Mathayus led the party to the Ancient Castle of Ikana, where the organization he was once apart of took up residence. He moved in toward the castle and crouched behind a boulder that would hide them all from view. Mathayus peeked around the corner and stared at the Castle for a long time. It's been a long time, he thought, I thought I would never have to come back here. Unfortunately the past wouldn't let me. Mathayus broke his gaze and returned back to the people who had joined him. "Alright, here's the plan. Mike, you and I are going in to check things out. This could be a trap. Eldrin and Iona, you two will stay here and provide backup. I'm only here for answers, remember that. Do not fight unless you have to. All of the people here are trained killers. Mike, follow me," he explained. After he finished relaying the plan to his friends he immediately vaulted over the boulder and headed towards the castle.

Mike made a slight nod of approval and came out of cover. He followed alongside Mathayus, armed and alert. "These enemies are ninja, they could be hiding everywhere. Keep your eyes peeled," Mike informed.

Mathayus was looking into a shadow when he answered Mike, "I know how they operate, follow me," he commanded. He led Mike into a shadow nearby, it was night time still and the moon was the only source of light available here. No lanterns or torches were present anywhere, the ninja operated solely in the dark.

Faro moved down to Iona and Eldrin from the tree he'd been hiding in. He came up behind the two of them.
"Eldrin, Solas member." He whispered, nodding to both his allies as he greeted them.

Eldrin sat on top of the boulder and pouted. "I wanted to loot the castle!" He whined as he watched Mathayus and Mike disappeared into a shadow.
Then, upon hearing Faro, the thief jumped off the boulder and landed next to Faro. "So what'cha followin' the Mathayus for?"

"Because I might choose a similar path to his. I want... need to know if it's the right choice." He spoke softly, without looking at Eldrin. Painful images flashed through his mind; images of his family, his friends, screaming and dying by his hand. He clenched his hand into a fist, fingers wound so tightly his knuckles became whiter than the moon.

Iona watched Faro clench his fists tightly, his face grimly clouded in memory. It rather alarmed Iona to see his knuckles go so white and immediately acted, coming over to him and casually grabbed a fist in one hand and struggled in prying loose his thumb with the other. His thumb moved with some effort and she one by one opened his fingers until that hand was loose and relaxed again. She did likewise to the other hand and it too was unclenched, the whole while Iona looked both stern and slightly worried.
"Don't to that. If you clench your fist too hard, the skin will be stretched across the bone too tight and the skin will break and you'll be sore and bleeding for days," she scolded and rapped her knuckles on his to emphasize her point. "Then how would you use your sword or whatever you use?" She stood back and stared at the moon blankly for a few moments.

"My father once told me he was making a sword for me, but he-," Faro looked over to see the worry on Iona's face, and decided not to trouble her further. "Left a long time ago. Even if he kept his promise, I wouldn't be worthy of it. But thank you for your concern." He didn’t show it, but his thanks were genuine.

Eldrin watched Faro with a strange look in his eyes. For a moment he actually looked serious, maybe even empathetic. Then before anyone could be sure they'd seen it, the expression was gone. Replaced by his usual cheerful grin. "You're worthy of it... There isn't a such thing as being worthy or unworthy of anything. It's only a matter of whether or not you accept your worth and take what you've got coming to you." He said, placing a hand on Faro's shoulder momentarily. "Whether a man forges his son a sword, or another unlocks the ability to open portals for his son, or a mother passes the comfort of a lullaby to her sickly child... It doesn't matter whether the child, or anyone else for that matter, thinks they deserve it. All that matters is that the giver of the gift thought they deserved it." Eldrin said, squeezing Faro's shoulder.
Suddenly, the thief jumped onto the boulder. "So, who wants to go crash the ninja party?!" He asked loudly. Eldrin deranged laughter filled the air around them. It would be a miracle if they weren't caught and killed with all the noise he was making.

