"Woah..." Kadina cringed when she saw Iona's back. She vacuumed air through her gritted teeth as an expression of feeling the pain just by seeing it. She felt a sudden compassion for the poor gerudo and made it her top priority to get her out safely and in the care of a good potion maker.
The explosion threw Nadeana off focus and disrupted her meditation. The sand storm would soon settle. In the mean time, Nadeana struggled beneath the rubble and debris of the explosion.
The blow from the explosion shook the entire hideout. Kadina took the distraction as an opportunity to get away, but she would have to get creative because they couldn't all fit on the back of Ol Buck.
At the end of the corridor near an exit, a wagon had been dropped off and ready to unload. It was filled with crates of dates, linens, and a few other stolen gadgets and what not. Kadina side-kicked Ol Buck and dashed to the end of the corridor taking note that Azrael was down one of the passing hallways. She jumped off of the horse and began flinging crates from the cart but kept enough for supplies. When there was enough room, Kadina pulled Iona off of the horse, laid her gently on the soft linens, and took the chain from her blade which she then used to attach the wagon to Ol Buck.
Kadina had just mounted the stallion when the patter of footsteps began to echo down the hall. "Ah, hell..." Kadina rolled her eyes as she watched a single gerudo advance on her position. The bandit drew her dagger and was about to launch it into the thigh of the gerudo women when she heard her yell an unfamiliar name. "Merari!" "Merari?" Kadina was confused. It suddenly occurred to her who the girl was referring to. She leaned to the side and examined Ol Buck's underside. She pulled back up in surprise. "Oh..."
Just then the gerudo had flung a spear straight at Kadina. Fortunately, she dodged it, but the act had caught her by as much surprise as discovering that Ol Buck was actually Madame Buck.. Or Merari. "Monk!!" Kadina shouted from the top of her lungs hoping he would turn the corner in time to jump into the cart, for she was about to trample the gerudo in a mad dash down the corridor to retrieve Eldrin and escape the hideout.

"Monk!!" Kadina's call reached Azrael's ears over the sound of what seemed to be a cannon battle underground. Azrael knew they needed to get to their allies quickly, so he sighed and said "Forgive me for this, maestro." He ran and picked up Seiji fireman-style and started running, he started to sprint after he turned the corner and saw the cart with Kadina riding the stallion. It took him less than a minute to cover the distance (due to his adreneline level and the training from his father)
He leapt onto the cart and set Seiji down, he noticed a bow with a quiver full of arrows to which he picked them up and fitted an arrow onto the string and aimed it at a Gerudo who was catching up to the back of their cart.
"I thank you for waiting for us...and props for the cart." Azrael said to Kadina before firing another arrow.

Firstly slightly astounded by the monk's actions, Seiji was then immediately concerned for her student, coming to to kneel down next to her. The linens were stained with her blood, the stain blossoming outwards as it reddened. Holding her gauntlet over Iona's nose and mouth, she saw that her breath misted only very faintly against the metal. Her pulse was fluttering and feeble, her skin cold. Seiji cupped Iona's cheek tenderly, frustrated as she knew the seriousness of her condition made her helpless in doing any good for her.The realization of the fact that the girl wasn't going to awaken any time soon gave her a bittersweet relief to her concern.
As the cart jolted and rocked violently as they sped along wildly, and Seiji kept an eye on her student, assured that Azrael kept them covered.

Eldrin was locked in a Gerudo's grapple as the horse and cart came flying down the hallway in his direction. He knew he had to act quickly if he was going to catch on. He twisted the Gerudo's arm around and shoved her in the horse's way, then jumped on as Ol' Buck (or rather Merari) was slowed by his living speed bump.
He plopped down next to Azrael and watched him take out the Gerudo. "We have to get Iona to a doctor. I don't know about you guys, but I'm terrible at first aid let alone medical treatment of this caliber."

"I'm only good with healing of the spirit...not of the physical body itself!" Azrael said aloud as he let another arrow loose into the skull of another unfortunate Gerudo thief.
Azrael checked over his shoulder to figure out the distance o the exit. They had little over a minute ride before they got out. The Desert Monk decided to hold his sigh of relief until they were safely out of harms reach, an arrow whizzed embedded itself into Azrael's leg and brought him down to one knee. He silently cursed to himself as he fitted another arrow and returned fire to the one who fired at them.

