Suaro stared in a daze towards the broken forest in front of him. Without saying a word he scurried through the forest after the group, and started sobering up as he ran.

Eldrin heard something in the trees above him and turned suddenly, assuming it to be Kadina trying to scare him. He looked around for a while but saw nothing. Then he remembered that she was still at their camp, possibly asleep. Giggling slightly at the idea of her sitting there waiting for him for days, he whistled a bird call. The piercing call cut through the silent forest easily. Normally, it meant "follow" or "it's safe" but it would suffice for "catch up".

Kadina heard Eldrin's call through the woods and decided to leave the girl alone. She seemed to be in a hurry anyway. With that decided, Kadina turned her back to the girl and began to follow the call in the same direction the child was running... only at a slower pace. After a few short steps, Kadina was pommeled to the ground with a grunt by the frantic child. Not considering that the girl hadn't seen her, she figured the accident to be more of an attack. She let out a different sounding bird call meaning the very opposite of Eldrin's before jumping up, taking a stance, and readying her fists for defense. Seeing that the girl was as startled as she was, Kadina lowered her guard. "Are you ok?" She asked as she approached the girl and helped her up. "What are you doing out here?" Her eyes churned with that look of curiosity and concern.

Alemine gratefully took the woman's hand and shaily stood up, her head pounding. "I'm fine..." she said absently, not really hearing Kadina's words, her voice a tiny thing that seemed to get lost out at sea. She shook her head and closed her eyes, her vision clearing. "I'm...I...don't know," she finally said, looking confused. She looked up at Kadina and found her to be rather intimidating. "Ah..Miss? Can I go where you're going until I know where to go?" she asked meekly, staring at the ground, trying to find her short sword.

Kadina was surprised when she helped the girl up. She was rather tall and not at all the child she looked like from a distance. She figured they must be close in age from what she could now tell. "Umm... sure. I suppose so," Kadina replied spotting Alemine's short sword and picking it up for her. "I'm Kadina, by the way." She introduced herself while she handed Alemine the sword. Kadina wondered why the girl was so temmid. She never at all felt to be the intimidating type, but it appeared as if she was frightening the girl. Realizing this, Kadina put on her usual smile inviting the girl to take the sword from her and not to worry. She was a friend.

Syrus cried out in pain as Faro repaired his body of all its damages. He silently listened to him with a creepy, manaical smile on his face. Then he felt the sudden pain of a broken nose as Faro slammed a fist into his face. The back of his head connected with the tree behind him and a headache suddenly began to throb in his skull. Anger did not arise in him as Faro struck his face, but a very evil sense of satisfaction. "Ohhhh dear Faro," Syrus began as the young, psychotic demon assassin walked away, "It does not matter what you do, that boy is mine. I made him, and I shall reclaim him, one way or another,' he finished. The teleporter heeded Faro's last words and leaned on the tree behind him. He knew that with all the blood he had lost he couldn't even stand against the boy alone. And not to mention that all the noise he had made crashing through the forest would have definitely attracted the attention of some of the boy's friends. Nursing his bloodied nosde, Syrus promptly disappeared from where he was and out of the forest.
Icylius walked deeper into the forest, his mind consumed with the contract he held in his hand. Suddenly, he noticed Alemine off to the side of the trail he was on. His face got a little red as he noticed her and he quickly pulled his eyes away. What is she doing out here? he pondered.
Maximus noticed Alemine as well but sprinted for Kadina that was next to her. He leaped through the air yelling, "Kadina!" and landed on her in a massive, warm, friendly hug that pinned her arms to her sides. Max hadn't realized how fast he must have been running, because when he leaped at Kadina they both went down in a crumpled heap; leaves shooting into the air at their impact. Max just laughed happily and sat up, the dead brown leaves caught in his blond hair. The boy cocked his head up at Alemine and produced a smile that could have stopped a war, "Hi Alemine! How are you today?" he asked.
Icylius stopped as Max sprinted and tackled Kadina, he hadn't even noticed she was there with Alemine. The flustered teenager hadn't realezed he was walking toward them either until he was already there. Oh hell, why do I do this to myself, he thought, glancing at Alemine quickly and then back over at Max and Kadina.
The woman in the trees followed her prey and stopped just across from them, about three trees away. She tuned them out to think of a plan, I'll have to wait for the rest of them to catch up, and once they are all together, I will make make my move, she decided.