As Mathayus and Mike were navigating their way through the shadows Mathayus heard Eldrin yell at the top of his lungs all the way from the boulder. Goddammit..he always has to be an idiot doesn't he," he wondered. Just as his thought was over several pairs of arms latched onto Mathayus and Mike, dragging them out of the shadow and into the open moonlight. Mathayus didn't try and fight them, he knew better. And he had a very peculiar feeling about what was happening here. The master ninja waited until the men dropped them out in the open and backed away. As Mathayus returened to his feet there hundreds of black clothed ninja surrounding them. The massive crowd parted as a single ninja strode throught them, but this one was different. His ninja garb was completely white and he didn't have a mask over his face. "Shit. Looks like the leader came to say hello," Mathayus groaned.
The man stopped just in front of them, "Ahhh, Mathayus, you have returned. And I see you have brought some new friends of yours. What do you say you tell them all to come down here, and we can talk this out," he bargained.

Is there no way to make them understand? Faro asked himself.
There is one way... A voice inside his mind replied.
Yes, there is. Provided we escape alive, of course. He broke from his thoughts when he hear Eldrin yelling. "You idiot, keep your voice-" Ninjas dropped from the trees, securing the three of them without a fight. "Down."

Mike tried to break loose from his capture but failed to succeed. Instead, he waited to see what happened next.
Can't we have a stealth mission that succeeds? He thought.

Kicking and trying to bite her captor, Iona struggled and grunted, but didn't seem able to get free of his grasp. She became enraged quickly, and naturally, she began to yell and curse. "Nayru's teeth! Look at what you did, thief! Now some idiot creep has his hands all on me and I don't like it! I don't even know why I'm here, and I'm captured! I don't even know what I'm doing! I. Don't. Like. This!" she ranted, her yells ending incoherently and resembling more like hoarse screams. But with each scream, the air grew thicker and thicker with energy and with every yell as her voice rose in pitch. The air crackled with electricity and made their clothes stick fast their bodies as the Gerudo got angrier with every passing second.

"I'm not in a position to make suggestions, but you could always," Faro put the air in front of him in a sleeper hold. "Just wake her up after a few minutes, maybe get a female to restrain her."

The ninja carried Mathayus's companions over to where he and Mike were, tossing them into the circle. Mathayus immediately noticed Faro. He had never noticed him following at all, but now wasn't the time to be asking questions. "I believe you came here searching for an answer?" the head ninja questioned, stalking straight up to Mathayus. As the two of them were standing face to face Mathayus got a closer look at his old teacher. He was an aged man probably in his late sixties. Stark white hair fell to his shoulders and his sunken baggy eyes were a dark brown color. His nose and ears seemed a bit too small for his face and his mouth was set in a perfect line. He had bushy white eyebrows and was dramatically shorter than before. Mathayus stared hard at the old man, not saying a word and waited for him to continue. "Well I guess I won't keep you waiting then. You're wife, Ayame. She is indeed alive. Yet, she isn't as you remember her." Mathayus's heart skipped a beat and sped up to as fast as it could go. He narrowed his eyes at the ninja commander, "What are you talking about?" he asked. "Everything you knew about her is a lie, Mathayus." "What..?" he clenlched his hands into fists so tight his knuckles cracked and his hands turned completely white. His teeth gritted together and he began to sweat. "Ayame was an agent, Mathayus, she worked for us. Her love for you was completely fictional. I directed her to make you fall in love with her, just so that I could rip it away." At the end of the sentence his voice became cold and harsh. Mathayus's anger had evolved to utter rage, but he kept his emotions at bay. "Why?" he managed to say through heavily clenched teeth. "You know why!!" the old man screamed. He backed up and began pacing back and forth. "You broke the one rule! You killed one of the order Mathayus, you took my son from me! So I took something you loved. I made Ayame your wife, and then I had her death faked. Its a shame I didn't get to kill you before the other ninja pushed you into exile." "You're son deserved death! Nowhere in our creed does it justify murdering the innocent! We are here to protect the people, not kill them in cold blood!" Mathayus yelled back, it had morphed into an all out screaming match. The ninja leader clearly ignored Mathayus because he went on about something else, "And now that you are back, I will finally get to see you die. And by none other than the woman you used to love. I trained Ayame for this moment, making her into the perfect weapon so that I may finally exact my vengeance for my son." Mathayus's eyes widened to the size of the moon, No.. he thought. "Come out now Ayame! And kill this man! The rest of you kill his firends!" Everything seemed to happen all at once, all the ninja moved instantaneously toward his companions and Ayame came flying over the old ninja commander, her katana drawn and aimed at Mathayus.
