"Very well then, I shall send out Malevolence to retrieve what is necessary. The demon flew from Faro's body much faster this time, diving into one of the shadows of the trees. It bounded between shadows, leaving the forest in a matter of seconds. It obtained a special ink for painting the seals, and a brush. It also retrieved a scroll containing the sealing the sealing contract. A drop of blood from the host was all that was necessary. Malevolence came back a few minutes later. The items carried within its own body. It first presented the brush and ink to Faro. It then cut apart several of the fallen trees, making boards which were them laid on the ground, half-buried for stability. Faro took the ink and brush, and painted a complex magical circle on the boards, leaving a small yet essential section of it incomplete. He turned to Max once he was finished.
"What do you want your seals to look like?" He asked.

Max put on a thinking face and stared off into space for a moment. "Hmmmmm, I don't know, surprise me Faro," he replied.

For the first time since he entered the clearing, Faro's composure was broken. He was no artist, and hadn't expected Max to say that. One could say that in that moment, he seemed human, but he would rather they didn't. Syrus was right, he was a monster, as was Max, but their similarity gave him hope for... something. He wasn't sure what that was.
"Um, alright." He took the seal paint and painted spirals on Max's shoulders, elbows, and wrists. He put the boy's fists together and painted a spiral across them. He connected spirals by painting a line from the first spiral's innermost point to the second spiral's outermost point. When he finished he led Max into the circle, and took out a knife. "This will sting a bit." He sliced the boy's hand, and covered his palm in blood. He put Max's bloody palm against the scroll, and let more blood drip onto his fingers. It would complete the circle and act as a catalyst for the sealing once the magic energy was applied to the circle.
Faro placed the scroll in the middle of a smaller circle on one of the outer rings. "Be ready. This will hurt quite a lot." Faro charged a ball of pure magic in his hand. It took several seconds, he was used to conjuring fire from his mind, not force from his body. He threw the ball of magic onto the scroll, and a violent yet focused energy began flowing into Max from the ring and the scroll. Gusts of wind flew outward from the ritual, and there were sounds as though a rainless storm beared down on them. As the ritual continued, Max's newly-drawn seals began glowing the same pale blue as Faro's did when they opened. The boy rose into the air, floating serenely amidst the chaos of the ritual. The glowing receded as the seals closed, first from the final seal across his hands, then his wrist seals closed, then his elbows, and finally his shoulder seals closed with a final burst of energy, a last gust of wind, an ending blast of thunder. Max fell to the ground, his demon sealed within him. The magic circle was consumed by the ritual, only the scroll remained. Faro picked it up, and pocketed it. "I shall put this in the same place as mine. It will be safe. Your demon will speak to you soon, with a name to call itself by. Thank you for your trust."

