzy. She stumbled to her feet and dusted herself off. The charge still fizzed inside of her body, but hunger was now overpowering it. Another zap, as she turned the doorknob to go outside.
After smoothing her hair flat, she took in a deep breath of fresh air and smiled happily to be alive when suddenly, there was an echoing scream and an explosion nearby. Following these two events, most people would have wished they had stayed dead after what happened to Kadina, but smelling the explosives and hearing the chaos was part of her awakening back into this world and her smile broke into a devious grin.
The flames from the burning building ascended into the atmosphere and signaled for her attendance. She dismissed the stairs by the windmill and took a shortcut over the railing then sprinted toward the scene of destruction.
Never had she ever been more enthralled to see a friend in her entire life. "Eldrin!" She ran and tackled him in a bear hug nearly knocking him over. Her touch lightly shocked him as her arms flew around his neck. "I died! You should have been there!" Her excitement faded and she released her arms from around Eldrin's neck as she suddenly noticed Maria and the loss of blood puddling the premises. She looked around once she realized she should have been more aware and noticed Icylius' familiar face.
"What's going on?"

Icylius continued to focus on Maria's wound while filling Kadina in on the details."Well I don't know exactly what's happeneing," he began. He tore open Maria's dress around the arrow to better asses the damage. The arrow hadn't seemed to puncture anything important, or sever any main arteries. "Earlier Max was with me blabbin' about some big contract he'd picked up. He never gave me any details but I assumed he was just exaggerating on just how big it actually was. Once the kid left suddenly from nowhere all these guys showed up and jumped me. I ran after Max after I dealt with them and saw this whole mess with the woman here before being attacked again. Whatever Max uncovered, someone is not happy about it." Icylius tore a sleeve from his tunic and started wiping away the blood around the wound. "You don't perhaps know how to remove an arrow? Do you Kadina?" He asked somewhat desperately.
The men that were pulverizing poor Max turned to meet their challenger. A particularly ugly one from behind the what seemed to be leader of the bunch spoke up. "Who's gonna make us?" he spat. The figure on the roof never moved, "Me." And before any of them could process his movements he was hacking into the man who had been beating little Max. His katana easily sliced its way through the base of his neck, relieving the poor bastard of his head. As the head and body collided with the ground another one approached their mysterious attacker. One step was all he took before he too lost not his head. The remaining three stared in fearful hesitation before the two not holding the boy reluctantly rushed in. However, one man, the ugly one who had first spoken, tripled over himself. To his misfortune, this was an instant death sentence, and with a blur of motion his death was directly under him, placing its blade in the path of his exposed neck. A horrified scream of helplessness escaped from the man before his stupidity killed him, the blade slicing clean through his neck. The one holding Max released him and made an attempt to flee for his life, however before the other could follow suit he was dispatched with a projectile to the face. The last and final victim was just about to jump down from the building when a shuriken lodged itself in his calf, causing him to stumble and fall over head first. Max could hear the crunch of imapct as he hit the ground and he cringed a little.
After all the chaos had settled Max's face lit up like the sun, "Mathayus!" he yelled happily, running up and giving him a hug. "Where are the others?" Mathayus asked not paying attention to the delightfulness of the child. "I think they are in that building over there. Judging by the explosion Eldrin was probably fighting someone." he replied, pointing in the direction of the explosion.
The two of them casually exited the top of their building and strolled over to the one Eldrin had nearly leveled. Upon seeing Kadina Max felt so giddy he could barely control himself. He had not seen his friend Kadina since his last encounter with Syrus and so he sprinted up to her, wrapping his tiny arms around her waist in a warm hug that would have made Ganon melt."Kadina!" he yelled with joy, "I missed you!"

Eldrin had been lost in thought when Kadina arrived. "Yarrow slows blood loss, right? But you've already taken care of that... Maybe we could just- Kadina!" The thief jumped at the sight of her, a smile spreading across his lips at once. As she hugged him, he felt a small quiver of electricity run through his body. He stared at her quizzically for a moment, then decided to drop it. He would take that little event and the comment about dying and store them away for future use. He trusted Kadina profoundly, probably more than one thief should trust another. Yet, she was not above his suspicions. She, like him, was usually up to something. People didn't normally go around giving electric hugs... Well, Iona did. And that Luca guy from the Calamity incident probably did. Then again, he didn't seem like the type to give hugs. In any case, Kadina didn't usually give them.
Icylius had been explaining the situation while he had been wondering about Kadina. And now he looked up to see Maximus and Mathayus standing in front of them. "Damn... I really gotta start paying attention. You guys are a sneaky lot." He smiled as Maximus hugged Kadina, but the smile was hollow. His eyes couldn't help but notice the sorry shape the kid was in. He had taken a beating while Eldrin was gone. He wondered if Max could feel the same electric current he had gotten from Kadina. While Max and Kadina were distracted, Eldrin locked eyes with Mathayus. "Thanks. For helping him, I mean." He said quietly, putting a hand on the ninja's shoulder.
He turned back to the matter at hand, Maria. "Alright, so unless we can find a doctor who doesn't plan on murdering his patients, we've gotta figure out how to do this on our own. I'm sure we can't just yank it out. But we can't leave it there either... Any ideas?"