As Faro walked through the trail of broken, bloodied trees he pondered what Syrus had said. He thought about Ganon and Malevolence and the other members of Ganon's elite Varamir, Chandrea, Lorcren and the ones whose names escaped him. In the end, he pushed these thoughts to the background. What mattered right now was finding Max and saving the lives of the boy's friends. If Faro did what he planned to do, he would need people willing to help him. Saving their collective lives would have to suffice as far as trust went. He heard Eldrin's bird call, and his head snapped up. He was close. He ran through the forest, bounding off the fallen trees like a cat. He reached Max and the others quickly. He landed among and looked around, seeing Max sitting among the women of the group.
"You, boy. You need to come with me. I can help you." He commanded. He wished there was more time to explain, but their was no way of knowing when Max's demon would take over. Max's demon and Malevolence were quite similar, but there were still key differences, and being surrounded by people, especially friends, would only make it worse.

A man snuck up on the woman behind the trees, "You don't want to do that." He whispered behind her adjusting his gloves. Blue sparks crackled lightly from the friction as he slid them into place. He glanced up and watched as the young child wrestled with Kadina. His fist clenched as he placed them to his side.
Kadina laughed cheerfully and pushed Max off with her whole hand in his face. After he sat up to greet Alemine, she gently knocked him to the side of her and began burying him in the leaves. Once Faro entered the group, Kadina stopped raining the leaves on Max and listened.
"You, boy. You need to come with me. I can help you."
"Help? What's going on?" Kadina asked, then looked at Max with a frown on her face.

A portal had opened in the forest, away from the others. Two soldiers appeared from it, followed by several dodongos.
"Garen! Close the damn portal!" Mike barked at him.
"Oh, sorry." he said. He snapped his fingers and the portal closed and the dodongos remained. Mike immediatly leaped over one of the lava lizards and severed its tail with his katana. Garen swiftly flowed from one enemy to the other with his short sword. One stab to the tail, twist and hack at another.
The dodongo bodies layed flat on the ground. Mike stared down at them, anger stirred inside him. He snapped his attention to Garen, "What was that back there?" he asked, "I thought you had this portal thing down by now."
"Hey, just because I have a lot of this energy flowing through my veins, doesn't mean I know how to utilize it," He shot back. "It takes training to use a power, something you should know."
Mike sighed and surveyed his surroundings. "At least you got us to safety," He complimented in a more sutble tone. He noticed the massive clearing and all off those who gathered at the site. "Hey, it's everyone," He pointed in their direction.
"That clearing is not a natural formation, let us investigate," He ordered. The two came upon the clearing and noticed many of their friends have also arrived. And a few new faces had joined in as well. Garen walked to Icylius and asked him, "What has happened here?"
Mike on the other hand noticed Max and went to say hello. "Hello Maximus... and Kadina. I haven't seen you in a while." He said in a friendly tone. He looked over to the young teenager and then back at Kadina, "Who is this?" He also took note of Suaro, and Icylius. "Come to think of it, who are all the new guys?"

Max looked over at the man and returned to his feet. He cocked his head to the side and gave him a weird look, "But sir, I don't think I know you. What's going on?" he asked, not noticing Mike and Garen had just arrived.