Pain shot through Maximus as the magic coursed through him. He heavily gritted his teeth together to prevent himself from crying out. When it was all over he returned to his feet and looked down at himself. Something didn't feel right but Max passed it off as just getting used to the new seal. The boy looked up at Faro and thanked him, giving him a hug as well. He then turned around to look at everyone else and smiled. "There. Now the next times Syrus comes around he won't stand a chance. I'm in conrol now," he said. Suddenly Icylius widened his eyes at the young boy, something between disbelief and confusion expanded across his face. "Max, look at your seals..Faro is that supposed to be happening?" He asked. The young assassin gazed down at himself once more, and to his surprise as well the seals were acting weird. Steam was rising from them, and the ink was slowly fading along with it. That funny feeling returned, a sort a tingling sensation starting from the tips of his fingers and spreading throughout the rest of his body. "F-Faro, I don't feel so well, is this supposed to happen?" His seals were now beginning to burn as they evaporated, and Max hissed in pain as they did. "Ow, it burns. What is going on? Gaahhh!" The kid was now in severe pain and fell to one knee. He broke out in a heavy sweat that began to drip onto the symbols below him. Max had his mouth wide open and was breathing considerably while slamming his eyes shut. "Faro! Help me!" he pleaded. The color of his eyes began to flicker from greet to entirely white. No, he's taking over..but we just put the seals on, he shouldn't be able to do this. What is happening!? And it's never hurt like this before, why does it hurt so bad? Ughh! he thought furiously. Icylius stepped forward and stared at Maximus in shock and horror. What the hell was going on? He looked up at Faro and anger flashed through him, "What did you do!? I thought you were sealing his demon, what the hell is this?" he asked, infuriated. Icylius thrust out a clenched fist and shoved Faro against a tree this mind. "Answer m-" he was about to finish when Max's body suddenly began convulsing. Icylius snapped his head over to look at the boy and couldn't believe his eyes. Max was shifting uncontrollably, everywhere. His arms would shift from one weapon to the next. The first one he saw was the usual blade arm Max used, but then it shifted into an axe shape, then a spike, and so on. It was as if the demon were trying to find out which weapon it wanted most. At one pointg his legs turned into a sort of liquid substance, then reassembled and hardened into stone. The kid's chest was heaving in and out in substantial breaths, the demon's seige on Maximus's body was taking its toll as he tried to fight it. The boy cried out one last time and then it was silent, and he slowly returned to his feet. Max's eyes were completely consumed by white, the demon had won. "Shit.." Icylius breathed, letting go of Faro. Max's arms had transformed into weapons of mass destruction. Both arms had shifted into hulking fists comprised of stonelike substance, but only from the elbow down. Above the elbow were massive razor sharp blades that curved up and stopped just over his shoulders. He swirled calmly around, looking at each person as if he were choosing his target. His eyes stopped as they reached Alemine. A broad, evil smile stretched across the boy's face and he inhaled through his nose heavily. "I can smell your fear, girl," an inhuman, deep growl of a voice emerged from Max's mouth, "It'ssss , you will be the first to die. Max started forward on Alemine but took his time, walking slowly toward her with the same manaical smile. Icylius's eyes augmented and his heart almost exploded from his chest. Alemine! his mind screamed and he kicked his ass into gear. Within a second he was between Max and the girl. "Hm, what do we have here, do you think you're being heroic boy?" the voice scolded, "Well if you are so eager to die then I guess you may go first," and Max rushed him. Icylius only had enough time to bring both of his hands to the point of contact and make a telekinetic barrier. But his attempt to stop the blow only softened it, and even then it felt like being hit by a cannon ball. The force of the attack threw him backward but Icylius used his kinesis to stop himself just before slamming into Alemine. He thrust a fist forward and smashed an invisible punch across Max's face, then another in his gut. Icylius finished by thrusting both his hands out, fingers spread, and sending a psychic wave at the possessed boy. Now Icylius didn't want to hurt the kid, even though he was possessed by the demon Maximus was still in there, and when he returned to himself he would be able to feel all of the damage. So Icylius regulated how much power he was throwing around. The blast sent Max sprawling onto his back and into the pile of leaves Kadina was tossing on him earlier. Maximus returned to his feet with the same smile on his face, "Hm hm hm hm ha ha ha ha ha! That was pathetic, if you really wish to take me out you must do much better than that," Max taunted. Icylius had a worried look on his face for the first time in years, he didn't know what to do at this point and his mind was burning itself out thinking of what to do. So instead of thinking of his own solution he asked the man who started all this, "Faro! What do we do?" he asked. The woman in the trees nearly jumped whe she heard the voice behind her tell her not to do what she was about to. Damn, I don't have time to deal with him, she thought reaching into a pouch she carried at the front of her belt. She turned around at the speed of light and whipped a handful of sand into the eyes of her stalker. She then proceeded to kick him out of the tree. Not wanting to stay there while the man recovered she took off, circling the party she was hunting. But halfway through her escape the boy below began to transform and convulse horrifically, and she stopped in her tracks. What the hell is happening to that boy? she wondered. As she watched the awful events unfold below her she noticed one thing in particular that her target had done. He threw himelf in front of the woman the boy was going to attack. A devious smile appeared on her face, So he has a thing for that woman, what a perfect way to make him submit to me," she thought leaping into the tree in front of her.

