(For starters I don't remember what colors I used to use so I'm going to use different ones because I'm too lay to look back at what I used to have) (oh, and I'm back!) (one last thing, we're going to try to keep the number of posters limited on this thread because that's kinda what killed the last two that I started. You guys are awesome but I don't want to have another thread drop dead on me ) The wind whistled past him. He was practically ripping through the sky. I'm going to beat her this time. I'm finally going to win! He looked down at Crimson. It was hard to lean to the side at these speeds but he mustered up the strength. Crimson was straight forward and focused. There were signs of tiring too but he knew it would be worth it. Torir leaned forward and whispered to his dragon " You've got this boy, you can do it" Finally, the end was in sight. Torir could see the fountain on the horizon. Not too much longer. And with the pace Crimson was going, it wouldn't be very long at all. He looked back to see if he could spot his follower, but with his hair whipping into his eyes, he couldn't see a single thing. It doesn't matter. There's no way she could beat me. He looked forward again. Crimson just started dropping. They were here. The fountain. An excellent spot to stop for a rest...and to brag about his victory. And finishing this thought, Crimson touched down...

(May or may not have god-modded here. All things considered, I'm just glad to be posting again. Note to self: Bassnectar can't be beat when it comes to music that allows me to feel productive.)
She watched her partner lean into a 2-second lead moments before touchdown and recognized what would soon be defeat. Easing her boot from its strained position, Ilya conceded with a smile, slowing Kingsley til he could comfortably hover above their winner. Suspended in air by the rhythmic strength of Kingsley's wings, she looked off into the horizon which was welcoming the sun to another beautiful morning. Pink cloaked the sky in ribbons and the fountain held a rosey glow in its reflection. Slowly setting down, Ilya hopped off her dragon and adjusted her braided hair, not allowing herself to meet eyes with the victor. Not out of bitterness, but rather an abundance of pride and an attempt to avoid a smirking Torir. Though she had to admit, it was about time he'd won. This morning routine of theirs was her favorite. She enjoyed watching his friendly eyes burn passionately when it came to all things competitive. Ilya allowed herself to take a drink from the fountain and then looked to her partner with a smile that said "good morning".

(you didn't godmod at all. But how come you get to be so good at writing and and I'm just ehh?)
I can't believe I just won Torir thought to himself. It's taken weeks but I've finally done it! ...Wait, did she let me win on purpose? NOOOO! That's not fair! Torir was struggling now. If she let him win then there was no pride to be found. He considered this a loss like the rest of the days. He shrugged it aside and just committed to beating her tomorrow. He looked over to the fountain. He didn't realize just how thirsty he was. Flying through the air at the speeds he was going will definitely take all of the moisture right out of your mouth, leaving it so dry his taste buds should have considered to become cacti. Before he went over to get a drink though, he saw Ilya, smiling back at him as if she were saying "Good Morning," the smile that warmed his chest every day and made him glad that they met, glad to have ran away from his old life to begin a new one with someone who truly cared. It always made him feel warm inside and forget about his problems. For a second he forgot he was thirsty. He snapped back to and headed to the fountain. When he reached the edge he scooped up the water and drank some until he had his fill. This water was the most amazing water he had ever had. It was cool but not to where your teeth hurt, and it was clean. Very clean. He leaned forward, and dropped his whole head in. It was crisp, refreshing, and just utterly perfect. He came up to hear the thrusting of Crimsons wings. The wooshing of raw power and strength ripping through the air. Crimson headed southbound in a look of urgency. "He must have sensed a deer or something." Torir directed at Ilya.
*Meanwhile, south of the fountain in The Lost Woods* An entity darted through the trees. Although he was almost completely unheard, if you looked closely, you could see him as he darted through light patches in the forest. It seemed to be a cloaked figure, probably a subrosian or something, with dark robes. He kept looking upward, as if he were following something above him in the branches. He kept running until he got to a small encampment of branches and brush. On first glance you couldn't tell anything was there. But as he reached the small wall, he leaned back to the point where he was sliding on the side of his right leg. If you were watching him it would have appeared as if he ran, fell backward, and disappeared. Once inside, he laid his eyes upon the young woman. "I found them."

"He must have sensed a deer or something." Torir directed at Ilya.
Her friendly smile vanished when her dragon suddenly called out to Crimson in a low F-sharp. If she could remember correctly, it was a tone of concerned inquiry that could be seldom heard from a poised dragon like Kingsley. His demeanor all together seemed strange and on-edge, as she watched his rested posture become up-right and readied, ears perked. Ilya feared the worst. The last time she'd witnessed him this attentive with such a low bellow was the time Torir had nearly walked into a death trap. Luckily, their dragons had become almost as close as their two riders, and Kingsley stood steady in wait for the response from Crimson. Ilya walked past him giving Kingsley a "don't stop me" kind of look and headed in the direction of the now missing dragon. He lowered his head slightly in acknowledgement to her wishes and she returned the gesture with respectful nod and proceeded forward. The gravel beneath her crackled defiantly, as she took steps more driven by curiosity than worry, in which what little she had was directed towards her fidgeting with a musical necklace that hung loosely at her chest. She slowed when approaching the woods and squinted as the dawn hadn't yet granted enough sunlight to make out the dark areas of the foliage. She stopped and stood carefully, waiting for a sign but only received silence. After a moment she turned back to her partner, raised her flute to rest gently on her lips and blew softly. She knew Torir would know exactly what she meant.

(Wow, thanks for leaving me to come up with all of the details. SONG: You're Not Alone - Of Mice & Men) Once Ilya blew her flute, Torir was certain that it was happening. Someone was going to try and attack them. Since neither had spotted the threat, they were obviously hidden. But where? To the north was jagged mountain, which an archer could be camped out in, hidden in wait to take a shot. To the west was river marshland, which could be hiding numerous enemies. And to the south were woods which held endless possibilities. But since Crimson took off to the south, they would most likely be in the woods. Unless it was only a distraction to remove the dragons from the equation. no matter which way, they were at least being watched. They had to act normal. At least until the dragoons returned. "Ilya, since we don't know where they're at, we have to act as if we know nothing; It will buy us time" He said as subtly as possible. "But be ready to fight if we must, since we can't very well flee. We'll wait until our dragons return." He had tried not to show it and hoped she couldn't detect it, but Torir was, indeed, worried. They weren't sheltered too well and half of the team just left. It would be a long wait. (This is the part where I had really hoped you would have talked about but I'll try to fly with what there is. Sorry if I god mod a tad I thought I needed two songs for this, so there's one for each section Ben Threw - Of Mice & Men) Elye was frantically grabbing gear from their hidden fort. taking a rucksack and throwing in enough food for a few days, a few blankets, and his journal. He put on his belt, which included his daggers, a few smoke balls, and a broadsword, in case he was disarmed. He almost forgot about Val. Should he invite her along? It would be rude not to, and two sentries would be better than one. Being able to wath in shifts at night would be a lot easier too. "Hey Val,I was wondering" Elye stopped. Maybe he should start back at the beginning. "Do you remember those dragons we saw?" Without waiting for a response he continued, too excited to wait. "Well I had seen them flying overhead while i was at the river and I know where they were heading. I'm going to stake out towards the northern edge of these woods. That way I can find out the best way to take them. But I was wondering if you'd care to join me. It would all run smoother if there was another person along for the trip. So what say you? Are you in?"He was really hoping she'd say yes, as dopey as it sounded. Especially from an assassin.