"Damn!" Eldrin growled as Azrael was hit. That meant that only Kadina and Seiji were uninjured. His earlier wounds had healed greatly since the ambush in the forest. He could already run nearly as fast as before. But it still hurt from time to time. And with Iona's back, she wasn't fighting anyone any time soon. Forced to act, he flicked what appeared to be a small spark into the hallway behind them. The spark rested on the floor for a moment then suddenly went off like a bomb. The entire hallway behind them was engulfed in a fiery explosion that violently shook the entire Gerudo Fortress. Only about half of their pursuers escaped the blast.
"That should help a little." He commented, setting the tip of Azrael's next arrow on fire.

Azrael nodded a thanks to Eldrin after he lit the tip of his arrow in fire and aimed, he noticed a lantern on the wall and grinned. It must have some oil in it...and oil is flammable. He pulled back the bow string and let the flaming instrument of death loose as it struck the lantern and set the hallway behind them ablaze.
"Let's see them walk on fire!" Azrael grinned

As they reached the end of a corridor near an exit, Kadina pulled back on the reins and had Merari rear up and kick the door out. The sand storm barely stirred as it had just settled. "Cover her!" Kadina shouted behind her. Any sand that entered Iona's wounds would only worsen the pain. The hideout was left in complete disaster. Nothing but rubble, debris, and flames consumed the existence of the whole south end. The cart rattled loudly behind Merari as she hauled ass leaving the chaos far behind. Quite literally, they were on the road to recovery.

[Kakariko is fine. Next thread will be very short. Iona's leaving, after all. ] As soon as they hit the sunlight, Seiji covered Iona's back with a spare linen, gently pressing it onto her wounds to make sure no debris of any sort got underneath and infected her and laid a hand on her shoulder tenderly and seemed to make up her mind. Grabbing Azrael's arm, she pulled him close to her to speak to him. "Take her to Kakariko Village. Ask for Thea Herakleides or Xanthe Artemisimedes; they'll tend to her and know what to do with her once she's well. Zabrina Seiji is my granddaughter, I've heard the two of you know each other. Do well to oversee her well being in the future and tell her to meet her grandmother in Termina, if you two ever cross paths again"she said and let him go, coming to the edge of the cart, facing the desert. Seiji watched Kadina for a moment, then decided she was busy, and gave one last glance at her student, and figured she was hopefully fine on her own. She started back in surprise when she felt something slither up her ankle and bent over, pulling up Aetis. They stared at each other for a moment, and seemed to reach an agreement. Seiji laid him next to Iona, then with a fierce cry jumped off the speeding cart. For a minute, she wasn't seen, then if one squinted, one would see her tearing off in a sprint for the desert, blade in hand and rapidly disappearing from sight. [Exit Seiji, Iona and Aetis]

Azrael's heart skipped a beat when Seiji mentioned that Zabrina was her granddaughter. He was in shock for a few moments and regained it right as she leapt off the cart and reached a hand out and said "Wait-!" but it was too late.
Azrael hung his head for a second, but regained it as he turned to face the exit and prepared for the journey to Karikio. "I'll make sure she gets there safely, maestro."

Eldrin watched the Gerudo lady disappearing quietly. "Crazy Gerudo mentor lady..." He muttered, then winced as he thought of his own crazy Gerudo mentor lady. Seeing Azrael's distraction, Eldrin snapped the head off of the arrow and yanked the shaft out from the other side. "Sorry, but it was better that you didn't see it coming." He said, ripping off a strip of linen and binding the wound with it. After that was done, he moved to the edge of the cart and let his legs hang over. He watched his feet trailing in the sand as they headed for Kakariko.
[Exit Eldrin]

"Thanks."Azrael absent-mindedly said to Eldrin as he leaned against the cart and watched the sandy dunes roll by as they headed to Kakariko. [EXIT Azrael] [TOPIC END MOVE TO KAKARIKO VILLAGE: Song of Healing]