Eldrin had sat down cross legged and watched the ritual with intense curiosity. He already knew about the demon in Maximus, and had assumed that it was probably pretty unstable. After all, at one point it had complete control over the young assassin. The thief didn't know too much about demons... Actually he didn't know anything other than the fact that they weren't always bad. And he only knew that from Blade and Zanzabar. But he assumed that it had probably only been suppressed by Max's own willpower.
He let out a couple "Ooooh!s and "Aaah!"s as he watched the ritual unfold. He was particularly amused by the painting. He liked painting (though he was no good at it).
Then suddenly Maximus started convulsing and fighting with the demon. Startled, Eldrin jumped to his feet. He watched in horror and started to come closer, hoping to help the boy, but then his arms started morphing. It was too risky to get very close. He moved to save Alemine when Maximus attacked, but Icylius beat him to it. Trusting Icylius to sufficiently guard her, he instead ran back to Suaro. He quickly stole the rope to the smuggler's grappling hook. "Try your flute!" He suggested to Suaro as he ran back toward Max. He tossed the other end of the rope to Kadina, knowing she'd know what to do, and ran around Maximus. He knew that they couldn't actually subdue the demon possessed boy, but perhaps they could distract him for Faro or Suaro.

A small, horrified cry escaped from Alemine's lips as the boy was quickly possessed, and soon, she became frozen with fear. It was as though she was staring through another person's eyes as the possessed boy approached her with malice dripping from every pore of his body. She was utterly stuck, unable to move. Even it spoke to her, its voice, of sheer evil intent and vileness made tears spring into her eyes. She was completely afriad. She cringed as the boy made towards her slowly, and shut her eyes tight for the inevitable.
And it never came. She felt a blast of air and saw dirt get kicked up, and raised her eyes and found Icylius's back to her, somehow protecting her from the demonic boy. But seeing Icylius thrown about like that struck a nerve in her. Before she knew it, Alemine had reigned the winds and struck Max with her own invisble blows, the wind scattering leaves wildly in swirling mini dust devils. It was only when she struck the boy across the face, the force of the wind making his head snap to the side, was when she stopped. She saw a cut on his cheek, crimson beads of blood on his cheek, and simply stopped, realizing that wasn't what she wanted to do to Max, not the parasitcal demonic force inside of him.
Alemine instantly stopped, and so did the wind. Tears ran unoticed now down her cheeks, her eyes wide, and she backed away numbly, unsure what to do now. Her shaking hands withdrew her short sword and small shield anyways, and she found herself back at Icylius's side, ready to protect him, even if the young man thought it was the other way around.

Holy hell. The demon is in complete control! It's what happened at Lake Hylia all over again! Mike thought as he gazed at the possesed child. "This time nobody dies." Mike said softly. He did not want to kill Max, but he had no problem rendering him unable to fight. He let fly two kunai, one for each of Max's legs, then leaping into the air and was ready to deliver the knock out kick.
Garen saw Mike's blind attack, "No! Has a plan damn it. You fool, you'll surely be killed." Mike couldn't hear Garen's warning. He was too focused on keeping his friends alive.