Kadina was thinking about Max always getting himself into trouble when Icylius asked her if she could remove the arrow. Before she could answer, she heard the young boy's voice yell her name and felt his impact just as she had turned to see him. "Max!" The surprise on her face transformed into an enormous smile as she wrapped her arms around his head and hugged him back. He was clearly a little roughed up, but compared to the last time she had seen him, she was overwhelmed with relief just to see him alive. "I missed you too! Stop getting yourself into trouble without me!" She roughed her fingers through his hair and messed it up before looking up at Mathayus with thankful eyes.
"Any ideas?" Eldrin had asked. Kadina let go of Max and knelt beside Maria to get a closer look. "The arrow doesn't seem to have punctured anything important, which is kind of amazing considering where she's been hit. That being said, we actually could yank it out, but she could bleed to death. It's gonna hurt like hell... Does anyone have some bandages or healing potion for the pain and wound?" She asked as she looked up at the others all standing around Maria. "If not, we have to get her to someone immediately." Kadina knew of the old hag there in the village, but wasn't sure if she could heal the wound. Surely she had something in that creepy shop of hers. If not, where was the closest place?

Mathayus nodded at Kadina and Eldrin, a sign of acknowledgement he rarely gave out. Then he strolled over to the wounded woman and said, "I know how to remove the arrow. Icylius, if you could control the blood flow for a bit more so I can take it out and patch her up?"
Icylius stared at Mathayus a moment before nodding in compliance, "Yeah, sure thing."
Max looked up at Kadina with big green eyes and smiled, "No promises," he said winking at her. After Mathayus offered to remove the arrow Max ran over and withdrew a small health potion from his belt, "Here, you can use this, if it will help."
By this time Mathayus was already working on Maria, and he swiftly grabbed the potion from young Max. Minutes passed and sure enough Mathayus had extracted the arrow while dumping the healing potion over the wound to help close it up. He set the arrow down on the table and withdrew a roll of bandages from a pack on his belt. Once he had wrapped her wound he motioned to Icylius that he could stop controlling the blood flow. Afterward he turned to everyone and announced, "This woman needs rest. You should take her to the inn and wait for me there. I'm going to look for answers."
"Oh! I'm coming too! This is my contract." Max interjected with glee.
Mathayus sighed, "Fine." He knew the others wouldn't protest after he saved the boys life, so he allowed him to tag along. After all, he somewhat liked the child.
"Let's go," he growled, and the two of them were off.

Eldrin's stomach wrenched when Maximus volunteered to go along, but he didn't say anything. Mathayus could handle them both, and Max was a tough kid anyway. He pushed those two the back of his mind. He was really tired of pushing things back there... Honestly, it was getting pretty cramped, and he was about to explode.
"There's an inn down the road, we can go there." He said, picking Maria up. He knew Icylius could have carried her, but the thief figured he was tired from keeping Maria from bleeding out.
They arrived at the inn soon, and rented a room. Paying for things was quite new to Eldrin, so he handed Icylius a couple rupees and wandered off down the hallway and up a staircase with Maria. Once inside the room, Eldrin laid Maria on the bed and checked her vitals. She was doing good, definitely much better. The thief wandered over to the window and watched the village below as he waited for the other two to find the room. He couldn't help but think of how useless he had been back there. If Maria had been left to him alone, she'd have been dead a long time ago. Icylius had stopped the bloodflow. Kadina had assessed the wound. Mathayus had removed the arrow. Even Maximus had provided a healing potion. But he had just stood there and watched. He silently made a vow to learn more about medicine... Maybe Rii would teach him.

Kadina had gathered food for the group and Maria, if she ever came around to wanting or needing it. She had snatched a few loaves of bread from the bakery, some tomatoes and carrots from the farmers market, a couple of coo coos from the butcher, and some milk and cheese from a dairy farm on the outskirts of the village. Hoping it was enough, she hauled it back to the Inn where she joined Eldrin and Maria in the room. "Hungry?" She asked Eldrin as she dumped everything out on the table. She immediately took to the bread, only taking a quarter of a loaf and perching herself on the dresser, one leg up, the other dangling from the ledge. She savored the food, chewed slowly for once. Anytime she rushed herself, her energy would speed up the charge and make her noxious. Frustrated with said dilemma, she leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes to meditate. [sorry... this is bad. I'm in a rush.. ]

