"Don't worry" Lien grunted, ducking under the mace swing of a soldier and stabbed his sword right between his side ribs through the narrow gap in his armor, spewing blood and sickening gargle sounds from the man. "With us around, we'll give you ten minutes!"

Blade smirked, and turned his eyes toward the enemy, he sighted his missing sword in the middle of the mass of soldiers. He jumped from the arch above the temple door, and landed on one of soldiers closest to his hook sword. The others stood in silence, yet surrounded him, forcing their allies to go around. Blade flexed his fingers outward, causing his nails to grow, harden, and give off a yellow aura. He charged the soldiers, using exaggerated movements to fling his useless arm about. When the golden energy contacted a soldier's armor, it made hellish wounds, slicing and tearing apart the point of contact. He reached his missing sword, and picked it up with the hook on his other blade. It turned into a dagger, which Blade caught in his teeth. He moved to stab a soldier's throat, and tear it out. Shouldn't be long now. He thought.

Azrael placed his hand on a stone and they were taken up to behind the head of the statue that sat guarding the temple. Behind the two eyes and the mouth were cannons. Azrael went to the mouth and then said to Eldrin and Argoth. "Man those...these were designed for one person to operate it. Those bombs will shatter their army like a sword breaking a pot."

Iona jumped on the chest of a standing soldier and used his face as leverage to get up on the platform. She kept enemies at bay with her electricity and she searched for the thing Azrael had pressed to go up, humming a tune along with the screams of her victims. She felt around blindly until she felt something give way. She went up behind the statue's head and smiled when she saw the others there."Hi! Hey, can I help?" she said rather cheerfully. Down below, a soldier cursed at her and her eye twitch just as a bolt of electricity struck him.

"Can you keep the soldiers that are already in here from coming up here? I'm more than sure a few of them will break free and try to get up here." Azrael said over his shoulder to Iona. He grabbed a cannonball and loaded and aimed. He pulled the string and it fired, crashing into the middle of the wave of soldier. Killing most and scattering the others within the blast range.

The cannonball tore of limbs of the soldiers completely, some, whole bodies turning into a bloody pulp from the impact. Iona winced at the grisly sight, but giggled in a mixutre of nervous excitement and disgust. She created a force field of electricity around the statue to protect them, gravely watching dim witted soldiers throw themselves at the wall of electricity, even as the ones before them died. Iona shook her head at their stupidity, but kept it up, looking for Aetis in the mess of enemies and weapons.
Aetis's face crinkled as he watched the cannonball whistle past. This couldn't be good for them. He turned around and glanced at Blade, who fought with demon fervor. But the blood of the wound on his arm soaked his scales. As he turned back to rest and observe the battle from this seemingly crazed human, he wondered how much longer they could keep.

"You know for how smart you are, I don't think you've figured it out yet." Blade said through the dagger in his mouth as he tore an escape route through the enemy ranks. "Figured out that I'm a-" Blade staggered forward, his vision blurring. "Damn, I've lost too much blood." Blade fell to one knee, and his enemies converged on him. One raised its warhammer. Come on, one good leap. Blade lifted his knee off the ground so he was in a squatting position. The soldier hesitated for a second, and Blade was gone. He grabbed onto the arch with his good arm, and pulled them up. He sheathed his daggers, and jumped to were the others were. His focus fading, he crashed messily near the others, unable to make a proper landing.

Torak pulled his crossbow out and quickly made his way towards Blade, he lifted Blade in one arm and fired bolts at the soldiers and they fell one-by-one.

A sudden small burst of energy emitted from Jaru as his powers peaked.
"I'm ready. Let's get out of here." Jaru proclaimed. He opened another portal, this one leading to Hyrule field, in the same way as seen in Kakariko Village. This gate was a smaller scale and was opened behind everyone, near the entrance to the temple. Jaru walked on through.
Upon sight of the open gateway, Garen made his way to the battlemages, who were still at the base of the stairs. "Come on. Our exit is open, we need to leave." Garen ordered as he axed another soldier in the chest.
"I do not want to leave this temple. It is our home." The leader stated once again, as he cleaved two more enemies in half vertically.
Garen pointed at the rest of the advancing army, which still looked as large as before, and asked the battlemage, "Do you think they are going to let you stay? Alive?"
The leader sighed and ordered his mages to retreat. In mere seconds, they went from the spirit temple to Hyrule Field. Garen fought back up the stairs. "Go! I'll cover you!" He ordered his friends, cutting up more enemies with his short sword.