The demon possessed boy placed a hand up at the cut across his cheek. He slowly ran his fingers through the warm blood and grinned with a certain insanity only something pure evil could achieve. Demon Max placed the blood stained fingers on his tongue and like a deranged serial killer dragged them across it. "Mmmmmmm," it purred, smiling at Alemine, "Delicious. I guess you aren't completely useless are you, girl."
Icylius glanced over at Alemine, her wind affinity amazed him. She damaged the boy with ferocity that made him smile slightly. He never knew she had it in her. Apparently there was more to her then meets the eye,(Hell yes! Transformers reference FTW) and Icylius suddenly felt more attracted to her. But he could clearly see that she was distressed and crying, so for the first time Icylius spoke to her, "Are you okay?" he asked.
Demon Max cocked his head to the left as if he were listening to something. Then suddenly two kunai bounced off Max's calves as he hardened them into a metal like substance. He whipped around laughing like a madman and reformed his arms into giant blades of destruction. Mike's attack was easily predicted by the demonic boy, and he expertly moved his head and body out of the way of the ninja's kick. Before Mike could even react to the mistake he had just made the possessed boy swirled around and delivered his own attack. Blood spurted from the Hylian Commander's face as Max dragged the tip of his blade through both of his eyes, while the other blade arm removed both of his legs in on fell swoop. Demon Max didn't stop there either, before Mike could topple to the ground he slammed a stone foot into his chest, sending him crashing into a tree.
The possessed child licked the tip of his blade, cleaning it of Mike's blood, "You taste good, ninja, too bad I don't have time to finish the rest of you. Hm hm ha ha hahaha!" The demonic voice laughed maniacally at the downed Hylian Commander. "One down," it said turning to look over at Icylius and Alemine, "Now, back to you two, I think I'll start with the woman, as you seem to be so fond of her, Icylius."
Icylius's eyebrows shot up at the mention of his name. The demon knew him? But how? His face reddened a bit as Max mentioned how he liked Alemine, but he quickly composed himself and stared back at his demon possessed friend.
Demon Max laughed at Icylius and said, "Oh don't look so surprised boy, I know all of you. I am inside of Max you know, I share all of his memories, all of his thoughts, everything. What he sees, hears, feels, I get all of that. He is particularly fond of you, thief." The demon turned his head toward Eldrin, "Oh yes, I haven't forgotten about any of you, and I am well aware of what you and Kadina are trying to do. Hm hm, and don't think it will work. I am in control here."
Maximus opened his eyes and all he could see was a vast expanse of black that stretched outward in every direction. As he looked around more he could see a single light, dangling above a figure. Max realized that he was laying on the ground and promptly returned to his feet, walking over to the figure under the light. His eyes widened as he saw who it was, Another me! he thought. And suddenly, without warning, his very own voice rang out from what seemed to be everywhere saying the exact same thing he just thought. Another me! it echoed. "Woah, where am I?" Max said to himself. "Your subconscious," said the other him, but its voice was that of the demons.
Max cocked an eyebrow and upon second glance he realized that the other him's eyes were completely white, "You!" he yelled in anger.
"Yes, me," it said smiling that same evil smile.
"But h-" Max began but was abruptly interrupted by the other him.
"How did I break the seals? Oh Max, you have much to learn about me. Such a simple seal could never hold me, it might hold that waste of space Malevolence, but not me. Hm hm, remember when the creator stabbed you with that syringe? That was a lot more than just a supressant boy, it was the last piece of the puzzle. Syrus knew that your spirit and willpower were too powerful for me to breach through, I was still imperfect. So to make me the ultimate weapon, one who could not be tamed by mere seals or willpower he injected you with the missing link. But it took time to work, I had to encrypt it into myself first. That is why you could not shapeshift, the serum temporarily supressed it allowing me to concentrate on the hell I was about to unleash inside you. So you see Max, you can't win this time. Now it is I who will rule your body, and you who will be trapped in this hell hole."
Max shook his head, "I won't let you hurt my friend's, not this time. I'm gonna take you out, and regain control of my mind and body."
"And how do you plan on doing that?"
"By kicking your sorry ass." Max rushed the demon and attempted to tackle him to the ground, but unfortunately the demon just smacked him away with ease. The boy landed on the ground, hard, and stars danced around in his vision. "I won't let you.." he repeated, pushing himself to his feet. He turned back his demon self and entered a battle stance, "Let's go, you and me. If I win, I get my body back, if you win, you can have me to do whatever you want. What do you say?"
Demon Max placed a hand on its chin and thought for a moment, then broke out into a laugh. "Hm hm hm, deal." It put emphasis on the last word and smiled maniacally at Max.

Suaro whipped out his flute and started to play several low notes, sending dense blasts of sound at it's head and upper torso. Realizing how scared his friends were, he stopped playing the low notes and started to play a song. Only seconds until his friends would start to feel invigorated and reenergized by the majestic song, giving them a much better chance of surviving against this demon.