Entering the in, Iona marched on over to the innkeeper. The older man sighed and rubbed the side of his head as she came up to the counter and clanked the bell loudly. He snapped into action and took the bell away from her, a vein pulsing on his forehead.
"Do you think you're truly prepared to ask for a room, miss?" the innkeeper asked tiredly. Iona bobbed her head, a wide grin on her face. He sighed. "Then go ahead..."
Iona waited. He waved his hand in a hurrying motion. "Hello," she started in a formal, rehearsed tone, "I would like to purchase a room. What is the fee?" Her hands were at her side, her eyes practically sparkling with anticipation. "That will be twenty-five rupees." Iona stared back at him. He tapped the table. "This is the part you put the money down. No! Do NOT throw it!" he yellled as Iona raised the rupees up. She placed it lightly on the table obediently.
"Now, you may ask for--" "Food!" Iona stared back at him, her eyes wide. "No, ask for it politely--" he lectured. "Food!" He sighed, and opened his mouth to speak. "Food! Vittles! Substanance! Edibles! Nom noms!!" The innkeeper slammed his head into the counter, his hand coming out as he did so, a key in hand. Iona squealed and clapped her hands, racing up the stairs. The innkeeper twitched, but stayed still as another customer stared on in confusion.
The short, black haired Gerudo sprinted down the hall, but the sound of conversation stopped her. Iona braked into a dead stop and knelt over, staring into the keyhole of a certain room. She recognized Eldrin, not the woman on the bed, and the kid. The other man might've been familiar. Finished with her snooping, Iona got up, but got an eyelash caught in the keyhole. Flipping out, she charged up, electricity flooding from her through the keyhole and around the door. Freed somehow, Iona continued fown the hallway, staring at every number on every door, looking for a number six. A lot was anything more than three but less than seven. Many was over seven but not seventeen...

Icylius buried his head in his arms as he slouched at the base of the far wall. In an attempt to finally get some rest he closed his eyes as well. Exhaustion took him and he passed into unconsciousness.
Mathayus dug through the pocket of one of the dead men he had brutally decapitated earlier, "Nothing.." he mumbled. I've searched nearly every one of them and not one has had anything we can use, he thought.
"Mathayus! Over here, I think I found something!" little Max yelled from across the building.
Mathayus strolled over to where the kid was and said, "What did yo find?" "This." he answered, "It's some sort of card..made out of metal I think, its pretty heavy."
Mathayus took it from max to take a better look. The word "Bridge" in bold black letters was printed on the front and back of the card. It was completely silver, and heavy, indicating that it was in fact made of steel.
"Let's get this back to the others, we need to figure out how to work this." "Right," Max cheerfully said bouncing up from his crouched position.
The two of them made their way back to the inn, however on their journey back something felt amiss to Mathayus. It was relatively dark now and the moon was lazily rising into the sky, but the silence he felt was somehow disturbed. Once the two of them entered the inn Mathayus' suspicions were confirmed, the man that was usually stationed behind the bar was dead, his body slumped over the counter top. Mathayus said nothing, but little Max let out a gasp of surprise, "What happened!?" he breathed, running over the the downed man. He hopped over the counter and pressed his fingers to his throat, checking his pulse. The steady yet extremely slow beat of his heart lightly pounded against his tiny fingers. "Mathayus! He's alive! Come here and help me,"
Mathayus was in deep thought when the boy called him over, he was in maximum caution and was furiously scanning the room for anything out of the ordinary. When Mathayus reached the counter Max was picking the man up and placing him on a bar stool. And that's when he noticed it...a bomb, the size of which spanned the man's entire torso, was embedded into his chest. Mathayus' eyes augmented, Holy shit... "Max! Get ou...! was all he had time to yell before the bomb ignited and decimated the entire bar. Mathayus was thrown with so much force that he smashed into the wall across from the staircase. The right half of his black ninja outfit was singed into oblivion and an enormous burn covered the skin that was showing. Mathayus was utterly rocked by the explosion and his head slumped forward as he sat against the wall. He was conscious but he knew that he had suffered a concussion. A high pitched ringing was all he could hear in both ears while blood coursed down the left side of his temple and down his cheek.
There was nothing Mathayus could do but sit there; all of the energy he had had been drained from the explosion. No..the kid, you must get to the kid.. the voice in his head motivated.
Mathayus lifted his head just enough to rest it on the back of the wall. There was dust and smoke everywhere, even with his keen sense of vision he could not see through it. Maybe it was his injuries that also contributed to the sudden dip in sensory functions. Even so, he had to make sure the kid was alive. Carefully utilizing the left side of his body he placed himself on his feet. "Max!" he yelled. Or at least he thought. His mouth moved but he could not hear the words escape his lips. The ringing was all he could hear still. The debilitated ninja slowly hobbled through the smoke in search of the child but about halfway to where the bar used to be something slammed into the left side of his ribs. Mathayus landed on his burned right side and released a howl of pain. The next thing he felt was a boot over his throat, and now his hearing was starting to pull through for him, he heard the muffled voices of what he interpreted to be women.
Icylius jolted awake when he heard and felt the inn explode, "What the hell?" he thought. He was sure the others had felt it too so he lifted himself off the ground and headed for the door to inspect what had occurred. However as he took two steps away from the wall it too burst forth in a ball of fire and kinetic energy. The turbulent force tossed Icylius across the room slamming him into the opposite wall before impacting with the ground.
The next thing he knew a bunch of women in strange clothing were entering the room, however he could not get a good look at them for unconsciousness withdrew him from reality.