Faro looked around, seeing the boy's friends. He didn't want to expose the boy's secret, but there was no other way.
"You have a demon inside of you, one with great power. It scratches at your mind, gnaws at your soul, whispers into your ear. It tells you to hurt, to maim, to kill those around in terrible ways. You fight it, but cannot win. It overtakes you, trapping your mind within your body, forcing you to watch as it murders and destroys, entirely powerless to stop it until it has fulfilled its lust for death." Painful images flashed through Faro's mind again, but he pushed them away, there was no time.
"My name is Faro Sukui and I have a similar demon within me. However, mine is sealed and cannot regain its true power unless we both agree it is necessary. The seals will grant you a new degree of control over it. You may even be able to eject it from your body at will, but we must hurry before its bloodlust rises again, when a seal is placed, the demon's current mental state is the sealed state. Ideally you want a docile state, which would make for a more powerful seal and a greater degree of control, but it is as I said: we must hurry." Faro explained to the boy.

Alemine's eyes widened, and her hand subconsciously grabbed the small, rose colored counch shell hanging at her throat. The smooth, cool flesh of the shell usually comforted her, but the wind picked up as she let her emotions tap into her surroundings. This was getting a little crazy. Demons. In that man, and that cute little kid. What was she going to do?
She backed away from Max fearfully, taking heed of Faro's warning of a sudden siege and sending the boy in a berserker rage. Alemine gazed behind her, seeing a clear exit to leave. Why was it the Legion always gave her the ridiculously hard assignments for her to do? She took a step back, torn from abandoning her assignment to report what she gathered, or to stay and help the boy with a sort of parasitical demon in him. She bit her fingernail and clutched her sword in painful indesicion.

Max suddenly had a very confused look on his face, "But, I have him under control, at least for now. Buuuut I guess it wouldn't hurt to make sure. Am I sure I can trust you Faro? And what are these seals you are going to put on me?" He asked getting up from the ground. Max walked over to Faro and stood in front of him.
Something inside Icylius's heart twanged and a look of confusion also spread across his face. He looked down at his chest and began to wonder what had just happened. Had he just felt worry for the young one? That's odd. It never really struck him until just now that maybe the boy was growing on him, and he was more fond of him than he thought. Maybe now he could consider Max as a friend of his. He is a child after all, innocent and happy. Whatever it was that was going on inside him it was defintely something he felt for the tiny assassin. Icylius shifted in the boy's direction and looked over at Faro. He hoped that man could help his little friend.
While pondering about his own feelings Icylius glanced over at Alemine, who seemed to be on the brink of leaving. He couldn't blame her, demons and all that can be scary, but he didnt want her to go. Although, he would never verbally express this, he just silently wished it.

Faro removed his fingerless gloves, and his coat. Underneath was sleeveless black shirt with a deep narrow V-cut. On his arms were matching markings, starting from a thick ring on the shoulder, a line connected to the elbow, which had another ring on it. Another line traveled from his elbow to his wrist, which had another ring on it, a short line connected to a half-ring on the top of each of Faro's hands. From shoulder to hand, the markings were a constant width, around a quarter-inch thick.
"These are the seals I will place on you, the design of each seal does not matter. I was not given a choice as far as the look goes, but I would rather you have more freedom. If you are abvle to eject your demon, your seals will disappear upon doing so, observe." A black substance that resembled a thick liquid fell from Faro's hands, pooling in front in him. When the darkness stopped coming, the seals faded away. It rose from it's puddle form to become a drak clone of Faro. The only distinguishable feature was a pair of large red almond-shaped eyes.
"Hello, all. I am Faro's demon. You may call me Malevolence." It spoke in a very deep voice, in a civil tone, and an almost aristocratic bearing. It bowed to the others, it's emotionless eyes scanning the everyone's expression.
"I am sorry, he has a rather twisted sense of humor." Faro apologized to everyone, then went to back to addressing Max solely. "If you release your demon, it will retain the mental stability and power level of the number of broken seals. Only you can a break a seal, and only the both of you can break the final seal. Bringing it back into your body is quite simple." Faro grabbed Malevolence's head and made a fist, as the demon retreated into his body, the seals also faded back into view. "Light touches are fine, any significant force will bring it back into your body. That is all I know regarding the seals themselves. Now, will you agree to to this?"

Maximus stared at Malevolence in amazement. "You mean that if I do these seals the demon inside me will be more tame, and we can become friends! I'm in," he agreed taking a step closer to Faro.