Demon Max was pummeled into the ground by the sound of the Suaro's flute, and he suddenly became enraged. He pushed himelf up after Suaro was done and he glared at the smuggler. "That flute..is starting to piss me off," he snarled. The demon child moved like lightning as he rushed over at Suaro. He was in front of him before he could even stop playing his melody to realize he was there, and he swept his arm blade up and through the center of his flute. The instrument of destruction easily split in two and demon Max kicked Suaro in the chest with a heavy foot of stone.

Faro flew back before he could answer the enraged Icylius. He had no idea how Max's demon broke the seals on its own. Their demons weren't that different. Faro's mind flashed back to Syrus. His smugness wasn't from arrogance, it was from knowledge. He did something to Max to make the demon more powerful than ever, and now it was out of control. Faro watched as Demon Max began his slaughter. His shoulders glowed blue, then his elbows. the fifth seal on his left wrist also broke. Faro's eyes turned bright red and his voice sounded closer to Malevolence's deep utterances, though it had lost the civilty it expressed before.
"Enough."
Faro stepped forward to combat Demon Max. Faro stared down Demon Max, hatred in his eyes. Faro's right arm morphed as effortlessly as Max's into a four-fingered hand, each finger a nasty-looking claw. Faro lunged at Max, and drove a heavy foot into the boy's knee. He stepped back and slashed at the boy's transformed arm, intending to put a quick end to the fight.

Running her sleeve across her eyes, Alemine nodded. "I'm fine. He..he needs to stop," she said, meaning Demon Max. She glanced back at Suaro, wondering if she should go help him. But the sheer vileness that rolled off his small body made her think twice. From the looks of it, they'd need all the help they can get to aid Faro in controlling this beast. Alemine tok a breath in, and the wind picked up again, swirling around her, ready for her next command. The girl clutched her short sword tighter and her shield closer to her, suddenly without any sort of fear or hesitation.

The man hit the ground hard, but made little noise. He winced in pain and anger stirred inside of him as he watched the woman disappear. "So much for a deal..." Aggravated, he huffed and grimaced while he stood, then took a final glance into the clearing, his eyes on Kadina, and walked away.
Kadina nodded at Eldrin and assisted him with the rope by running in the opposite direction. However, their endeavors to restrain the demon were prevented by a slash to the rope from Max's bladed arm as he attacked Mike. Kadina gasped as she witnessed the heartless attack and rushed to aid the guard. "Hang in there..." A tear glistened in the corner of her eye as she tried to cure him helplessly. Suaro's music would only do so much. She unstably inhaled, her body recovering from the shock, her breath uneven. She shifted and pulled Mike into her for protection as Demon Max had another outburst, this time harming Suaro. A sudden pain shot through her leg as something crunched beneath her knee cap. She lifted her leg to see a smashed deku nut and a thought struck her. She gently laid Mike down and began searching frantically through the leaves and twigs that cluttered the ground. She chanted prayers of gratitude as she discovered one and picked it up between her thumb and index examining it like a rare stone. My resources are all I've ever had. I try this and get the hell out of here. She proceeded to stand and aim carefully.
Kadina knew it was important where to hit Max. It was all about chakra and she decided to go for the heart, the chakra of self control and balance. She hoped that if the deku nut didn't stun him, it would at least release the true Max...

Garen rushed over to Mike and tried to assist him. However, the ninja refused, "I made a terrible mistake, let me suffer the... consequences." Mike ordered in pain. He made a special hand sign and immediatly stopped the blood flow in his torso, a tactic he had not used since Kei betrayed him.
Garen tried to check Mike's pulse, but it was so faint he had to remove the black mask the commander had been behind over the years. His pulse was abnormally faint. Garen began to think the worst until, "I'm not dead." Mike reassured him. Although he could no longer see, he could fell Garen's fears in his shacking fingertips. He coughed blood and made one final order,"Help them, save Max." He lost conciousness, but his technique still had effect, no bleeding on any part of his torso.
"Yes sir." Garen agreed. He felt sadness begin to creep through him, but he would not let his feelings hinder his abilities. He set off to aid in the battle.