Argoth looked at the cannons and frowned, "That isn't nearly as fun as killing them myself," he complained. Looking around he spotted Iona not far away fighting off soldiers that broke off to try and disrupt them. "Hey Iona! I'll switch ya!" he bellowed, jumping off the platform and back into the crowd of soldiers. He plunged his blade into the top of an enemy's head as he came down upon him. Argoth rode his lifeless body all the way down the steps, plowing through several soldiers on the way down. He was now in the heart of the battle. Almost instantaneously after he had stopped the vast army was upon him. Not a very smart idea, Argoth thought, But oh well.
Argoth fought viciously through the crowd of soldiers hacking this way and that. He had sustained minor injuries throughout but was almost to the top of the stairs again. A large path of carnage lay in his wake. Just as Argoth was climbing the last few steps a pair of soldiers grabbed onto his shoulders and dragged him back down to the bottom again, tumbling and crashing down the steps in a giant heap. "God dammit," he mumbled, rising back to his feet. He swept his blade in a low arc, hacking the leg off of an incoming soldier. Several others began approaching him and he cut them down as fast as they would come. Unfortunately though, their numbers were too great and Argoth was getting weary, and they quickly overpowered him.

Lien roared as he cut down one last solider, but was too exhausted to move anymore. As he swung out his sword wildly out, the force of his swinging arm brought him to his knees, panting and gasping for air heavily. Taking in huge gulps of hot, metallic-tasting air from the blood. "Dammit, there's too many. . . at this rate I'm going to need to take drastic measures. . ." he panted. He noticed Argoth over taken by the multitude of solders.
It seems like he doesn't have much of a choice, sheathing his weapons, lien dodged an ax meant to crack his skull in half. With a harsh cough, Lien felt his body slammed into a stone wall, wincing. Breathing heavily, Lien started to allow his darker, animalistic dragon to come forth, feeling his body begin the painful transformation into his true dragon form.

Azrael turned away from the cannons and walked down the steps and stood next to Argoth and looked at Animus. He could feel the evil emitting from his blade and it made the monk sick to his stomach. He held back the nausea and gripped the hilt of his blade.
Torak stood back from the action as he tried to find a place to set Blade down so he would not get trampled by the battle.

Iona saw the army split, but stayed on the platform to see. Her nose crinkled in disgust when she saw the soldiers, who were more dead than alive. She saw the hooded figure Argoth was speaking to and she gagged at the waves of bad energy rolling off him. "This is going to be interesting," she muttered and giggled, pressing a hand to her mouth to suppress her laughs of excitement and anxiety. There hasn't been this much excitement since she was exiled!
Aetis tightened his grip on his unconscious ride's arm, blood still gushing out of his wound. He craned his head level to Torak's eyes see what reeked so badly. He wanted to go get a closer look at whatever was giving of such an evil scent, but was stuck being a living tourniquet. He hoped Torak would leave Blade near the thing so that he might get a better look. He flicked his tongue out, savoring the air.

Garen kept pressuring his allies to flee. "We don't have time for this! Get your asses through the portal before I throw you through it myself!" He warned angrily as he ripped open more stomachs with his extremly bloody axe.

(just going to post something to bump this thread up from being hidden by the True Pilgrimage thread)
Lien's once aqua eyes turned a bloodlust red as the transformation began, his clothes blacken and blend along with his skin as his size grew, his cape split into two sheets before forming into a pair of powerful, bat-like wings. With the transformation complete, Lien snarled at the shocked army with blank, glowing red eyes, a crooked reptilian grin crossed his face to show off his rows of white razor fangs, claws the colour of iron clacked and gripped the stone tiles of the Temple as he took a step towards the legion of men. His tail flicked side to side in anticipation as he watch some of the cowardly men flee the grounds, and more as he threw his head back and let out a piercing scream that shook the dust off of the very walls of the temple.
